The Sound board files are all in a format called "Free Lossless Audio Codec File (.flac)"
I can play em in winamp but not Windows Media Player and I cannot use them directly on music maker while making Nerds
Any geeks out there know the answer to this problem, some software I need to convert to JPG4 or some shit?

Sub
If you want to just play the music on your pc, VLC media player is a free download to use. And to convert the files from FLAC to mp3, or to any other format you can download Xrecode it is free for pc. And if you have a Mac use XLD.

Sub sorry for the file issues, I hurt my back shoveling the 20+ inches of snow that week. No shit had acupuncture Friday so I could make the cup Saturday, and get you the hard drive. I was unable to convert the files like I had intended, my bad. Please post a message if you have any problems.

To get FLAC files to play in Win Media Player, install this codec, then restart your PC: http://downloads.xiph.org/releases/oggdsf/opencodecs_0.85.17777.exe

I'm not familiar with Music Maker, but the easiest solution would be to decompress the FLAC files into WAV files. Install FLAC from http://downloads.sourceforge.net/flac/flac-1.2.1b.exe, then download FLACfrontend http://members.home.nl/w.speek/download/FLAC_frontend.zip and unzip the files into the directory Program Files(x86)\FLAC\. Open "FLAC frontend", add files, then click "Decode".

Sorry if this is complicated. I used to do IT support in college. And FLAC files can be a bitch to get to work on some programs, which is why I suggest converting to WAV files instead (Don't convert to MP3, which will degrade sound quality).

sub, try this:

Open the .flac file in winamp itself. Then right click on the name of the file, go to "send to", and then go to "format converter".

Should be able to convert it to .wav, .mp3, and a bunch of others.

It can also convert to mpeg4 (I think this might be the one you were looking for?).

Hope that helps!

Hey Sub - I have studied your seed starting info and I have a few questions. Do you water the rapid rooters with RO water? Do you set the pH to a certain number? Do you add anything to the water?

Thanks,
Mo

For starting stubborn seeds I like cheese cloth. It holds just the right amount of air and water, the root tap doesn't snag and it stays clean, doesn't smell in a few days like terry cloth can. Seeds pop like crazy in clean fresh cheese cloth. Just wet it and forget it.

I just tried it, and it does try to get you to upgrade to pro to do mp3's...it converts to all the other formats it has listed for free, but not mp3's...epic fail on my part, sorry about that Sub!

you can use that same feature in winamp to convert to WAV, without having to upgrade to the pro version. don't need to mess with any settings - pcm, 44khz, 16bit are standard cd audio. and the WAV files are compatible with any program.

Great episode as always. The part about botanicare and having cool people on the show(24:50-25:20) sounded just like Kenny Powers. It had me giggling the rest of the show.

You can get the 100g geo/smart pots in tan and it helps with the heat just like the small whites. Even 100g's of soil gets hot.

What will toke say about getting a cat?
