I started getting on GS too before I found RIU -- I ended up leaving as well. Saw a lot of people with bad attitudes there. I requested both publicly and by email that my account be removed -- it never has. I got on here and got accidentally banned the first day -- I emailed them what was going on and they fixed it within a couple of hours. You see the occasional douchery here that is present on any online forums, but overall WAY better than GS. And their policies are hypocritical too as they sell stoner gear and then have attitude about stoners wanting medical cards to avoid prosecution. I'd love to see RIU turn into the new OG :)

Maybe to the general population, but the but back in the day before OG Kush came around, Masterkush was the shit among the cali crowd. I think you confuse evidence with opinion. Just because you think 'ocean grown' sounds retarded doesn't mean it does to others. That's an opinion, not evidence. When I first heard it, it just made sense to me. And the names don't always have much to do with sales that's also an assumption on your part. Ever strain wasn't made by someone trying to sell the shit out of it. Many strains were grown and named for the love of the plant. Also has nothin' to do with making kind bud mainstream -- which I would argue depending on your definition of mainstream it isn't yet -- if it were mainstream we'd have a bunch of legal states. If you mean within the community kind bud was way popular before OG came around.

I would agree that Youtube comments will always turn trollish and I think Subcool is probably like me, in the respect that he really hates having to ban people and really likes free speech. I know that it really bothers me to censor anyones opinion even if it would be in my best interests. I've found that Youtube comments should be kept to no longer than say 10 words or less and be simple. Like "hey, great video"

Subcool really goes out of his way to bring us new things like the mobile lab testing and then the owners of the equipment just end up feeling pissed off by the comments. It's got to be frustrating. I'm gonna do my part by leaving the video comments alone. If people keep dissing the people Sub presents, no one will want to be on camera.

And yeah youtube always has the trolls and always will,Im sure Sub thought of that before he made the Weednerd though. Everyone has opinions,just gotta scroll them them and pick out the good ones.
And as far as what OG meens,I have ALWAYS heard it ment Ocean grown and I always thought that made alot of since and kicked ass.And there was dank weed well before the days of overgrow,overgrow just brung everyone togather and jump started the mainstream scene imo.Still wish I could have been a real part of it. I remember eeeverybody swapped seeds to! now thats community lol.

Yeah I got some seeds from other growers on OG. Clones too. Unfortunately clones didn't survive the mail and I ended up giving seeds away after ending my grow :( The guy who I ended up trading a lot of my shit too got a sweet as hell deal for what he got.

I think you missed my point. People WILL keep dissing everyone. That is all YT comments are. There is NO way around it, at all. The only option is to block all comments, or make comments require approval. Seriously, no one is EVER going to "just be nice" on youtube comments, or on the vast majority of the internet in general.


The only reason a forum like this stays even close to civil is two reasons. A tiny population compared to YT, and absolute control over the forum.



Edit: back to the OG thing. Your point about how you "know it was ocean grown" is irrelevant, hell, you didn't even disagree with any point I made, which just goes to show I'm right. Language is a living thing, decided by majority opinion. Don't believe me? Look up the dictionary definition of the word "literally". A word used incorrectly so often, that they eventually added the incorrect definition to the dictionary, and I quote. 2. "Used to acknowledge that something is not literally true but is used for emphasis or to express strong feeling."


My point? It doesn't matter what you think OG meant originally, it NOW means Original Gangster, because that is what the public has re-defined it as. I'm not going to argue this point anymore, its simply a fact. No one can "prove" what the original namer had in mind, but it can be proved that, that is what people consider the word to mean today. There are now, numerous things that use the prefix "OG" that has nothing to do with Kush, or Gangs. It just means "the original" now.

Be sweet if they could do to plants like they do humans and do test on them to trace its "bloodline" bet some interesting stuff could come of that if it was at all possible..the world may never know... bongsmilie

grandparents are in north dakota and own over 30k acres of farm land.. you cannot visually see the end of there land. Combines cost 500k + w/ a max speed of 5mph

also 2 oil wells on there land & border canada. No Gates or BORDER. just trees planted in a row.. You can walk into canada freely. Back in the old days my grandpa used to smuggle cigarettes across the canadian border, and his father(my great grandfather) was a moonshiner.

I don't know if this is fun to talk about or not, or if has been covered thoroughly else where or if it is even anything worth mentioning.

What's your earliest flower times? I'm down to 7 weeks in hydro, a tad less in soil. Outdoor I can pull on Sept. 21. One half of my worked hybrid is derived from Jamaican indica I got back in 1989. These were seeds someone brought back from jamaica and this is what they were told. I suspect it was probably some dutch indica of some kind grown in Jamaica. I think a year later I might have thrown in some Durban Poison. I worked these beans until I ended up with a 6 week flowering plant that smelled like Vicks Vapor Rub. I don't know how it happened exactly but it happened and I just excepted it.

Then about 6 years later I got some beans from Mr. Soul. A thai cross, another cross and Cindy 99.25(Souls unreleased last cube) The Cindy 99.25 blew the other two out of the water so I went with her. I then crossed a Vicks Vapor Rub pure breeder male with the little Cindy 99.25 female. Grew about 8 of these out and picked the pheno I liked best. The resulting hybrid takes 7 weeks to flower and can pack on 8 oz with 2 weeks veg in the bubbler. This yield can be had in soil, but you'll need a 10 gallon pot and more veg time. Elite times Elite equals super Dank.
