Alright lads, been up the walls lately and got a little careless watering the new girls. Say the first two leaf sets of one were touching the top of the coco cause I burnt the shit out of them. New growth seems fine though so not too bad. Might be just me but those airpots are tricky enough to water. I'd be the opposite of that article fred. Just don't think it makes sense to water with plain water the final 2 weeks when this is when most plants put on a lot of their weight. Might apply to soil growing but for coco or DWC I'd be thinking nutes, or at least light nutes, up to the very end.

You're right about the plants bulking up in their final few weeks but if the article is true there is no point in flushing at all.
Considering the amount of crappy sprayed weed etc that's about I think smoking an unflushed plant would be grand.
Hopefully you haven't stressed out your ladies too much.

Interesting link Fred, I'm pondering the value of flushing myself as my nutes are organic biobizz biogrow and bloom, and they say you don't have to flush organic, or then again some folk do, so whats the truth. some other good info there as well.

As Paddy rightly points out plants do bulk up a lot in the last few weeks and can handle a lot of food during that time and every gram counts but if flushing with water doesn't clear them out anyway what's the point, personally I could live with a harsher taste , I love the weed but I doubt I'll ever be a true connoisseur

Thing about organic grows, and you almost need a f*****g degree in biochemistry to understand some of the posts in the organics forum in here, is that you are not feeding the plants, you are feeding the soil. The bacteria in the soil breaks down the organic nutes and the waste product of the bacteria feeds the plant. So flushing does nothing really. What I need right now is a bloom booster, anyone use this stuff ? I'm only organic by chance in that I never knew biobizz was organic till someone told me, folk say add molasses ? any info as to what you guys use as a bloom booster would be a pointer ty.

I used molasses and grotek carbo load only ever, this year I have GH ripen, Biobizz bloom , budblood and some metrop bloom enhancers but haven't used any yet.
I ended up with them all because I bought other things and they came with so I really odn't know how good they are.

molasses isn't worth a fck it only increases bacteria in organic grows. for increasing bud size u need phosphorous. which is expensive hence the price of bloom boosters. use a good quality fert for flowering and booster = results. for vegging most ferts will do, but the mj specific ones are much better. this is for soil based grows.

I have the same one they are selling in the big shop, it's the hortilab,
I'm only using it a few weeks but I am pleased with it, I calibrated it once and then once again to be sure a week or two later and it is spot on.
I bought mine on adverts for 25 quid delivered but I know it's a lot dearer in the big shop.

the og has flipped at the 6th node, fucking things aren`t even in final pots yet, better get them in there tonight, as usual out of the three one is dragging its heels and is at least a week in growth behind the rest and is looking like a stretchy fucker, so think its an ideal candidate for a topping...

the hh are all comeing along grand bar one little runt, still seedlings as of yet in small pots, all green and healthy so far ...;)

start the seeds off under a cfl, or even in the window if you can, until say they put out there 2nd node, then repot them into a slightly larger pot and stick them under the hps, it can be that bit to strong for some strains starting off and i`ve burnt a few aswell....

hang your light and with your palm faceing the bulb (while its on and up to temp) slowly lower it away from the bulb, when you can`t feel the heat thats where the top of the plants go, so lets say its fine about 2ft away from the bulb, them the tops go 2ft away aswell....

raise the bulb as they grow toward it...

thats just a basic tho, need more info, like you growing in a room, a shed, a tent, attic even? soil i take it and even some soils can be too rich or hot and burn them up??

nice to have you along by the way and any question just ask, were here to help if we can...;)
Thanks so much for the advice! They are looking better now. I think I will get some CFLs. From what I read they can be pretty reliable, so it will be a good investment. As far as I can tell I should also be able to use the CFL for vegging. Bonus! Running the 600W light makes the electric meter spin round like a carnival ride...
