I know it's not about working out but we talk about diet in here so I thought it relevant.

Had blood work and a UA a couple weeks ago, got the results yesterday. Doc said labs were great. Blood was great, urine was fine, cholesterol excellent, kidneys/liver excellent.

Nothing wrong with the paleo diet. He also commented on my Vibram shoes and said he has a pair also and loves them.

Hey blazin, what does your ab workout look like and how often do you do it? I'm looking for some good ab exercises

And damn dude, 15, that's perfect. When you're really light with hardly much body fat and strong as fuck in the upper body, the pull ups are super easy! I remember last year when I was at the peak I could jump a 7' wall like it was nothing, it actually really surprised me how easy it was the first time it was that noticeably improved.

Nice, good info. The Paleo diet makes the most sense to me, especially compared to something like Atkins rofl!

picking things up and putting them down is straight and all, but there is nothing like real world exercise. I race motocross and have never gotten anywhere near the same work out as i do on the track doing 30 mins +2 laps!! do what makes you happy, if you do it enough and its physical you will be fit in no time.

Just passed the 200 mile mark and I just picked up two 15lb dumbells yesterday, I also finally picked up a scale and checked my weight and was shocked as fuck!

195lbs. I thought I was closer to 185! I've got 15lbs to lose so I'm going to diet like crazy for the rest of the month and run a couple miles at least 5 times a week. I'm also going to cut way back on the alcohol.

One more thing, previously, in the past 7 years I've smoked weed just about every single day except for a 3 month stretch when I moved to Arkansas, as of today I'm 9 days clean and probably for good until I move out of my dads house and become financially stable. I know that doesn't sound like very much, but it's quite a significant accomplishment to me. This is the first time I've been able to save money that entire time. I had a serious lack of self control or motivation, I'm looking to change all that around and take some control over my life.

Just wanted to share that as this thread is dedicated to motivation

Working out will definitely show you to be disciplined......you know what melts fat....biking.....I used to ride 15-20 miles a day 3 times a week at a 12mph-18mph pace and I actually lost too much weight......and it's a lot easier on the ankles compared to jogging.........I actually had to stop riding as much because I looked like a crack head....lol.....stay motivated and dedicated......you can do it!

Sounds like u should seriously reconsider ur calorie intake. If u ended up looking like a crack head it wasn't because u were riding too much its cause u weren't eating enuf. The body can only work with what you give it, so if its not getting enuf carbs and protein it will consume things like ur own muscles. So u might think ur getting a good work out, but in reality ur pushing ur body too much with no energy source so ur muscles r consuming themselves for energy.

P.S down to 205lbs as of this morning. I might actually break the 200lbs barrier for the 1st time in years.

I was being a bit sarcastic..........but I did loose some muscle from all that cardio/which was what I was going for but I went a little overboard.......I have gained some of it back now and only ride 1-2 time during the week or alternate with jogging.......a combination of calisthenics, cardio, weight training & a good diet has me in pretty decent shape......I hover around 147-152 lbs. now (5'6") I feel good at this weight........

p.s. you will break that 200lbs barrier in no time........

so with april almost here and the weather starting to get nicer I thought this deserved a bump.

Its almost summer and almost beach body season again, I have cold air asthma so with things being warm out today (in philly) I took advantage of the weather to do my old routine from last year. today was the first day in a few months I've exercised and I ran 3 miles, did the cardio abs p90 workout and a few sets of circuit lifts with free weights. The running sucked terribly but now that I'm done I'm feeling pretty awesome but want to hit it harder tomorrow

anyone else starting to come out of hibernation into workout mode?

Pushups, handstand pushups, and some jkd. The new workout is putting my kid on my shoulders and walking up hills. Oh and some yoga.

I was actually planning on starting up again April 1st, so that's this Monday. I haven't exercised in quite a while, I actually gained some weight so I'll be focused on weight loss for the first time in my life, so if anyone has any tips on that, I'd appreciate it. Basically eat less, workout more.. eat healthy, basic stuff.. More cardio than weight training. The first month is going to suck.

was planning the same but the weather was too nice and I have a totally free day so i figured why not. a lot of people put on weight in the winter the only advice I can give is like you said more cardio and to monitor your intake and avoid unecessary dairy and carbs. example, I had grapes apples yogurt and melon with tea for breakfast and a protein zone smoothie post workout and a chicken ceasar salad with light dressing for dinner later. during the summer I do p90x regularly and go on a high protein little to no fat diet. I basically do no dairy and carbs and take in a ton of protein with boca burgers yogurt and protein shakes. those 3 foods are my primary for protein and all contain a minimum of 15 to 1 protein to fat ratio.

my goal in the summer is to be lean and cut not jacked, im tall with a soccer player build.

if you really wanna lose weight though come to electric zoo at the end of august and dance your ass off, I lost 15 lbs in 3 days while eating mcdonalds ihop and crap venue food. but it was basically 36 hours in 3 days of dancing hard as fuck

I wasn't going to mention that I dance in my kitchen. Usually to help burn the beer calories it takes for me to dance in my kitchen.

If you want to loose weight.....a good place to start is to plan a diet.....eat every 2-3 hours and only eat enough, never eat until you are full....big no no.A lot of smaller meals through out the day increases metabolism which in turn = more energy.

Eating is more important than a work out because the food you eat fuels you for your work out.

My daily intake is carefully monitored and planned before hand.If I am going to have a busy day I make all my meals the night before. The reason most of us eat junk food is because it is fast and convenient when we are on the move.

My daily food intake looks like this:

1 hour after I wake up 2 eggs, 2 egg whites, 2 pieces of 12 grain bread ,16 oz. water or 8 oz. of milk
2 hours later 1 can tuna (plain) on 2 pieces of 12 grain bread, 16 oz water
2hours later 1 piece fruit 1 turkey sandwich plain, 16 oz. water
2 hours later protein shake 16 oz water
2 hours later 1 piece chicken breast (not fried) cauliflower and broccoli 16 oz water
2 hours later 1 turkey sandwich 16 oz water.

Stop food intake 2 hours before sleep.Keep in mind I am on a high protein diet and I eat a lot of carbs because I work out 3 days on 1 day off.I have lean muscle,14 inch biceps,15 inch calfs,20 inch quads, 38 inch chest,30 inch waist and weight 149 lbs. and I am a mere 5'6.I don't eat refined sugars,no fried foods.I only drink water and milk, occasionally I will drink o.j.

Hope this helps some one.......remember most of it is psychological once you get over that hurdle it is easy sailing.Best wishes everybody.Stay fit and healthy : )
