my friend wants to use 4 sets in a 4x8 tent and 1 to veg.
Yes, its a good deal. But with some caveats:
- Not sure about the drivers, hlg240-48B will only reach 48 V and i thinknits too low, but not sure. Hlg240-48A will reach 53 with voltage adjustment set to the highest. But it means you have to dim on the driver using a screwdriver. I believe this is what HLG riginal qbs use.
- Form factor: not sure if you get a nice even spread to the sides and corners with 2 boards on the same heatsink but if you find that you wanna change this just take the heatsinks in to a work shop and have the cut in half and make a frame.

Should i maybe ask for indvidual heatsinks and a 240 48a no dimmer switch? Thanks for the help.

And if those boards are wired for 48V? 16S18P instead of 18S16P?

I must be high, didn't see the *2 in there. How many kits in 1 carton?

1 carton says 1248 chips, 480W. I'd assume that carton stands for a light similar to hlg 550. The led count comes out to 4x312 chips on a hlg 480 driver or maybe even 2 hlg 240's.

Is that Meiju?

Actually it's a light kit packed in a cardboard box with paid shipping to USA only. Kits are listed as sets but those are without packaging/handling/shipping fees sold to the rest of the world. Since USA looks like their biggest market target the offer a delivered product just like amazon prime for example.

Can anyone recommend a good value replacement for 4KW of hps? The simpler the better!
You need 8 x QB800 lm301b to replace 4kwh HPS. Actually that 2 of them replace DE Gavita 1000.

Here you go:
https://app.alibaba.com/dynamiclink?touchId=60777913781&type=product&schema=enalibaba://detail?id=60777913781&ck=share_detail&ck=share_detail&shareScene=buyer

Those are 480W lm301b boards. They go for $130 each. You will need to get heatsinks and drivers separately. Otherwise you can go with Meijiu's 320watters, but you'll need more boards.

Basically the 480W ones are these:
