Your lights should be fine. T5s aren't the same as CFLs at all. As long as you are flowering with HPS, you'll get good results.

So i'm only in about 40 pages and couldnt wait to read 60+ more to find this answer out. I've heard AZ saying to not even bother with CFL's for growing.

I'm not sure if that would apply to what I'm using. For veg i have 4-T5 6500k Floro's

For Flowering i have a 400w HPS

Are the floro's no good, should i just use MH to veg? Any input on this would be appreciated, just started my hempy, should have pics and a journal in a day or so!

Thanks for this thread and everyone's input.

i got 3 seeds i cracked, 3 weeks ago, they are some of the strongest seedlings i have seen yet. i got them under a 1000 HPS, alongside a few older plants, i was using 32 Oz soda cups, i converted into hempy pots.

well, they went into 5 Gal pots, which i got filled 80% full, with vermic33%/perlite66% and the main sun leafs on 2 of the 3, are drooping, like overwatering look to them, i put them in larger pots, to help with this, and they seem to be doing better, after 48 hours, lifting up'n all.

i always thoghht you couldnt overwater, if i can figure out my camera, i will post a pic, where do you load your pics here, to get a URL to add to a post?

Click on the little icon that looks like this
and then you can upload right from your computer, or you can type in a url to a hosting site that your pics are on. Either one works.

Took me a week to get thru this WHOLE thread..

I started 20 seedlings in 100% perlite in 16 oz cups. Pics soon.

My question is can I take the two plants that are in a hydroton/rockwool cube in my E&B set up and put them in a 5 gallon bucket?

Flowering for 26 days. They are 3 feet tall.

Ill never grow another way. I love this EASY method.
Been growing since Sep 08 and this is my 3rd grow set up. First was DWC (got a male and the roots were tangled with my females), next was Ebb and Flow (better than DWC) and now HEMPY STYLE!

i had to cut the bottoms off a couple of pots to transplant not too long ago. i was worried about cutting the roots, too. but there was no harm done using a box cutter and just cutting as shallow as possible. some of the roots were cut but it didn't cause any stress whatsoever.

I water my 64oz every other to every third day. You can really "feel" when they need water as the container will be very lite. I use 100% perlite as well.

hey thanks someguy...when do they break ground 2 weeks?

I don't start in hempy... I usually start in rockwool and then move to 16oz cups, 64oz, 2gl, 4gl. I find the growth quicker this way. I do not know from experience but I have read it takes a while to start from seed in hempy. My clones take to the 16oz cups of perlite pretty good though. Hope that was helpful:)

Starting seedlings in hempy takes forever. It is much better suited for rooted clones or transplanted seedlings that are at least a few inches tall.

i always take all my tops or clippins and just stick them in to the bucket they were growing in. I ike to try differnt ways of topping to see how may colas ill get. i know i should only have one plant per bucket, but i just let em root grow for a week or two then chop a few cones off em and kill them. its like a way to save clones.

I know I should started in 1.5 rockwool cubes but I was looking to save some money ...I guess cheaper methods always turn out expensive.
Anyone start seedlings in hempy with success? I guess ok going to be patient and wait. Hey when you say foreever do you mean over 2-3 weeks maybe?
Thanks for input guys
