the summer solstice has passed its all down hill from here

Well I tell ya.. if you know what you are doing you can easily pull off grows in Canada outside. So to go and tell people that alot of plant just didn't finish is because the plants were planted to late from seed or the strain was not right. I know plenty of people that grow weed outdoors in AK and them Mo-Fo's finish. The bud up that far north is a bit more airy though it seems.

how do you guys think the solstice would affect me in the eastern caribbean seeing as i have sunshine throughout the year.

I have rocked 20 gallons and i started all my plants in 5 gallon geos and they got like 3 feet tall and i just transplanted them into the 20. they have 3/4 the size they were in thewn they were 3 feet tall. i transplanted it from a 30 gallon bag and i had roots at the bottom allrelady why make it go root bound let it get big as possible

i thought i was doing good with 30 gallons and i was sitting back thinking these guys in 100-200 gallon smart pots are crazy but then started reading a little closer and seeing that people that get 5+ pounds plants are literally growing in way over 200 gallons of good soil mixes for there plants i think like 6x6 holes filled with good soil and a raised bed on top with another 100-200 gallons of soil i was seeing so i was like fuck i gotta go at least 65 gallon if i wanna promise myself at least a lil over a pound

I have my plant sin the ground in holes shovel height width and length. I hope to yeild a few pounds off each. I am trying to get a pound in a 20 gallon. I used a 15 gallon and my plant was 10 feet tall untopped and yeild about 12 ounces or so? It was super rootbound though, don't get me wrong

hahah how did ur plant not just fall over 10 foot tall in a 15

I thought 20 gallons was going to be enough. I guess you always go bigger the next time around! lol

i beleive that ur plant got 10 feet tall and 12 ounces in a 15 gallon but it looked similiar to if someone would grow a clone in a one gallon pot for a month and then flower it and only getting an ounce off of a 3 foot twig plant , yeah u yeilded but u yeilded shit n wasted space,, ive seen plants under 3 feet yeild a pound so a 10 foot 12 ounce plant just sucks

i was always told a gallon per foot. so if you have a 5 gal bucket shoot for 5 feet. or ten foot plant in a ten gal bucket. the guy who told me that is dead now. he was an old hippie that used to live down the road who got me caught up with growing. his grow was in a green house so maybe that had something to do with it but it seems to hold true here in florida.

The roots have already grown through the bottoms of both my 20 gal smart pots. I didn't realize that happens with smart pots. I like that they have more room when they need it, I just wish I would have put some good soil under the pots in the spring. Should I water around my pots too now that the roots have grown out of the bag?

thats crazy that the root system would get that big. ive never had a problem with a 5 gal bucket but this year is the biggest ive gone and probably as big as i can go.....

My plants are in 5 gallons and they ar emabey a foot and a half tall right now and i am gonna transplant them into a 20 gallon geopot. Do you have pictures or your plants and the roots coming out. I am interested to see that

The plants are in the journal in my signature. It will be hard to hold up the pot and take pics, but I will try. One reason the roots may have grown so big is because I wasn't able to water for two weeks(traveling). They probably went through the bottom then looking for water.
