I have been googleing them two strains, they look mint.

I was thinking of doing all dutch passion this year.

Around what time did they finnish?
Think I'll stick to an auto-flowering strain, LowRider 2 was good but stunk to high heaven..
Least then you should have them flowering in the height of summer..

Hi All, New to this site....checked it out a few months but it seems to be thrivign in the meantime. Also one of the the band of Irish growers...started a few months back and still in veg state. Realy getting fu*ked around with compost...first one ot two fried my seedlings etc. etc. What do people use for compost...names/type etc??? Living on West coast...can get to Galway, Castlebar etc. etc. if anyone can recommned a good brand etc. Really pissed at this stage as would nearly be cropping if things had gone according to plan. Currely trying to grow AK48...not the size that they shoud be at this stage. Sick of getting overly complicated answers from other site...keep it basic please. Peace to all. RB
Supposingly B & Q Multi pupose compost is the best according to which magazine, I would also add 20 - 30% Perlite..

I'm about to start one, I know thats no use to you but if you give us some more info on your grow ie, Grow area, soil or hydro, air intake/exhaust.. etc etc..
My advice at the moment is, dont cook those babies with the light being to close..

Welcome to the thread.. Although I would prefer it being a bit busier in here..

Hi Jay_normous.
Today is there first day of life 3 out of 5 seeds popped up after some germination issues so there not under the light as of yet. Its in a small hot press type room im just planning on having a small fan circulating the air with no exaust system although im thinking of putting in a extraction fan to blow the air into the attick. this is my first attempt at a grow so im a grow virgin but hoping i can pick up some info here. i have read alot and i understand that with wd auto my 600watt HPS will be plenty for them on a 18/6 light schedule. Any infomation on when to put them under the light would be excellent. Day 1 here lokking forward to harvest hopefully in 70 dys

Cool.. first if all make sure your seedlings dont dry out.
You might want to think about the heat from the light..
Your going to need a exhaust for sure.. even holes in your grow room wall but this would mean you need a strong intake fan... You may want to think about odur issues but that wont happen for a few weeks yet..
Here are some pics of mine from tonight...

This is my Exhaust.

A osiclating fan is needed to blow the fresh air around everywhere, right at the back you should see my fresh air inlet.

This is what my grow room looks like from my shed door... Even crammed the missus tumble drier in there for good measure..!!

This is my Clone / Veg room.. Note evrything inside the rooms are painted white with normal wall paint.
I have 3 seedlings of something, and a clone i took of one of the plants in the flowering room.

This is a heat wire, this really helps seedlings and clones in their early stage.. this is I think is very important, I now have 100% success rate with clones and seeds.

This clone was taken 4 days ago and roots are showing already..
Yound clones and seeds need warmth and humidity.

I use this throughout the early stages and vegging.

Tempreture is very important.. Too hot and the plants will die too cold and they wont grow.. These temps are a little cool but fuck it..

This is my little girl, she is called "Blossom".. she is starting to show her flowers.

7 more weeks and this will be drying..!!

This is called the "Scrog" method.. This shouldn't be tried on your first grow.

Laying flat on my back trimming the canopy last night... Night mare!!

This is a hygrometer.. tells you temp and humidty..

And finally, bit over grown but I like using every lumen off my 250w bulb..!!

Hope this helps for your first grow mate...
Mine isn't 100% perfect but hopefully will give you and idea..

Just quickly.. I use normal compost from the garden centre... Make sure you use perlite too..

20'c is a good temp, during your vegging stage you can put a container of water in your room... this will raise the humdity.. 50% is great for flowering..
I'm not too sure what "Blossom" is.. she is crossed with an good indoor mix i had bought and breeded together..
All the plants you see in the scrog and blossom are 2 diffrent breeds..
Oh the one larger plant in my clone room is BLZ Bud.. Clones will be taken from her for my next grow.
I surggest you get a tempreture gauge, like my white one.. cost a ouple of euro from E-bay..
What size is your room..??
Best of luck buddy..

Thanks Jay i have a temp and humidity gauge on my plants. ill attach a picture if i can.Ok my pics wont attach for some reason. My temp is 20oC and humidity is 66%. 3 of my seedlings are 2 days old and the other 2 popped up over night. Any idea when i could put them under the 600 watt HPS. I have as much room height as i need so i could keep a large distance between light and plant as my light/reflector is on a yoyo system.

Put your germanated seeds in to small pots like in one of the pics I posted earlier..
Then put them under 18/6 of light with the light about a meter or so above them... Make sure they dont dry out..
If you have a see through storage tub then use this to make a humidty dome by turning the container upside down..
This will help in a big way..

Hope this helps..

Will plant a few BLZ Bud clones for good measure but not sure when they'll finish..

I hoping to breed ak-47 X ak-48 x Kush auto flowering... and then I'll have a shit load of seeds to plant for the Wicklow mountains..!!

Whats the story niallo, welcome!

Yea the b.c climet is kinda like ours alright but we get a hell of alot more rain over here, have a snoop around the dutch passion website they have a bundle of outdoor strains but personly i would go with there hollands hope(very mold resistant) and friesan dew( looks fantastic).

Also in the nirvana on caple st you can pick up 5 grow XXX fem beans for 25 quid. Ya cant go wrong there, i tryd there super skunk last year outdoor and it done fairly well.

Hope this helps man.:weed:
