The Miracle-Grow!

Quick update on this grow. I lost 4 plants from the flower room a day or so ago so these guys are going to be put to flower Friday. A bit early (for me) but I need to go ahead and make way for more up and coming plants. I have 8 total clones from these and I'm waiting for signs of rooting, once I know all 8 will survive I'm going to go ahead and flower these and get ready to run some Cheeses that I recently purchased.

Grows are a bit boring when in the veg stage anyway, so hopefully I'll draw more people to this thread once these guys are sexed and flowering.

I'm going to try some new flowering nutes I picked up. Jack's Classic Orchid Bloomer. It has a good nute ratio and includes magnesium and calcium which I think my previous nutes lacked. Should be good times =)

Man
They are looking good.
Mine are about 21 days an yours look better than mine at that age.
Heya Scar, I'm posting pics tonight. I finally won the battle Man vs 1000 watt closet. I got pissed and bought a 9000 BTU Frigidaire AC unit and a 5 gallon humidifier (another $500 in the hole) and it was well worth it. Runnin that light 10 inches from plant canopy at 75 degrees and 45% humidity =) Almost lost my big flower girl due to the struggle but I wasn't about to let civilians die in this war =P lol.

Anyway, I need to put these 4 vegger's that this grow journal is about in flower but I am not having luck with the clones. Looks like they aren't gonna make it and I would really like to have them prior to flowering these 4. I'm runnin a dome, heat pad, rockwool, and Olivia's Cloning Gel. I can't seem to do it right =(

Anyone have any suggestions? Pics coming in the next 15 minutes.

So we've reached day 35 VEG and it's getting really close to 12/12 time. I'm just trying to make sure the 8 clones I took are going to make it which I would like to discuss in my next post.

For those of you just joining us, these plants are in Miracle Grow Potting Mix/ MG Perlite Mix and have been fed 1/4 dose every watering of Jack's Classic 20-20-20, they will be receiving pure water for the next week as I ready them for flower.

LST has been performed to bush the plants out. As you can see they are lush and healthy and have phenomenal vegative growth going on. I will LST once more prior to the flower room. Plants prior to LST were running 17 inches tall. They have been LST'd down to 1 foot and will be LST'd again to 1 foot prior to flower.

Veg system is a 4x4x6 tent, 400 watt MH, 4 inch filter/inline. Temps run high's 77.3 and lows 69.8 degrees on an 18/6 schedule. Humidity has held at 35% (I am not using a humidifier as they seem to be doing well, don't fix if it aint broken) Circulation provided by one 12" Oscillating table fan.

Alright so now that the grow journal update is taken care of I would like to discuss my lack of cloning skills. lol

These poor clones are on day 5. They were taken from the above Widows and I'm having "droop" issues. I don't know if they are stunted or what I am doing wrong.

They are under a dome, on a heat pad, have a small fan for circulation inside dome, I mist them every so often with PH balanced water. They are in rockwool cubes and I used Olivia's Cloning Gel.

I think the problem is when I'm at work. They go 10 hours under the dome before I can get home and open the dome and mist them. I don't have a thermostat for the heat pad (bought it at a pet store, lizard pad thingy) and often times it gets up to 81 degrees or so. Maybe to much heat and 10 hours without mist is causing this?

Alright so here's an update.

All 4 were moved to 12/12 under 1000watt HPS Saturday 1/15/2011

I gave them two days to adjust to their new schedule and I have just performed their final LST and I also super cropped some of them as you can see in the pics. I look for them to bounce back here in a couple days and begin putting some energy into developing some of that lower growth while it repairs it's main stems where I super cropped.

This is it as far as there training, I won't be stressing them anymore and hopefully we get to look forward to some frosty buds to look at here in the next couple months.

These are a Sativa dominant strain (White Widow) so I took extra care to bush them out before moving them to flower. I should end up with roughly 3 foot plants. Unfortunately though I have yet to get pre-flowers on any of these 4. I am taking that as good news though, as I have worked with this strain before and the females always showed pistils much later than the fella's. I may luck out and have 4 ladies here =) (I cloned each of them for another run before putting them to flower. The clones appear healthy now)

Anyway, I'm happy to answer any questions, we are officially on day 3 flower

Once these have been officially sexed, I'll start taking wagers on prospective yield weights. Just for fun of course, but I'm hoping low end I can manage 2-3 ounces per plant now that my environment is locked in and the 1000 watt HPS is running. 4 ounces per plant would be amazing =) I'm using Jack's Orchid Bloomer which is a 1-3-2 ratio fert with micro-nutes including magnesium, calcium, copper, iron, and zinc just to name a few. Because they were vegged for 5 weeks or so, I went ahead and began the flower nutes at full strength as it's a relatively light fertilizer (full strength is 3-9-6)

Cmon man use the MG bloom fertz for flower.
Try it on one ?
Just as the box instructions say, its only 8$
Ill bet its just as good or better (an cheeper)than Jacks.

You could prove its effectiveness to the masses.
Do it for your uncle SCARHOLE?

Are you done with the veg nutes?
I give em veg nutes for the fist week or 2 of flower cause they grow soooo much so fast. The stretch is incredible an eats alot of Nito.

P.s. I found a product called "tomato bloom set spray" by Bonde, containing containing the hormone Kinetin. This suff is incedible at keeping the clones happy. Scientest use it to keep plant tissue cultures alive in labs. I swear they dont even droop when diped in this an then the root powder.

