For the Gravity, I start low at .5ml per gal about 3 weeks before harvest and work my dose up... my last run, I maxed out at about 1ml per gal or so... I know that some people use more but I would run it for a shorter time if using a large dose.
JBerry,

I use gravity as well but with very mixed results. Out of curiosity, can you show what your feeding chart looks like when you add the gravity the start of that 3rd to last week?

If you start at 0.5 ml gravity, how many of your other nutes/supplements are you running there per gallon (How much are you cutting down your other nutes)? At that low a dose of gravity, do you need to raise your lights at all?

Sorry about all of the questions but that can be such a tricky supplement to use and Ive burned a coupla a plants with it already and am curious about how you've adapted it to the canna coco line. Ty

Here is my setup:

Strain: Black Domina
Grow Media: Coco/Hydroton 70/30 mixture
Nutes: Canna Coco - Parts A & B, Rhizo, & Cannazym
Light: 1000 Watt HPS @ 50%, dimmable quantumn ballast
Temp: 70 degrees

I transplanted these two days ago from solo cups w/ coco into the coco/hydroton mix. The PH is 5.8 & ppms are around 750. There was a strong root structure formed(the whole cup of coco was mostly roots). I used 8ml of parts A&B per gallon. 10ml of Rhizotonic per gallon & 8ml of Cannazym per gallon. The plants have not reacted well. Many of the leaves are curling up and twisting. They are starting to get a crunchy feel to them. I will attach a couple of pics. I don't know if they are suffering from the cal/mag associated with coco or if I went too strong with the nutes. I also moved the light so it is about 24" above the plants. Thank you in advance for your help.

I keep my EC between 1.8 and 2.2 or so...
I use around 10ml per gal of Canna A/B the whole time I use the Gravity, and I dont raise my lights at all... if I were to use something like shooting powder and gravity at the same time then i would lower my A & B down to around 7-8ml per gal.

It really only works well when the plant is happy, healthy, and the environment is just right... something like low room temps could be enough for it to not work very well.

I admit that i am always tweaking my feeding program and that there may be a better method but for the most part that is what im doing right now...
Lately i have been considering switching some of nutes, or possibly mixing my own.

If I am using reverse osmosis water with canna nutes a+b and Rhizotonic will I need to add any other nutrients or should I be fine? I have read a few other posts saying I may need more Cal + Mag but am not 100% sure. Any help/advice is appreciated thanks!!

Canna nutes are designed for tap water.
you will want to add some cal/mag for sure if using RO.... Add 150-250 ppm's (aprox. 2-4 ml per gal.) of cal/mag to your RO water, then add your nutes as usual.

Is there a specific brand you would suggest?

Some great questions and answers! I have a couple questions myself...

Question 1. I Just recently started using the BioTerra and full line of Canna Bio nutes. Normally I flush with water 3x the pot size at 10 days before harvest, then give water only the last 10 days. Is this the correct method using the BIO nutes??? Or should I still be giving them the BioBoost till the very end?

Question 2. (concerning my hydro buckets, not my bio buckets) Canna says use the PK 13/14 only during the 6th week or so. At what "stage" are they suggesting? Seems most plants are pretty geared towards flowering already by 6 weeks in.

Thanks for any help!

Peace

Do you know if coco is a good medium for the sea of green method. I have mainly read EBB N FLOW systems are used for SoG....

Its up to you... Canna says to use the boost until harvest, but i personally would probably stop using it the last 4 days or so.

As for the pk 13/14, every plant will be different as far as the best time to use it... for most 8 week strains it is usually best around week 4 or 5 imo.
You want to use it when the buds are forming and just starting to kind of wrap around the branch (right before they start linking together)... I suggest starting like that but do your own experimenting to see what works best for your strain.

sup jberry.. man this thread has gotten a bit long to be able to pick the gems out..
anyways, im using coco for the first time, there in week 5 of flower now so its a bit late to do anything differently but i was wondering if u would reccomend doing anything differently next time round..
i tried to KISS which is very easy to achieve with coco im sure u'd agree..
anyways, i just pH'd to 6.0 basically through the hole grow, sometimes 5.9, rarely 6.1 or 5.8.. i used canna coco and canna a+b
and pk 13/14 starting week 3, i followed cannas advice and went week 3 for the pk for a change,..i figured that they mustve changed there reccomendations for a reason so i went with it..
As for E.C i brought it up to 2.0-2.4, mostly 2.2 by week 2 i think, from 1.8..
I use rainwater or water from the AC
I didnt add anything else (cal/mag nothing)..
Since theyve been in flower theyve got nutes every time i watered, never flushed or watered with plain water but im thinking bout watering with plain water tonight for the first time..

some pics are here if nu wanna see https://www.rollitup.org/general-marijuana-growing/250691-aussie-growers-thread-429.html down the bottom, post no. 4287

hope it^^ makes sense.. thanks in advance man:joint:

Great answers. I hope you guys get paid for all the work answering these questions! lol

For clarification on the flush...are you saying do not run the 3x pot amount of flush water at 10 days before? Are you saying to just keep giving nutes per the Canna written instructions until 3 or 4 days before chop? No flush basically?

BTW- My garden is looking great on the Canna Bio Products and in the Canna Bio Terra soil. Also my plants on the Aqua Products in my hydro setups which should be good high yielders;)

Thanks for all the help!

not interested in critique-ing me or giving any tips jberry?
I did check the pics and the plants look pretty damn healthy, but they are a little on the small side and could possibly be a bit thicker?

But it sounds like you did everything perfect for a coco grow... I wouldnt change a thing as far as the methods you used (EC, ect.) BUT I am surprised you didnt have any micro deficiencies using just A/B and PK...

If you want to try adding some supplements, you may be able to increase yield and density... Cal/mag would be my first suggestion since your using rain water and it will increase cell density (use a low steady dose through the entire bloom cycle and also in veg if needed)... Always add anything with Calcium first, THEN add your nutes after ... U would probably benefit from some Micros as well.

I also like using Gravity with a little sugar starting right after the PK 13/14.

Inoculating with beneficial bacteria also seems to help quite a bit.

I use a lot of additives, supplements, beneficial bacteria, ect. but its up to you if you want to go down that route because you can get by without them. Keep in mind that most additives dont work that well unless all the environmental conditions (Temps. RH, ect.) are just right.

What type of lighting and strains are you running? How many ML per Gal are you using of the Canna A/B?

what else do want to know?

thanks for the reply man, much appreciated..
They are whiteberry from paradise, they arent renowned for big yields but there also not small yielders.. And yes i agree with u about being small for 5weekers, also the stems are flimsy..

Im in australia and havnt found any cal/mag readily available although i hvnt really looked if that makes sense, but it has been on my mind since im using rainwater..

(use a low steady dose through the entire bloom cycle and also in veg if needed)... Always add anything with Calcium first, THEN add your nutes after ...
this is exactly wot im looking for, this info i will use..

The Gravity, once again im in Aus ill be looking for the equivalent if its not available..

Im running 2x1000hps in a about 7'x 8' room, theres a couple more strains in there but im only concerned about the WB.. I run co2 at 28-29 degrees celcius, no intake or vent fans, between 40-60% RH.. Bcos i run my lights during the night, the plants night cycle is my daytime so temps stay pretty constant 28-29, even thru lights off, and humidity has been around 100% during lights off too, which ive fixed by cycling my AC during lights off..
so yeh theres some less then ideal things right there

As for how many mls of a/b im not sure, really, i just keep dosing until i get up to 2.2

And thats really it man, ur comment about Gravity is funny actually bcos i started a thread on a different forum about suggestions of wot to use after i finished with the PK, especially bcos i used the PK so early, ive had another 6-7 weeks to kill without any other additives, but at the same time i dont want to spend massive $$$ id just as soon use nothing..

Thanks again man

ive been running the paradise whiteberry here and there for about the last year now... have you grown it before? -are they feminized seeds?

How do you end up having another 6-7 weeks after your done using the PK?? That doesnt seem right.

Also, Co2 works best when temps, RH, and feedings are on the high end... I have also found that runing the co2 at higher ppm's during the last couple weeks of flower is actually counter productive... I would lower it down to 400-600 ppm for the last 2-3 weeks depending on the strain/flower time... I also think it works better if you dont go over 1500 ppm at peak use. -Im sure there are people that will disagree but those are my experiences.
