The Official Canna Coco & Nutrients Thread

You must be in Europe, im guessing UK. Man you guys get all the cool watering shits, Autopots, Blumats, etc. Neither available stateside :(
Nope - I'm here in the US. I wish I were the UK at least until this election is over. The Blumats aren't terribly easy to find but there are a couple of Internet retailershat carry them. Try http://www.sustainablevillage.com or http://www.planetearthhydro.com/tropf-blumat-self-watering-system-12-piece-kit/

I have ordered from both places. I picked up my Blumats smarts over at icmag. There is a huge thread there that is a couple of years old and still alive with almost everything you'd want to know about them. It might be a faux pas to link to a different canna website but here ya go: http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=111046

I run airpots - not autopots. They seem to be gaining traction in the states as a local shop near me carries them now. Autopots sound cool though. My setup is a DTW vertical stadium. The blumats are gravity fed so I have a main res on the floor with a pump that feeds two separate 5 gallon buckets suspended from my ceiling. I haven't started a grow journal this go around because there are too many damn things to do in this day and age and I can't keep up. But I do have some pics up from a couple grows ago (soil) over at icmag that will give an idea of how things are basically set-up.

I am nearing the end of my second week of flowering and can post up some pics here of my current run if you are interested. Peace!

That's a pretty good deal! I never even heard of Canna Flush....Canna Start just came out in North America recently....but no word on the Flush.

I tried to reply earlier with info but it was sent to a moderator for approval. Must be my "Stranger" status and links to another canna website. Since it hasn't appeared I assume I can't link to other sites.

And I run airpots, not autopots, which are becoming more and more available here in the states. Autopots sound cool but I am outta the loop there. I am happy to provide links as to where i bought mine but a PM might be a better route. For Blumats google sustainable village or planet hydro. There is a wealth of info on another canna site on Blumats - PM me for that link as well if you like.

But I can post some pics (I think) of my setup if anyone's interested.

Maybe once I post enough I'll get out of stranger mode and be able to link more freely?

The Autopots were mentioned a few pages back - another auto watering system from the uk. You can link, if that Mod thing comes up fill it out and the post should come through. It is annoying though...

I've ordered from planet hydro before (i think lol) but the gravity fed thing makes it sound like a lot of extra work to set up. And a lot of extra shit to go wrong potentially lol

I'll just stick to my drip, drain to waste for now.

Yeah, I couldn't find anything on the Bio Rhizo in Canada either.
I've bought it before... It's just organic Rhizo, and there is no sense in running it unless you are using the rest of the "Bio" lineup from Canna. It would be like using 1 organic fertilizer along side 5 chemical ones LOL

In fact I still have part of 1L that I dont even intend to use (unless im in a pinch one day for Rhizo) for that exact reason. I did one run with the Bio line up and I like the chemical ones better.

Try Ebay, im sure if you are willing to pay for the shipping it wouldnt be much of an issue. use a ghost account and seperate delivery address if you are not legal

Hi all, I don't know if anyone else has this problem but every time I refer to my Canna Coco nute chart, I have to look twice at the flowering section. I typically grow strains that flower in 8 weeks and in coco hempy buckets I flush for 1 week only. I want to use PK 13/14 this time around so I need to ask if I'm correct in my assumptions. The portion that has me confused is the "vegetative phase II" and the "Generative period I". I typically see a 3 week stretch after flipping 12/12. Sometimes I think I should feed all 3 weeks of stretch in "veg phase I" with only 1 week of "gen phase I". What I have been doing mostly in the last few grows is 2 weeks "veg phase I" and 2 weeks "gen period I". It hasn't been a problem till now when I want to use the PK 13/14 since timing is important for that 1 week addition, which I believe is week 5 from the charts. Sometimes strains finish in 7 weeks too so I want to maximize nutrient use earlier in the schedule. Here are some screen snaps of the chart that I edited with week numbers as two different versions. Am I totally off here? or is one of these versions something you would agree with?

On a true 8 weeks strain the magic PK week is probably week 4 (days 21 - 28 ) but it's better to follow the chart. Here is my interpretation, forget the weeks you have posted above. Follow the plants:

Veg Phase 2 (The stretch.) Grow here until the stretch begins to slow down and you START TO GET clusters of pistils.

Gen Phase 1: From the start of formation of little hair clusters till those little clusters are big clusters. You stay here until the flowers are done growing UP and start to fatten up.

Gen Phase 2: As soon as you notice all vertical growth is over on the flowers and they have just begun to swell up. Now it's PK13/14 time. Go for 7 - 10 days if you actually nail the magic window as I am describing here.

Yes, listen to this guy (AZ) he's a wealth of helpful knowledge. I agree with his explanation Don't follow the canna chart so much in terms of number of weeks, but more your plants and what they are doing at that time of feeding.

Thanks AzCannaMan, going by the plants, it looks like the switch between Gen Phase I & II will be the tricky part but it's only 1ml/gal diff so no worries. Now, with your advice, I'm more positive about the PK 13/13 timing. BTW, my C99's @ 10days of flower just saw their first addition of Canna Boost. Overnight they jumped 4" and leaves are reaching for the sky instead of level with the ground. I didn't see so much of a reaction on my last strain but I started adding it later due to expense.

Yeah thats the tricky part, the main difference between Phase 1 & @ is not the 1ml of base, it's the addition of PK.

I always find the PK week to be too hot going by the chart and cut the base back a little rather than increasing it to make sure the girls dont get burned. So instead of 15ml for example it would be 13 or 14ml. The PK is really hot stuff from my experience with it, but it works wonders if you use it at the right time.

Just watch for the flowers to stop growing upwards, and as soon as you notice them begin to swell up hit them with the PK. You have to watch them closely daily during the time you suspect this may happen so you can visually observe when they are needing the PK.

Here is some Coco magic happening with P98BK - I have about 3.5 weeks to go in order to get me to that magic number of 65 days!

I have been running A+B with CaliMagic. Every other watering in flower i have been kissing it with some AN Nirvana.

Here my C99's hit 2weeks flower today. Stretch is still prolific but bud cluster are everywhere. I should consider this still Veg Phase II since the stretch isn't over ...correct? I know, I know... I have edge curl around the top leaves....happens on every thing I grow, temps are down in low 80's too.

Your close to switching to Gen1

I'd say switch but if they are still stretching like crazy hold off a few more days before switching.

Am I missing something here? I keep seeing people claim that Canna is way over priced...but other then Boost and maybe rhizotonic, I dont see it. I see people claiming H&G is a cheaper version, but they are similarly priced if not more expensive. Someone posted some generic brand that is also just as expensive.

Anyways I have used Canna in past grows with coco and loved it. A friend talked me into trying Botanicares CNS17. But I will be switching back now. It wasn't terrible and it was cheaper, but I have had more problems with it then I had with Canna. It could be a learning curve thing, but that was the selling point that CNS17 was a foolproof system and that is why I gave it a shot.
