No, LED heat is harder to control then HPS in my experience. You can duct hot air for the HPS , cant really do it for LED.
Interested in knowing the setup still.
Because venting won't cool the room. Your cooling the light ex amount of degrees.

If you went from hps down to led whatever you where cooling the room with your hps should easily cool the room with LEDs with that closet I'd assume at best you have a 400 watt LED?

If you didn't have cooling and just vent then you had heat issues. Point is I have never seen a viable study show led produce denser buds more terps or thc. Its bro science.

Hence the suggestion you altered the environment with your much cooler lights bringing heat down which gave you a better product or you spent $1200 on it instead of $200 on a 1k hps and feel embarrassed and just defending a non refundable purchase.

I did see John test his hps led and CMH and his CMH had higher thc but you say its other way around. I think you made an expensive purchase and you just want it to work but $200 would have gotten you 2 per of quality and the rest could have went to the environment or some Archive genetics

Id go with de hps. Gavita is the way to go . nothing is gonna out produce those . I use a QB to veg and hps with cobs to flower but I'm gonna grab a nice de gavita here soon. You must have high ceilings to run them tho
Funny you mention DE Gavitas...

Same crap as I spewed in the last thread... that is, most LED companies are trash and you should be very skeptical about almost anything they say. That said, a few companies have a history in the game and are offering a warranty that covers your initial investment over hps. If you can’t get a 3 year warranty (Samsung, CLW (5), BlackDog, etc) don’t risk it imo. And just cause it says warranty absolutely does not mean they will honour it. The 3 I listed will.

That said as well, I made my own Cobs and never regretted it, but I wasn’t referring to DIY above. Cheers. Because I know Timber and alike are making some bangers.

Well there are studies out there that show exactly that: https://www.karger.com/Article/Fulltext/489030

The condensed version is, LED has more blue and produces more cannabinoids than HPS. It's not bro science. It's real science.

We've also done other studies comparing different LEDs with varying amounts of blue, near-UV, UVA and UVB to see how their cannabinoid and terpene profiles change and the results were interesting: https://www.rollitup.org/t/thc-cbd-terpene-test-results-uva-vs-uvb-vs-none.1001617/

Yields are a no-brainer: watt-for-watt LED beats HPS, and this is being proven over and over again in grow rooms around the world. Most people don't realise how good LED can be until they try it themselves. And almost no-one goes back to HPS after trying it.

I agree that LED manufacturers only have themselves to blame for people's skepticism. There have been a lot of bullshit claims about LED in the past and when they have failed to live up to the hype growers have rightly rubbished them.

But times have changed, and LED technology is now way ahead of HID technology. LEDs are becoming cheaper and more efficient all the time. And there are some decent LED companies in the market who are determined to keep it real and not make exaggerated claims knowing that it only harms the industry. They're out there if you look for them. ;)

No worries mate. I think we just have to accept the HPS vs CMH vs LED debate will continue for some time until the technology has completely proven itself.

The funny thing is, I remember growers talking about CMH lamps back in the early 2000s and no-one wanted to give up their HPS lamps for them and all of a sudden, like 5 years ago or so, everyone started buying CMH lamps and seeing the results.

A lot of the time, people just need to try things for themselves to be convinced.

What strain is that? King Kong’s Kock?
The Bud shot is Acid by Paradise Seeds (NYCD hydbrid). The first room is full of a Chimera strain called Mental Floss (Blueberry x mystery indica). The 4x4 tent that's full of buds is a strain called Amnesia OG (Amnesia Haze x OG).

LEDs come in all shapes and sizes but the one thing they all have in common is that the good ones work just as advertised.

Here's another tent full of skunk/afghan crosses. These are a couple of different grows in the same tent. I'm sure the growers don't mind me posting these.
