I am very upset with myself right now.

I swear what I am going to tell you trully happened.

I was bank fishing at a local pond by my house. This pond has some massive bass, catfish and carp.

I was using a black and blue thunder cricket with a 4 inch green pumpkin fluke as a trailer.

I am fishing parallel to the bluff wall when I hit what I thought was a snag. Welp no..... not a snag. Next thing I know my drag is screaming, I'm screaming and the geese are screaming....

This fish is fucking huge. But it's not a bass.....

I hooked a huge carp. A big ass fucking carp ate my chatterbait..

Here is where I am pissed at myself.

I got it to the edge of the pond after letting it tire out. 15 lb fluorocarbon and my stupid as decides I can boat flip this.... Momentary lapse of sanity....

I lost the fish, my chatterbait, and well deserved pictures.

Worst of all is I know better.
I've seen several rods snap like that , look at the bright side !

Wuss
I used to fish carp on the regular
Burned up a ton of reel drags on four lb test and had the attention of everyone in the park
Met so many people who were fascinated with fighting big fish on “thread “:joint:

Nah
Just hook on to your buddies pick up truck
Same feeling
Lures are pricey though
I was just jerking your chain
A bad day of fishing beats any day at work :bigjoint:
Chatterbaits roughly $12. Luckily I bought a shit ton during a fishmas sale at shop karls. I picked up 20 of them at %50 off.

The other unfortunate factor is because I have so many of them I am willing to throw them into stupid ass areas no one else would throw them. I lose a decent amount but I also catch a ton of fish others won't catch lol.

To boldly go where no chatterbait has gone before is my motto. :bigjoint:

Rods snap from retards grabbing and holding their graphite rods midway while the rod is loaded up. I’ve never done it but have seen it plenty lol. Sucks when its your rod the lame was holding while fish on lemme tell you.

I dont think i’ve ever seen a glass rod break. Maybe the tip.

Yep. It's a heavily pressured body. I have only seen 2 other people catch bass there while I have seen countless try and fail. Most don't go back after the 3rd skunk lol
I’ve never seen a Bass pulled out of there but I haven’t fished it much at all. Years and years ago me and my fishing buddies used to release big catfish and small sturgeon in there. Every once in a while I’d read in the local newspaper about someone catching a “big one” in the C. C. Pond.

I will share with you in the past 10 days I have caught a 5 and a 6 but the 6 was gut hooked so I got it back in the water before getting a pic and then a massive carp.

Not to mention multiple 2-3 lb bass and that crappie.

People have told me stories of a sturgeon in there. I didn't really pay much mind to it. So you are telling me you personally put at least one in there?

Well shit. That hasn't seen salmon eggs. That's damn near a sure thing to catch lol.

Yes I’ve absolutely put at least one sturgeon in there, but that was back in the mid 70’s. We also used to stock the Dover Park pond. I put a 12lb catfish in there and about a month later a kid caught it.

Civic Center was getting stocked yearly for Kids day of fishing. For many years until covid. But it looks as if they are doing it again this year.

They basically dump about 100 bass from farm ponds into the pond and let the kids catch them for a weekend.

It's actually a really cool thing they do for the kids that I get to reap the rewards of all year long. Lol.

I have not fished dover but always say I'm going to. I really should.

It used to be stocked with trout for the Kids Fishing Day. You’ve got me wanting to go fish the Civic Center now, lol!
