Unfortunately, some of my new grow gear was delivered damaged, and needs to be replaced. This has delayed the construction of my new set-up and is forcing me out of the comp. Sorry, guys, I was really looking forward to this. Maybe next time, but for now...

Keeping it short and sweet!
I germ in toilet paper because it's easier to get out a snagged tap root.As you can see I let the seeds pop all the way out the shell before I put them in the soil.IMG_20150826_130530_hdr_kindlephoto-297816002.jpg
SOIL--I'll be using Baccto soildrop_premium.jpg amended with a little blood meal and will feed with MG tomato feed if/when necessary.

LIGHTS--Will be my diy 5 bulb fixture20150829_191242_kindlephoto-36477718.jpg 20150829_191316_kindlephoto-36527850.jpg with 2 23w 2700k,2 23w 5000k and one 9.5w 5000k led,a whopping 101.5 total watts.Set to my usual 12.5hrs on/11.5 off

STRAIN--Is a little Mexi brick weed that was some good smokedownloadfile-1.jpeg and had some purple in it,so I saved 5 seeds for the comp;)

Strain name: 2 x Original Afghani (Freebie from Herbie's, supposed to be like Seedsman Afghani #1) Regular Seeds.
Nutrients: Fox Farm Nutrient Trio (Big Bloom, Grow Big, Tiger Bloom) and Botanicare Cal-Mag Plus
Lights: 2 x White Case Mars Hydro Disco Blurple LEDs ("300 Watt" (60x5W)) pulling a whopping 137 Watts each from the wall, plus 2 x 150W CFLs @2700k and 2 x 60W CFLs @6500k. 12/12 schedule.
Medium: Black Gold Organic and Natural soil amended with Dolomite Lime, Espoma Rose Tone, Bone Meal and extra Perlite.
Germination date: 08/27/2015 (planted 08/24/2015 directly into final medium)

Who knows? Maybe I will get a female, maybe I won't. Only popped two beans. We shall see. I almost dropped out for a number of different reasons, primarily because I didn't feel I could dedicate the space, time and attention resources to it, but I'm on board. My goal, assuming I get a lady, is to finish. Anything else is gravy. They are taking center stage in my flower tent, so I hope to crap I notice any cock and balls early on.

Week two update

Saturday, i topped all four. The nodes are real tight, it was hard to get in there, one or two might have actually got fimed instead. The purple widow is the biggest and the lemon kush is smaller but also a few days behind. I found two roots poking out the drain holes already and trimmed them back. I thought the holes would be small enough to keep the roots out but it looks like i was wrong. One pic is before the top and one is after.

Your plant reminds me of one of my entry's last round. I almost chose her but I had a feeling my final entry was going to be a little better which was the case. But this one I let finish in her cup to see how she would finish and she grew 27 inches tall and produced 23 grams. I'm amazed at what these plants can do in such a small medium. I haven't hung my Inda gro yet but looking forward to it. Hopefully soon.

Weekly Update #1:
I am going to try my hardest at Sundays but on occasion it might have to be a different day - I am an active motherfucker that doesn't like to be home.
It might be hard hard for anyone to imagine how one of these weak ass plants is going to win this comp but stranger things have happened. I am #35 on the list of competitors, I will not remain that number in the end, it might be a bigger number, it might be a smaller number!!!!

As you can see this shit has not changed much. The long stalks have straightened out a bit. The cup in the back right corner has germinated but has, for the last week, sat just below the surface and has made no attempt to do anything significant for sustaining life....fucking slacker.
Although it is against my normal sensibilities to provide any nutrients at this point, I am going to add nutrients to the reservoir today, these 'lil ones will just have to deal with it.
