It wasn’t packed super full, I put it at 72 to start and see how it ran, and it worked just fine, so stepping down .5% from there. If it would have froze up I would have bumped it up to 76% and seen how that went.

Lol, I won’t dry them too fast, I’ll just keep dropping by .5% until 68% or so, then by 1% after that until 60%, so that’s around 16 days, then they’ll sit for a while until I’m ready for the next harvest. This time before bagging them up I’ll probably drop to 58% for a couple days, then bag it up. And thanks for reminding me, I forgot to drop them at all so far today.

Carefull when pulling out your racks, you might have a nug fall on the ground.
When you go back to closing the fridge you thinks its shut but it aint.. perameters fall well off of curing specs..
Luckily there wasnt much in the fridge that wasnt jarred already..
super easy to program an arduino you can find online a diy smart plug. and then you program it to open power to 220V now you have anydevice smart. second you buy a humidity senzor for arudiono and tell the plug to ask it what temp it is now and to start or stop. then you can add humidifer and dehumidifier and just power them and copy cannatrol.
thats what it basicly is a simple fridge with 2 machines inside.even it has a flaw that you need to put wet spunges inside to rehumidify the air soo it can work
You could use what some egg incubators use to humidify the incubator its a small peristaltic pump that adds water to a sponge near fan until it humidifies the enclosure again .
It works just like a regular fridge, you can buy a walk in restaurant style fridge at that point, but you don’t need a dehumidifier you need a massive humidifier or your buds are crispy in days. This has all been done, re-tested and verified by many sources, this is not new. Here is one of the better threads here on RIU for fridge drying if your interested, I’ve never tried it so really don’t know, I was told by many thermoelectric wine coolers were the way to go, and all my research lead me to thermoelectric, so that’s what I did, no regrets so far.

No your buds will not dry out in days. It takes my compressor wine cooler set at 45f 2 weeks with no pizza boxes to reach optimal dryness% if the d
buds are left in, then yes they can over dry. But the compressor style works great, especially if your ambient air temp is outside the range for a thermoelectric one. Both get the same results just different paths to get there.

Ok, glad it works for you. When I tried it, it did not, and going by all the people that use the lotus cure method I assume it doesn’t work for most people. Perhaps it’s your local temps and humidity that work with a regular fridge. You should start a thread and explain what you do so others can learn and benefit from your experience.
I had a dehumidifier on hand and stripped it down to just wires, I think I need to buy a transformer for this because I can’t see it being wise for me to splice these wires to the power cord.

Where is the original power cord for the dehumidifier? There should have been a wall wart type transformers that came with the dehumidifier, or a power supply board inside. The TEC will not work if you use that AC power cord, you are correct.
Seems like the circuit board is necessary for this to convert the voltage to something both can use. I know when I did HVAC we would have to step down voltage for UV lights and other components inside. I just assume the heating element would take more volts to run than a fan but my extent of electrical knowledge is being able to follow a wiring diagram.

I may be wrong, but your dehu looks quite similar to the one I used with a seperate board for power. If you go to post #500 to about post #512, I believe you will find your answer there.
They should be fine putting them in a few days later. I would maybe wait if the buds in the cooler are almost finished, but a few days to a week will be fine, it will just extend the dry of the first ones in a bit.
