The quickness of the grow is what made me choose them...excuse me for throwing a idea out for him to consider he's in his 60s maybe he don't wanna have to deal with a timer... Sorry I'll just take my stupidity somewhere else

I said I'm starting out NOT THAT I JUST STARTED MY FIRST PLANT! I have growed both and I find it's easier to grow a auto then a normal plant! Btw correct me if I'm wrong but I think he would also be better off buying feminized seeds... Is that a good idea or is that stupid too?
Possibly, but it can be a long process, my entire house smells like fresh buds when I am harvesting.
I just close the doors and lock them and hope no one stops by during that time.

If you can't properly set a timer, you shouldn't be growing cannabis. It really isn't that difficult. I'm sure if you've made it past 60, you can set a timer, no?
Never said you were stupid, but that an auto isn't easier to grow. Still requires care, and attention. I would say you get what you put in. Starting with shit, is going to yield you shit. It is really that simple.
I have no dog in the fight or argument about feminized beans. Besides, if one understands even the basics of genetic recombination, it really isn't a concern, nor present any proof to the argument. I plant them (feminized) from time to time, but I do prefer regular beans. I don't find the argument about inferiority or ruining the genetic pool to be convincing, particularly since amazing strains have come from selfed plants. Besides, it occurs in nature to begin with, but I don't find male plants to be a burden or a nuisance. I see potential for new life, preserving good genetics, and creating new crosses.
I burn a lot of nag champa, candles, keep airflow moving through my apartment. I also have sober noses come by and let me know if they notice anything. Harvested many plants in my apartment with no problem. Ona is an awesome aide to covering up odors while letting the dry cycle take place. I've also used bacon grease (simply heating and cooling it to release the odor) as an effective means to odor coverage. I may be medically legal, but management could kick me out and I have zero protection from that. So far, so good. Just be creative, and think of any odors, even cooking to mask the smell. I also make candles, which is easy and an effective way to covering up the odor.
Curing is self contained, with the jars open, it reeks up my room, but that is only temporary.

You're probably right. I bought the best filter and fan money can buy and probably will try two small plants for the first run. When I say small, I mean 12/12 from seed small. It's basically a PC grow and they won't be any taller.
I've read enough, bought enough, know enough to grow a room full of it. It's just as easy to grow 10 plants as two and all that work for two plants seems like a waste.
I use so little actually it's not really worth growing it. I'm trying to add edibles and topicals though and that could get expensive. I thought about how much money I had spent setting this up today, and it would piss me off if I changed my mind, and didn't grow.
Hell, I "think" I can grow it but even that's TBD. I'm going to try Bubbleponics, so I may never produce a bud that would smell any damn way. I thought about that too, maybe my first run should be bag seed.
Doing a small run first, would tell me how much smell I'm actually dealing with here, then determine what happens next. By the time I grew once and used up what I grew, MMJ should will be legal.

I'm not saying setting a timer is to difficult...with my timer it is because it's not digital it's a analogue piece of shiz lol the part always messes me up of when to switch it over to flowering... That's all I'm saying I'm sorry if I miss lead him in anyway but I do prefer my small set up as to a huge set up...just gives me the piece of mind as I don't need 2 pounds of pot to last me till my next harvest...

I miss an old 80s timer I just pitched. Fuckin timer of three months died on me while I was out last weekend. it sucks but you just go get a new one. Part of being a grower.

No I didn't so can you please sir get off my back I'm just saying it can't hurt to grow one as your first plant... Here let me tell him what you want me to say... Get 3 1000 watt lights and the most expensive seeds money can buy *make sure they ain't feminized so half of them will be male..* sorry if your taking this as being a smart ass but damn make me out to be a royal idiot... Just trying to help! Auto flowers are the simplest method of growing *for me* as I don't have 20+ years of growing weed experience. Another route you could have taken was saying "hey I don't think what he said was very well suited for your particular growing needs here's what I think you should do" p.s you can take all advice from the internet Most of growing is trial and error! And PLEASE CORRECT ME IF IM WRONG but I would think if a Strain has the word "SKUNK" in it...then don't you think it would smell like a skunk? I'm growing sweet skunk auto and my whole bedroom smells like a gigantic pot farm

I agree, "it ain't a bad choice", especially for personal stash grows that are stealth/micro. I don't understand all the hate on autos. I grow em, I smoke em, my friends smoke em. Never, not once, has anyone made any comment about the quality. They gladly give 15-20 per gram and love it. Now, I've only grown 2 different strains of autos, PE from Barney's and NL from Nirvana, so maybe, I just got lucky with these 8 seeds, or maybe these are the only 2 good autos in existence, but I do know that my next bean order has 7 diff auto varieties on it. If he's wanting a quick stealthy grow, then autos may be an option. Visit the auto section of the forum, you'll see some great looking plants

There is a definite difference between autos and the real strains. Hands down, not even close.
Smoke an auto, then smoke the same strain non-auto and you will see the major difference..
This is also a good reason why growers have such better buds than the bullshit sold on the street.
So many rip-off artists running around selling shit like autos and pretending it is real bud.
And the children smoking these days are too inexperienced and stupid to know they are being ripped off.

Truth. any experienced smoker will notice something off with the high of an auto. I couldn't give it away let alone rip someone off. I've smoked enough of that shit which I plan on avoiding in the future. Granted i grow my own so i doubt that will be a problem. if I don't smoke it I won't sell it
I don't grow them at all, my room is too limited.
My best-friend does. His veg box is just a little bit bigger than mine so he will take the auto freebies and toss them off into a corner.
He always gives me some to try out. I have about an 1/8th of NLxBB auto sitting in the closet right now. If you have nothing else to smoke, sure it is ok to have. Even still I would rather get a bag of mexican brick than smoke the auto. While most of the autos I have smoked are more potent than mexican brick, the mexican buzz type is definitely better. Selling auto for 15-20 bucks a gram is a straight up rip-off though. No way is it worth the going price of non-auto buds.

Ya those autos just don't burn.. They may look good, smell good etc. but lack a certain depth.. Some of that shit that you don't smoke unless you have nothing else.
Tried some auto freebies once.. Figured if there wasn't one decent smoke out of 4 that it had to be because they were auto. One looked ok, smelled nice, but still only got a C (maybe C-)

Im working with a strain called Larry bird doesn't smell untill it hits the bag and on day 5 of sweating fuckin reaks. Minimal stretch too for an og. It gets loud in end if you push past 75 days but very stealth to run. Ultra high grade all day.
