not seen any preflowers change colour yet, dont add any bloom until the plants are producing bud, the flowering period is when they start flowering not the light cycle.

as far as i know it's a female. it's shortstuff's autoflowering snowryder. the pics on their site dont show that much foliage either.
heres the pic from their site. also is the pics of barney's farm lsd which did stretch alot after it was put in the 10032011362.jpgconservatory. dont know why? and the preflowers (i think) on the auto. i havnt given them any nutes but the "preflowers" have gone brown at the 18032011406.jpgbottom but are white where the new growth is.
as for the orange bud it is looking better now, and will be moved into a very big pot tonight!!!

Story lads?

Switching the light over to 12/12 tomorrow. I added in the 150 CFL bulb I got for flowering in with the other for the last two weeks and the difference is incredible. They're really short and bushy, so I'm thinking Indica (they're bagseed).
I've four main shoots on one, and six on the other. I haven't had many problems but one of the plants has what I call rust. It's very similar to rose rust which I've seen before. Anyways, I'm off to pick up a PH meter and if that's not the problem, I think it might be calcium deficiency.
I'll have to get my arse in gear and get up a few shots!

just dont over react, if its the ph then it should be straight forward to fix, if its something else like mold then that can cause it aswell. also over watering can cause it due to the plant not being able to get nutrients. get some pics up kubla. lets have a look.
lotus id say its female alright, hope it turns out like that last pic for you. a couple of my plants in flower have totally filled there 12l pots, theyre the big round pots from b and q not sure if they are even bigger than that. the plant i was having problems with seems to have calmed down a bit, most of the fan leaves ahve yellowed and rust spots but all other growth is still green. i repotted again and left it sat on paper towels then put back in pot with dry soil, seems to have done the trick as the leaves curling up have now stopped. cardinal sin to repot in flower but would have died with out doing it, the plant was well and truly fubared.

Some strains have weird coloured pistils, the actual baby calyxs look like they're still healthy...maybe you just have one of those strains? Iv found generally the plant will take resources from everything except the buds first, so if it was a nutrient problem Id imagine the plant would kill leaves, etc first.

they look a weird colour but they look ok as they still have there healthy look and havent started drying up or anything so no worries. harrekin have you had pistils that colour so early b4.
looks very healthy lotus and you should have enough soil for a long while. just be careful though because that cheap soil can have bugs in it! keep a good eye out. i learned my lesson. i understand you have no other choice because of where you live.

I'd very low temps at the start of the grow, but there were no problems during that period, except for really slow growth. This started about 10 days ago and I initially wrote it off to over feeding, as I'd just upped my nutes but it's only happening on some of the bigger fan leaves, the new growth is a-okay. I haven't done any foliar feeding, but the air flow is probably sub-par alright. I had a little oscillating fan set up but started cutting out and I haven't replaced it yet.

Do you reckon it could be donw to air flow? If it is poor air flow, what exactly is happening to the plant? Or what has the bad air flow caused? Also I've another plant in beside this one and it has none of the same discoloration, so wouldn't bad airflow effect both if that's what it is...? Apologies for the noob questions lads...

Here's another pic of the whole plant

Lack of air flow causes the leaves to block up and not breath properly (bit like when we get a cold) although it looks like it's a 1 bladed leaf which would mean it's a immature leaf or genetics are slighty off..
Try and get a new fan in there as soon as you can....

will check the journal now harrekin, kubla i agree with jay, i think that is poor air circulation and FOLIAR FEEDING. plus the fact its an old fan leaf so i would not worry about it. dont fuck something else up trying to fix something that doesnt need fixing. do as jay said and get the fan, its just feeding and damp stale air so the leaf choked and said fuck this for a laugh and commited harri kari.
