Purple punch imo is 1 of the worst "new generation" strains.

I hate the flavor, everytime I've had it, it's been something I've got to force myself to smoke, because it doesn't get me high and the flavor sucks imo.

Idk why, but in rhe early 2000s I could find better grape/purple flavors....today's grape/purple flavors are not that good imo.

A lot of excellent stuff has gone extinct or gone missing for whatever reason.....you'd think the opposite being it's legal nearly everywhere now

Same thing with that trop cookie/cherry. At this point the smell just makes me sick. The purple punch seems to be a good breeder apparently though

I was gifted some Trop Cherry flowers and I did not like them at all. The grower said he got the clone from a dispensary. They looked well grown but tasted weird, hard to describe. Not off flavor from bad growing just not my cup of tea. So needless to say I have avoided the strain.

Fast forward to recently a friend of mine has a real cut and raves about it. I had the opportunity to give it a try and holy smokes Batman!

Very good sweet cherry, funk, almost grape stomper backend flavor. Mouth coating. And man that stuff got me peeled. Everyone knows I'm not a fan of flavor of the month poly x poly x poly.

I have to say it is an excellent strain and I think a lot of s1's, different phenos, fake cuts are going around which is giving it a bad name.

Just sharing my experience..

I had the legit cut, from Breeders Direct....strain still sucks lol....but it's more potent than Tropicana Cookies, for sure.

Based on this thread I gave a listen to the Potcast yesterday. Yesterday’s guest was a total buzz kill for me in his approach to weed use as a pseudo-ceremonial type thing. Wants to apply all kinds of rules and a cultish sort of approach with his “enlightened” followers, or searchers or whatever he called them (I.e. people paying money for his bs). I know he was just a guest, but it was a bad start and someone I found mildly disturbing. Gave up later, after a few minutes of listening to the guy try to smoke a joint. Might give it another shot, but…

weird, there are so many incredible episodes to choose from. I'm not even sure you listened to the potcast.

The guest was Ryan Sprague, talking about “intentional cannabis consumption”and the Conscious Cannabis Collective. To each his own, but the fellow annoyed more than interested me, which is surely not the goal. I’ll give it another shot with a cooler guest. Totally open to recommendation, or checking out the right site if this is the wrong one.

I am Looking forward to the day when the show out grows the agenda and becomes community neutral .

Tried listening to the Chris from Compound interview and it's very difficult to understand him, maybe if I listened with some airpods.

You are right about good purp going the way of the dinosaur. Punch to me was more of the sweeter grape than the earthy type I prefer. I think a lot of those strains probably test low thc and aren’t exactly yielders so people moved on. I just got tge cultvtd(compound genetics clone company) cut of grape gas and from a different source got the SR-71 Purple Kush so hopefully they aren’t fake.

Sure there is some fire, but for a small grower like my self who has 3-4 harvests a year I can’t take my chances. He seems like a guy I would be friends with and absolutely can’t knock his hustle

I’m curious to know who had all the BS and lies. Sometimes, I get upset that he doesn’t do light confrontations, although I would say subcool he was pretty upfront. I do appreciate Heavy, he doesn’t sound stoned and is never aloof. He’s asks great questions and it’s just a solid podcast. I can’t listen to Rogan, aside from convictions and opinions, I just can’t stand his interviews.

Dude Grows is a good podcast, they’re coco growers and I do Organics, and I’ve learned from them.
