Im a bit confused. The title says a 1lb led grow was that just the target or did that happen someplace and I missed it? I looked through the posts and see a grow going It doesnt look like enough sites to get an lb dry when its gets done but maybe I missed something?

Welcome Brother FilthyFletch. The 1lb Is Just A Target.Ive Already Hit 8oz With 1 Plant And 10+oz From My Last 2 Plant Grow.I Do Belive That This Goal Is Indeed Reachable.

Whats up brother roller.Yes your temps are too low and thats what could be causing your slow growth.Whats your light height??

My light panel is 20" above the top of the plant... How about if I put one of my big, hot, 200 watt CFLs in my cabinet off to the side? I think that would warm it up.

Oh Hell No A 200 Watt Cfl Is Way Too Much Brother Add A Couple Of 23 Watt 5000k's.I Like My Temps Between 75-80 Degrees. However I Do Have Central Heating And Cooling So I Just Adjust My Theromstat. Also Your Growing A Indica Dominate Lady So She's Going To Be Short With Tight Nodes.Best Advice For Indicas Is To Veg Them Biotches For 8 Weeks :peace:

Love seeing the Area 51 stuff in action. I'm ordering two of the 190 next week to do a 4x4 tent shoot out with the Mars II 1200.
Ok Im Not Even Going To Ask Why You Bought A Mars II.

Awesome journals Dawg! I am just catching up on all your work and it's very impressive :) I got my RO and meters from BulkReefSupply too! Those guys are simply awesome! Great support and great products; they talked me through installing my RO because I'm a complete plumbing noob. You won't believe how great the water out of an RO tastes compared to tap/brita or anything else. If you're ever looking for another pH meter, the HM fromBulkReef is really really awesome. I pretty much only have to calibrate it once a month and even then it's only off by a tiny amount. Also it's one of the only meters that measures pH to a hundredth of a point instead of just tenths. One thing I discovered about pH meters is that whichever one you are using, the electrode storage solution is essential. That's what'll keep it deadly accurate use after use.

On another note, you have really turned me on to Area 51. Based on your journals, and the input of others, I am strongly considering investing in a few panels. I can't decide if I should go with the new all white XGS-190 or the SGS-160. I am wondering about how the all white XGS spectrum will do in flower as compared to the white/red SGS. I know you have two panels coming to you, so I'm very curious as to what your opinion is?

Keep rockin' these journals brother!
Right On Brother Redoctober.Thats The 1 Thing I Diss Like About These Blue Lab Pens They Only Read To The 10th.I Will Check Out Bulk Reef's Pens After Christmas.I Kept My Hana Wet At All Time's with 7.0 Buffer Solution And I Agree Most Pens Need To Be Stored In Their Own Brands Storage Solution.Blue Labs Suggest Storing Them In The Cap With A Few Drops Of Water Or A Few Drops Of 4.0 Buffer In The Cap.

To Be Honest I Really Dont Think It Matters Which Light You Buy As Far As Spectrum Is Concerned Their Perty Close.Ive Started With A Gen1 Light And Every Light They Have Come Out With Since Has Out Performed The Last.Im Very Excited To See What These Xgs's Can Do Vs The Sgs's.:hump:

Thanks brother Dawg. Next time I'll plan for a longer veg, but it doesn't fit my schedule this time. Going on vacation at beginning of March, which means that flower HAS to start end of next week. I'll find a way to raise the temp up to 70-72° F.

Ok Im Not Even Going To Ask Why You Bought A Mars II.
I feel compelled to answer anyway I hope that's alright. HPS was no longer practical in my situation. I needed to cut down on power consumption heat \ ventilation. Obviously LEDs are very compelling. I'd tried them some years ago with 1w penetrators from HydroGrow and they basically sucked but they still work and I still use them in my propagation tents. Anyway I started researching and a lot of people on another forum seemed really excited about TopLed. There were a couple completed grows when I bought mine that looked good and honestly so far they've worked for me too. I've grown some very fine looking plants under the MarsII 1200 and I'm excited to see it in bloom. I guess my reasons for choosing that particular brand was price. Everything else was going to cost 2-3 times as much and I didn't have thousands to light my little 4x4.

The Area 51s I see as more of an investment and the MarsII was more a means to an end. I had a very bad experience with TopLED as a company but I can't honestly say I am dissatisfied with the results of their product. I already like it better than my HPS. That being said I would not order from them again because they are sketchy as fuck. The warranty they claim to have they just make up as they go along. They've also shipped a large number of units that are pretty fucking dangerous to use because they are filled with metal shavings that could easily cause a short. What did they do to correct that situation? They amend their warranty to say that opening the unit voids the warranty so you can't even check. lol

The light works but the company is fairly criminal and could not operate in the US the way they do currently in China. These things are built by hand in horrible conditions in a place where there are no environmental laws at all and they will put you in prison for trying to form unions. I have mixed feelings about my communist grow light.

Ty My Brother For An HONEST Answer.Like Ive Always Said These Cheap Chinesee Led's Will Grow Bud And Some Units Do Last Longer Than Their BS Warranty. If It Were Me And You Might Have Already Done This I Would Take It Apart And Blow And Dry Brush All Componets Making Damn Sure All Metal Shaving Have Been Removed.Hell Brother If This Light Last's You Could End Up With A Decent Veg Panel :peace:

Just to clarify. I believe the A51's are also made in China. The only thing USA about them is the design from what I've read.

The diodes are American and the units are assembled in America. The drivers, housing, heatsink, and fans are Chinese but the American Cree diodes are the important part. Also the fact that the company is based in America means they have to play by certain rules the Chinese don't.

Oh, so A51 only buys Diodes from the Durham plant? I'm pretty sure the majority of Cree diodes are made in Huizhou China, so getting a light with 100% USA diodes is definitely worth the extra $$$.

Yes 98% of the leds on the market are made in China/Taiwan .......I think Nichia and Ledengin(?) are one of the few that don't manufacture over there

I could be mistaken, but I thought I read a post stating they purchase from either digi-key or mouser, or maybe it was ledgroupbuy. But that was quite a while ago.

Brother Dawg, how are those nasty Ass sluts doing?

So the build quality you get in the A51 appears primarily related to their claimed selection of top-bin Diodes. That and we're assuming you'd get better QA from the USA-based assembly. I tell you what though. I work in product manufacturing, and can personally attest to shoddy quality we often get from USA-made parts. USA-made isn't always better. Remember how spoiled a lot of us Americans are. Low-paid workers here tend to get disgruntled easily, and often times perform far worse than their Asian counterparts.

I'm guessing that A51 wants repeat business (albeit not mine anymore). It's more than likely their QA is far superior to the Chinese Blackdog clones.
