Testing PPM?

Hey guys just got my PPM meter today and was wondering how I could test the PPM of my soil without using runoff water?

i've never heard of anyone testing the soils ppm...i think it would be off the charts.
you only need to check the water/nutes going in.

See that's exactly my dilemma I'm trying to find out what the PPM is already without needing to test the runoff water because I just watered the other day and did not want to water them again and risk over watering them just to find out what the ppm is.

I'm on total slow down restriction right now, takes me like 20 minutes to post, Mods don't realize I come from the original internet days where you signed on, went to dinner, came back and hopefully you were on. ANYWAYS, doesn't Advanced Nutrients tell you how to check your soil PPMS? Gotta be a chart somewhere, some scientific research had to be done on it by their top notch team. HMM?
