really nice pricing on the eb2, and eb3 looks sweet too, eagerly awaiting undervotling/undercurrent results for them, which lumen per watt are acheivable.

But the best light is the light what you have working for you :bigjoint:

Am quite happy with the plain old 3000K 80 CRI LM301b setups i use, have nothing to compare exept 3500k 80cri CXB3590.

The 3x3 6x288 panel HLG320 setup who draws 280W at the wall.
A little light burn here n there, but nice buds would say.... and quite some.

the 2.5x2.5 6 panel HLG240 Setup , draws 220W at the wall.

even more light stressed, maybe need to dial in my nutrient regime also a bit, VPD etc.
RH is higher in the small tent.

this could become one of the best results i had so far, my needs will be covered for some time.
Looks really good bro..can I ask how high u keep quantums to your canopy and does your setup put off much heat?

thanks, i go really low.
Canadian? metric?
Mine are maybe 10-15cm away on the hlg240 setup, on the hlg 320 a bit more.
But i am still learning, light intensity is a bit too much atm.
I aimed for 65k lux at the tops, they got and getting more, looks like it is a tad too much.
Lots indica in this strain, a sativa may would take it better.
Leafs dont like it, buds dont mind and get frosty.

For heat, no concern at all, theyre maybe 30C atm., small setup lil lower bigger lil higher.

You will need more distance for sure, i drive 6 boards at roughly half the power of your panel setup with 4 panels.

Btw. nice complete spectrum you bought there, will give a nice mix.

Cheers bro.

I'm really excited to try these lights out. Steering clear of cobs (as a first time grower, and leaning more towards radiant heat, full spectrum and resin production)

Will definatley keep the quantums and cmh at least 24" away from canopy since I'm running a screen

So Rita fang made a post on Facebook the other day advertising some lights with certificates from osram and Samsung. The Samsung certainly were for the LM2835 diodes but yet they claim LM301B are used. I called her out asking for the proper certs with no reply back. 2EC4C904-E879-4839-9344-2B6F8A2C7C0B.jpegF7A31B8A-9A84-40C1-B1BC-0555224F4607.jpeg

It's funny u say that.
I had bought 3 luma b4 citizen 1212 cob bars from Hortibloom.
And messaged them for 2 months asking them For a par coverage chart at certain hanging heights as their website didnt have that info and their CEO ignored me........ For 2 months. When I started a return claim with paypals buyer protection she magically responded within 10 minutes.
Needless to say I'm getting my 700 bucks back.

Not a good idea to ignore the smart cusumers. Its bad for business, especially when they tell everyone on the forum that u crooked

Anyone know what bin the bava boards use? They make the same claim as everyone about the lm301b but I dont know if it's TRUE. I am happy with my board from them but I'd like to know as I'm considering getting more.

Kingbrite statet they are using S0 bin, incl. a certificate (worth the paper probably).
So i ordered S0 bin from digikey for my repair job.
Can say that they look and behave the same, while have no possibility to make deep tests.
In the end i think it is all pretty near.
Safe bet to get a real top bin is for sure buying from HLG.
Depending where youre located in the world another option are the chinese boards, to make sure they work effective, buy more drive em low, enjoy.

you need to read more
its lm2835/3030 its the chip type
and the lm3030 have the lm301b diode.... its makes you look stupid
Depends on how you look at it.

I had an american light manufacture tell me dont buy a chinese board with lm301h because their only 6500kelvin.

So I questioned the chinese supplier. Said they dont come in 6500k and they told me they come in all colours of kelvin.
I looked at the chips info for lm301h on samsungs website and sure as shit they come in in 2700k up to 6500k

You dont learn if you dont question

Hey guys, new to the community, have some specific questions and want to ask in the appropriate area:

I'm focusing on the hlg 550 @ a 3500k spectrum but I have a few options: 3500k + 600nm Epistar, 3500k+ 600nm CREE or 3500k+UV+IR+reds

From what I understand the IR feature may cause extra heat. Is the UV+IR feature worth it if using scrog, quick flip to 12/12 after screen mostly filled, with 4x4x80 tent? what about at 72" height? I don't want to burn the canopy due to hanging height.

If not IR+UV, is the $100 extra worth it for CREE instead of Epistar?

Completely new and gathering knowledge,
Thank you

Which company is selling them?
Do you mean + 660nm red?
100 bucks not worth it imo
For the extra 100 bucks you could buy another couple of boards.
I'd go for the full shebang, 35000k 660nm 730nm and uv. Probably uv-a 385nm.
I've a couple of boards similar to the above, I call them Disco Boards lol, 240 watt boards, 576 diodes.
You should be ok height wise .
550 18 inches away from canopy at full blast. Just start around 24" and gradually lower until they get used to light.

kingbrite (not sure if we can link them) from what i understand the 550 is perfect for the 4x4. If sticking with 80" height I could eventually max out with (4) 4x4s or (3) 5x5s, but it seems like the 4x4 is much more popular and I don't want to make things even harder to figure out. I've been looking at this off and on a few months and still don't have a solid roadmap from start to finish and feel like if I were to acquire that information I'd have more luck researching the 550 in a 4x4. It may be a new offering to get them preloaded with their "UV+IR" spec and I just don't know enough about it. Thank you for the specifics on height requirements, I'm not sure if that changes if I did go with the "UV+IR" though and don't know how tall things would really get with the scrog and short veg time

Stick with 4x4's it makes lighting it up much easier.
Don't over think the situation.
Buy one and try it out. Best case it gains you a tiny bit of quality and worst case it cost you a bit more and doesn't gain you anything.
If you spend another couple of months thinking it over there will be some new board or new supplement to think about.
Take the leap.

Lovely Rita Fang.. .She got that nice shiny hair. I wonder if she uses head and shoulders.
So ordered the the new v3 lm301h
480 watt uv and ir off baba.
I paid 550 total canadian WITH shipping included and just paid 30 dollars canadian in import duties.
So 580 cad delivered to me door.
As u can see from the picture below.its shipping from china to Alberta in 5 days. And will be here on my doorstep in EXACTLY 7 days. It shipped DHL.
So any HLG fan girl.trying to yse shipping from China takes months over HLG its.all.nonsense

Also HLG is one of only qb companies who use top bin

Chinese companies would use low or middle bin

Only difference between top to low bin is 15% max. And top to medium bin 10% max

So if you feel you need to spend 3 times more for an HLG go right ahead.your choice. But unless your dialed in in every aspect of your grow it's a waste of money.
