Looking at the pictures you posted today, your ladies don't look quite ripe yet. They do look awesome, but visually, they don't look ready. There's way too many leaves still on the plant. Consider nature: you know when the leaves turn and start falling that the season is changing.

Also: after my first WW grow, I realized that my one plant had reached its peak odor and started to become more non-distinct; that is, it started smelling less like citrus fruit and more like weed. ;-)

Next time, I will pay more attention to that. I'm sure my anxiousness to cut the thing down and smoke 'er up also contributed to my somewhat early harvest. LOL

thanks man. Being my first grow I have a hard time telling what is going on with them. I panic sometimes
lol. Just dont want to kill my buds.
And yes I want to smoke it bad.:)

thanks tommy I will get one and check it out.
8 weeks seems like a long time for not even being close to ready. How long does it take to go from clear to cloudy to amber?
It differs from strain to strain. This is my first go round with the WW so I will learn as I go.

Hey what happens to you bud when you have the light too close and they get sizzled? They have turned amber and crispy on 1 side but the bud underneath is still ok.

Anyways here are some pics day 45 under the 600w

Attachments

Cool man.
I just smoked some of the weed off that small branch I cut 5 days ago.I hung it for 3 days and then put in in a small jar for 2 days.(aired the jar out for 20mins both days). And it was SO GOOD!!! It was a creeper high. I loved it.:bigjoint:

I hope after about 3 are so grows I can try something like that grow. I am scared to loose water and my grow is killed in a single day.

Oh yeah thanks Dave for teaching me how to use quote. :wall:was to easy:wall:

Mine grew into the lights too on my first grow. Think it was b4 flower though and it had the effect of fiming or topping the plan that grew faster and burned its top on the lights actually grew out to have 3 tops instead of one like the other :bigjoint:
BTW nice looking grow looks like ur gonna have u some prime smoke not to long from now grats on what looks like its sure to be a sucessful grow D83

Ok i have been monitoring the sizzled buds and this morning they were not crispy anymore. One the 1 side they are all ambered out and back to being sticky. My damn camera battery was dead so i could not take a pic for you guys to see what i did but i will get them up tomorrow. I am wondering if i could chop that part of and paractice drying and curing! This is only about day 46 or 47 but hey maybe the closeness to the light made it mature quicker. Or should i just wait and just use those parts for canna butter. Decesions decesions. . . .

Well, if you didn't want to smoke it, I'd be worried.

The change in the odor was quite drastic for me. One day I opened the door to the basement and could smell the fruity aroma immediately. A few days later it had "turned". However, it was only, like, day 58 or so and I could have stood to let her go a bit longer.

We'll see, because I've got four seeds in paper towel right now; two of them have popped already. I'll be starting another grow within days!

Well, my experiment (feminized WW seed from Nirvana) was my first plant to go all the way through to harvest. It was my second attempt to grow (previous attempt resulted in 5 male plants; was from bagseed).

Based on my experience, it was not hard at all. In fact, the plant grew in spite of my goof-ups.

I paid about $37 US for five seeds and Nirvana sent me double my order. So far, out of seven seeds I have tried to germinate, three have cracked and been planted. Even if no other seeds break open, I will have gotten my money's worth.

If I wasn't the curious type, I'd grow WW indefinitely. I am anxious to try other strains, though . . . ;-)

Untill they hit a few weeks into the veg stage, the floros are pleanty. Generally takes 3-4 weeks for seedlings to kit veg. I consider mine in veg once they have 2 pairs of real leaves. Also, once they are ready for the 600w. Start it off high and move it down. I start it about 3 feet away, and move it 6" closer every other day untill the plants show signs of stress, then move it back up a couple of inches. Hope this helps.

If anyone said its hard to grow, they probably abused the hell out of their plants. My WW is Nirvana, and Ive over-watered, under-watered, soil ph too high, and they all persevered. A plants only hard to grow if you make it, imo.

I'm joining the club. I have several ww from nirvanna now vegging so the plan is to find the best female I have out of the bunch, take a great clone and grow a bush in a 4x4 room under one or two 400's. The goal is to produce 500 grams or better from one plant.

How about that for a challenge? Can it be done?

Stay tuned to find out.

If you let it get big enough sure. Give it 2-3 months of veg, and I think you can achieve that as long as the plant is well cared for.

I took down 2 WW plants last night. I waited for them to go until I could just see a splash of amber here and there. I wanted to see what it would be like at mostly cloudy trichomes. I will let the next 2 go almost all amber so I can see which way I like better or if a mix of the two might be better. The bud structure was just amazing. Nice tight hard buds. I was also very delighted to see how different the plant structure was from the old (unknown indica dominant) strain that I have been cloning and growing for years. It is all hanging to dry now and I am waiting for a new USB Microscope to arrive that I ordered. I am anxious to post some pics of the harvest but was too tired last night when I finished trimming.

I also got a new cloning unit to try. I used to clone into soil in small peat pots and then transplant the whole thing into either soil or hempy perlite/vermiculite mix. I found the WW a little harder to clone as it seemed to take longer to root than the old strain, at least it was in soil. I am ready to go completely soil free now and am going to try my hand at fog cloning. It is called a Mistic Cloner.

The Mistic Cloner roots cuttings using an ultrasonic fine mist. The system utilizes "Sure To Grow®" inserts making removal of rooted cuttings very simple and easy. The new (STG) medium looks like pillow stuffing. The unit I am testing has 18 - 2" sites. You can use neoprene inserts or the new STG medium. I will post pics later in an appropriate thread as things progress. I am hoping this will eliminate the need for mother plants and I can take cuttings just before they go into flower..

Go WW Club. Thanks for all the help along the way!

thanks ripdamon

i can't believe how well they are doing. at first i was using the LED for flowering and cfl's for veg, but then bought a 250 W HPS for flowering - and moved the LED into the veg and only use cfl's for clones now - the WW vegging took off so much with the LED - absolutely amazing. the hps really made a difference for the flowering also. hard to believe they have been vegging for 14 weeks. hopefully it (the WW) will be around for a long time. i'll update with more pics this weekend - will be 3 weeks 3 days flowering sat jan 23,10.

Dude i have been looking to purchase the Mystic Cloner. You are right about WW clones, i usually have to clone lots because i only average about a 60% survivial rate. I have 2 3rd generation clones at about 5 weeks old and that was actually out of 6 clones. I justuse a germ kit with a heat mat and a tall plastic dome. The 4 i lost is cool because i have 3 Cali Mist from seed and 1 Swiss Cheese also from seed same age as the WW. I dont have the room to hold mothers so i like to take clones right before they go into flower. They say bud gets better after each clone anyway!
