Crazy the kind of gear you guys use on the river.
I have never fished a river, but what you are using is on par with bottom fishing gear in the northeast.
I have a few avets, and a tac16. 60lb hollow braid to 80lb mono on my ready for almost anything setup.
My striper setup would make you chuckle, 20lb braid to 15lb mono. Casts great, and good for any keeper around here.

I use my boat sturgeon setups for ocean fishing too. Halibut, rock fish/lings and shark.

I have seen sturgeon gear used on tuna. We do use some heavy gear in many cases on the river lol.
This is the dude that makes the jig's I use.

A couple of 2.5 bed fish.
Both on bed. Flipping a white soft plastic 3.3 swim bait.
Must have just gotten to their spots. Tails are not worked at all. But very protective of that space already. Didn't see a female on either bed.
Only saw 1 other on bed but he was skittish.
Water temp 60 degrees on the dot.

From a small lake in northern California. That's just dirt and small leaves on the fish.

Up on the sac along 160 where you used to be able to park and drop down to fish, I showed up to one of my favorite bank spots and right as I showed up some dude who must have spent the night there took off. I get down there and think. What a fucking pig. Trash and cans. So I hook up bring her in. Perfect fat keeper sturgeon. Drag it up the bank and it went right over where the motherfucker took a shit and just barely covered it with some rock. Shit all over the sturgeon. Back it went in the water. It was that sturgeons lucky day. I never really kept that many but I was def planning on keeping that one.

We haven’t had enough rain this year so there patterns have changed there working the creeks . Was hoping the rain that just past us hit above the lake to get them going .
Grab your fishing pole and put a red fin on .
