Purple punch imo is 1 of the worst "new generation" strains.

I hate the flavor, everytime I've had it, it's been something I've got to force myself to smoke, because it doesn't get me high and the flavor sucks imo.

Idk why, but in rhe early 2000s I could find better grape/purple flavors....today's grape/purple flavors are not that good imo.

A lot of excellent stuff has gone extinct or gone missing for whatever reason.....you'd think the opposite being it's legal nearly everywhere now
Those purps from that time were likely urkle lineage. All the modern purple stuff is cookie/purple punch/grape pie stuff, and it ain’t as good as urkle, gdp, or lavender imo. The modern stuff probably has urkle too but farther back in the lineage

Na, not even though, the purples I loved came BEFORE GDP, Urkle and such.

Plus being on the eastcoast, Urkle literally never made it out this way, only GDP and to a lesser extent Grape Ape made it here....Urkle was faked a lot out here lol but ppl didn't really have it.

Like 2004-2006ish....I think 2008 or 9 was the first time GDP came to the eastcoast and literally EVERYONE had it at the time

Yeah I used to get the best purps on the east coast around that 2004-2006 time. Never figured out what exact cut it was(dude just called it "purps", now I wonder if it could have been Purple Kush since it was so widespread with west coast growers around that time. Cant find any purp grown well enough in the rec market to compare it to the stuff from those days to find out that way either. OG wasnt even widespread where I was until after I moved west, it was only about purps. I did see some Grape Ape like you said, it was a local grower. It had nice purple highlights but the flavor wasnt that pure earthy grape at all.

The ONLY other shit I got was in 2009, it was labeled as Purple Kush, and tasted like straight up grape candy, no other flavors....like a grape jolly Rancher flavor, no weed taste or anything else in the flavor.....shit was fire as fuck....still don't know what it was exactly

I’ve heard Jinxproof say Afgooey tastes like that and he bred it into his 9lb hammer

Staten island is a terrible guest. Dude seems kind of arrogant. Huge contributor to the history of cannabis, very good at what he does, but the dude needs to chill out a bit
couldn’t agree more. Honestly I felt the same way about Notso, like he kept saying “this will piss people off” then he says it. I’m not a fan of Matt, and ya know “birds of a feather…” I haven’t finished it but I’m trudging through it.

Look what just dropped on the pot cast SkunkVA and Staten Island dude
I just checked out the show for the first time because of this thread. I guess Staten Island must run in the same circles that I do. He mentioned being excited about orangutan titties, Slapz, and it's it. The only one he didn't mention was pressure, which I'm sure he has access to. Small world...