LOL, Miracle Grow Bloom fertz are effective, I'll post a picture up of my girl who's closest to harvest. She was done with nothing but MG Potting Mix and MG all purpose for veg and MG Bloom Booster for flower. I'll hit you up some frosty pics of her tomorrow.

This grow is to demonstrate the MG Potting Mix, I just always wanted to try Jack's fertz, really cheap and I've heard good things. I normally switch to bloom fertz as soon as I switch lighting. I've never had an N issue using 1-2-1 (MG Bloom is 15-30-15) This one is a 1-3-2, (Jack's Orchid 3-9-6) so I was curious if I will notice a difference with the extra phosphorous and potassium in relation to the amount of nitrogen I give. It's also lighter per dose than MG which means I can probably give full dose waterings where I think I was doing 1/4 and 1/2 with MG. It really doesn't matter I guess, just wanted to try the different ratio.

Either way, I think we're going to be into some beefy plants here in the next few weeks, can't wait to see the jungle after the stretch is over =)

Subscribed.
Im a cheep ass MG grower also
Soil, veg an bloom fertz. lol
Always had great results with MG ferts, I just follow the directions off the box.
The all purpose MG fertilizer has most the mico nutes in already. But its missing calcum.

Show em what MG can do.
Heres a pic of my lil ladys.....View attachment 1344399
I just realized how much I like the Folgers containers you use, lol, are you doing a 1 gallon SOG? How close are these girls to harvest now?

I was doing a perpetual sog, but i got spidermites from an outdoor to indoor reveg. Had to scap that an start fresh after the first wave got harvested last month. dam
I liked the folgers cans , but the numbers are to high. They yielded 1/4 to a half oz ish. I dont got scales. lol
5+ plants =11 1/2 in years in prison here. Like i robbed a fuckn bank or somthin? Plus 5 pllants triggers fed charges......

So this time im going with 2.5 gal buckets, vegged for 2 monthes an flowered for 2. 4 plants total.
(2 mothes veg with alot of trianing, i got limited space, see hobbes CCOB tech..https://www.rollitup.org/newbie-central/360125-new-growers-needed-grow-lab-50.html LOVING HIS AIR POTS!!!!!!)

If i start a new plant every month as one harvested, an if yeild a 1oz per plant illl be set perpetualy with a varriety of kind.

Ps. The untrained (natural)plant did best in my lil folgers sog. VS fim and topping ? An even Lst seemed to hinder the yeild in my sog.(with only 4weeks veg in a SOG)

I can't imagine you only pulling 1 ounce if your running only 4 plants, especially perpetually. I would should for 2-2.5 in a 2.5 gallon. You may want to consider at least a 3 gallon bucket or grow bag, 8 weeks veg makes some big plants even supercropping and LST. Shoot me some pics when you get set up. I'de be interested in checkin it out.

I only got 20 in vertical x 36 horizontial grow space.
Makes it a real challenge to get perptual yeild. Espicialy cause my cab is outdoor an the POS space heater makes it hard to keep the temps right. lol
They get heat an cold stressed a lil bit. Much easier in summer for me.

Got to keep it stelthy cause my wifey dont know, an wouldnt approve.

SO I guess we'll be ready for a pic update here soon. I don't have much of a following on this thread but for those of you who are kinda takin a peek every now and then, I'll finish the journal through harvest. I've been busy the last couple days prepping my veg tent for another 8 or so plants. I have 2 Blue Cheese feminized and a Critical Haze feminized, I also have a couple clones of the female from this grow (I hate this Pheno by the way and these clones will be the last I grow of these Widows) so I'll be cloning the cheese and Crit prolly. These plants are extremely picky and have been challenging to keep happy.

I'll be looking for a good production strain for the Summer runs, thinking some BigBud x Skunk possibly. We'll see what feminized seeds I can find for a decent price

Pics soon of the 1 week stretch

WOW Scar looks like a fantastic lineup! I'm definately going to look into the Pineapple Express, White Widow x BigBud, and the Orange Bud. I just had 2 Buddha BlueCHeese beans pop tap roots and a Critical Haze popped this morning. All three feminized and from Attitude. I see you have the Buddha Cheese on your list. I'll let you know and pop a pic or two of her for you as she veg's.

Oh how I love this hobby! I'm still cursing and getting frustrated over cloning though. It's the weak link in my grow lab right now. I just ordered a complete propagation setup, dome, tray, heat mat, thermostat, Superthrive. I have rockwool and Olivia's Gel but man I tell ya I just can't get the hang of it. I'm so bad at it that I can grow from seed and they end up bigger and healthier than my clones before I even begin to get roots. Aren't clones supposed to speed things up? ANyway, if I could afford to run nothing but fem seeds thats what I would do it in a heart beat!

DO you clone Scar? If so how does it work out for you?

Lately I've been being pressured to produce more, so I'm looking at Indica strains of some known producers. (Big Bud crosses, etc) I'm also considering doing one massive run of Aurora Indica (Maybe 8-10 full size plants under 1000 watts which is big for me) I'm not on a deadline but my production pays for my hobby and allows me to upgrade etc. I'm looking for a strain that will give me a large early Summer yield.

This is also why I've been beating myself up over my cloning skills. I really need to get it down to save on my bottom line, know what I mean. =/
