<<< grows in a "super soil" using vegan organic supplements. you don't have to choose one or the other.

no deal, with no companies, not even sponsored. my how your assumptions make you look like an ass... ;)

Wow there is quite a bit of bad advice in that last post.

If you use a super soil you must learn how much of it to cut with normal soil, each strain has its own feeding requirement. Same with bottles. One you decide how much food up front, the other you decide when you water. Just stop if you don't know what you are talking about albsure.

  • I'm sure he has a deal with those companies.

FAIL. Try again. Kushman is making his own line of soil and nutes, much like Sub's soil. I make hash for a living. You are just hating and wrong.

Veganics is no more "whole hog" than using supersoil. One uses animal fertilizers and one doesn't. With veganics you have to continuously add nutrients, which you don't have to do with supersoil. It's isn't better or superior because he doesn't use animal products, it's just different and he is trying to create a niche in the market. He also pushes certain brands of soil and nutrients and I'm sure he has a deal with those companies. Does it work? I'm sure it works great but it is in no way, superior or more advanced (whole hog) than using supersoil.
Also you don't have to "dial in" anything. Make the soil, put it in a pot with your plants; you're done. All you have to do now is water and watch beautiful plants grow. Doesn't get any easier or more whole hog than that.
That right there makes me not trust your opinion. (What Matt Rize said^^)

When I say "whole hog" I mean moving from hydro to soil and doing an unusual, specialized type of soil. And Veganics' differences is why I would run it. Also, if you read the things Kyle Kushman and Matt Rize write you can tell (much like Subcool) that they know what they are talking about. So for me the decision comes down to which one is "weirder". (Though as Matt Rize pointed out, you don't really have to choose)

I already get fantastic results with my system and I have no reason to change it, Besides, I LIKE working with my plants. I LIKE running ph tests, and tracking development, and having nutrient formulas. I love having a lab like grow room. :) But every once in a while I get the itch to try something new.

Like I said Kushman is looking for a niche in the market. I've used supersoil for several different strains and I found the same mix to work for all the strains I tried; so maybe I do know a little bit even though I'm don't make hash for a living. I know making hash makes your knowledge superior to everyone else; at least that is the attitude you put out there. Yes you may have to add some more base soil if it looks like it's a little hot or top feed if it looks like it is running out of gas; I usually find I need very little of either. So maybe your ASSumption makes you look like an ass. Gee we've already lowered ourselves to the grade school level of name calling. While you're at it Matt you want to trash Verne some more? Why so angry Matt? Mix soil and water.
I said Kushman's method is not superior, that doesn't make me hate him; your logic is a little skewed. I'm also sure he doesn't tell you all the aspects of his business deals. Hey if he is getting a cut from the products he has promoted I got no problem with that. Hell if he uses them and they work well for his style of growing he'd be a fool not to promote them and get a deal with the manufacturer; it's business and that is the way it works. Always has and always will. Get over it.
Like I said I'm sure it works great. I get a little tired of the whole vegan thing as if it is somehow a superior diet or way to raise plants. It's a fad and I'm sure he'll sell a lot of products during this fads' craze. Kushman is a business man too and he is just creating a niche, that's all. He is pushing it as the new best step to growing; all I'm saying is it ain't so. That doesn't mean it doesn't work and work well; it's just not superior. And yes I've smoked some really good pot that was grown with veganics from the dispensary with which I do business. Was it superior to other pot from the same grower when he grows with animal based organic fertilizer; no. Was it damn good; yes it was top shelf but so is his other stuff.

aside from the name calling....i agree with both of you........but the reality is, who gives a fuck.........growing styles are an individualistic expression, and they all should be appreciated as such......same as any other dogma or belief system......just do whats right for you...now go grow some dank, which ever way you choose...:-P

I wouldn't care but Kyle is calling his superior; which I don't agree with. Both are great and both work. As a matter of fact I love hydro as well. Anyone, with care and patience, can learn to grow fantastic bud with almost any style of growing.

that is kind of a shame that he is calling his method superior for anyone other than himself.
