Is inflation the right term, or is it greedflation?

(Moving response to a different thread)
Greedflation would be the most accurate IMO.

In a speech this summer, Christine Lagarde cited data from the European Central Bank she leads showing that for the 20 years leading up to 2022, corporate profits were responsible for about one-third of inflation.
Last year, however, that ratio jumped to two-thirds, which means that despite legitimate increases in their cost of doing business, their take-home share of every consumer dollar effectively doubled.

...

Data from the U.S. shows evidence that price increases may have gotten ahead of themselves, too. A report by the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City calculated that markups increased by 3.4 per cent in the U.S. in 2021 — enough to make them responsible for as much as half the increase in the U.S. inflation rate that year.

...

He cites data from Statistics Canada showing that at one point last year, the cost of a unit of labour had increased by a little more than 10 per cent since the start of the pandemic. The per-unit profit, meanwhile, was up by more than 70 per cent over that same time frame.
But the good news, Stanford says, is that trend is starting to reverse.

Snoop Dogg says he’s giving up smoking weed
West Coast rap legend Snoop Dogg is dropping smoke like it’s hot. The Long Beach native made the shocking announcement on social media Thursday morning.

“I’m giving up smoke,” he posted to Instagram and X, formerly known as Twitter.

The caption accompanied a black-and-white photo of Snoop with text that read: “After much consideration and conversation with my family, I’ve decided to give up smoke.”

He ended the note saying, “Please respect my privacy at this time.”

Fans immediately flooded the comment section and thought either the 52-year-old was joking or he was just making the switch to edibles

“I’m sure his account got hacked,” commented one follower.

“But what about our 420 deal?” asked Carl’s Jr.

“This is like me giving up Taquitos,” 7-Eleven commented alongside a few heartbreak emojis.

“I know an ‘I’m doing edibles now’ post when I see one,'” a fan reasoned.

Others commended the Death Row Records owner on his decision.

“Glory!!!! This is amazing. Proud of you Snoop!”

“A Dogg’s gotta do what a Dogg’s gotta do,” commented High Times Magazine.

Famously known for being the consummate cannabis consumer, the Doggfather once said he smoked 81 blunts per day.

He even has a personal blunt roller.

The old saying, absence make the heart grow fonder, is especially true for pot...

Let's see them in coveralls taking out the garbage, cleaning the house and fetching me a coffee, then we'll talk about it. I'm sure many business owners would be in line first for a humanoid mechanical slave, for restaurants, farms, landscaping and industries of all kinds. I mean why pay a human when you can buy or lease a humanoid robot for a couple of years wages and benefits, along with a maintenance contract. Progress in AI and robots has been fast and accelerating, what will 20 years of exponential growth bring? We will have the bodies and it looks like we will have the brains for such things.

Vaporize. I can do it all day long and not get winded. Less worry, too.

I tried a vaporizer with my weed and do not get the effect I get from smoking. I met things half way by sort of doing a mechanical separation of the good stuff and the chaff.
True. You don't get as high, but you taste it better with no carbon. I only want to get lifted, anyway. If I want to get stoned, I'd use kief, or another concentrate.

Getting a mild buzz is part of it but mainly for the pain relief as it is a 1:1 plant. It is basically kief, not enough vegetative material to keep it lit.

The bad things happen when it is lit. Luckily, I don't need it for pain relief yet, but I'm sure I get the other benefits.
edit; what is a 1:1 plant?
edit2: Okay, I found out, but without a lab, how would I find such a strain? I don't want hearsay. I've been trying various brands for pinapple taste Cinderella 99 for years and haven't found it. Same for bubblegum. By chance, I grew bubblegum from Columbian bag seed in 1986 and haven't found it since.

I've been doing that shit trying to find a good 1:1 plant for almost two decades but finally decided it's a fool's errand. I got some 30:1 seeds that someone else sent to a lab for testing and it comes out at 20%+ CBD and 0.5 - 0.8% THC. Once I grow it out and turn it into oil I will send some to a lab in Vancouver that charges $60 for a potency test so I'll know exactly what I have. I also have a buttload of regular pot of various strains saved up to make into oil that I'll have tested at the same time so I can use both to mix at whatever levels I want for making edibles or just putting into caps for medicinal use. I have a bunch of pot from some of earlier 2:1 etc CBD blends that I'm going to make into oil for now as it helps a lot with my arthritis and I haven't been doing any for a month or so since the last batch ran out.

Making oil with organic solvents carries a max penalty of 14 years here in Canada since they 'legalized' pot but the guy at the lab says the cops aren't asking for info on samples they get so no problem sending in oil samples for testing. I was worried about that.

Seriously, Royal Queen Seeds has some beautiful 1:1 CBD/THC phenotypes in their Dance World line. It’s my favorite high CBD variety ever. Look for the short plants that smells like lime rinds.
I had access to the cut of Cannatonic that won the Cannabis Cup and my cut of Dance World put it to shame.

I’m not sure about what qualifies as a “solvent” in Canada. Here in California, I can put a bottle of 151 proof rum, an ounce of weed, into my Magical Butter Machine, and make a week’s worth of tincture in eight hours.
The Magical Butter Machine is the absolute best device on the market for those wanting to make edibles or tinctures.
