That is the most flawed reasoning I have ever read.
You are growing in a closed environment, it's not the same as outdoors.
My tent and gear is washed and sterilised before the start of every grow. I also sweep around the pots regularly and clean up any mess straightaway.
BotaniGard 22WP. You're welcome in advance.Everyone is freaking out because there's like a 1/4 cup of soil on the floor of the tent. No big deal! What's going to pop out of that 1/4 cup of soil that think will damage those plants? "Closed environment"....are they still growing in soil? The same soil that makes up that 1/4 cup?
I gotta say that the fan looked nasty but they're in veg and it's not like those fuzz balls are gonna get stuck to a sticky bud tonight. I clean fans at flip.
I used to be anal about sweeping around but I've started using pots that are so large that I can't get drip trays for them..at least not reasonably. So now I just lay heavy gauge plastic on the ground, set the pots on it and let the water run out on the floor. Makes a terrific mess with not being able to move the pots because of the scrog net. But the plants are fine...
Ah, we own; but we also have a well. No sulfur problem though. I do bypass our softening system and run out the pipes a bit and our PPM is 220-250 depending on the season. Not me... I can't stay away from that room!!! My situation is different in that my tap water is fucking my shit up,and I don't feel like adjusting my water everytime, so now I'll just buy 20-30 GALLONS of DRINKING water and go from there, because my landlord is such a cheap bitch!!! She's complaining because she has to fix this shit... We don't even have CITY water, this is WELL and it smells like hell and egg shells!!! Serious sulfur!!!
Letting the plants sit in runoff is a brilliant idea. Why didn't I think of doing that before!Everyone is freaking out because there's like a 1/4 cup of soil on the floor of the tent. No big deal! I grew for a long time with store bought water. 2 5 gallon jugs
I did the same until one day I realized the water at walmart from the Primo dispenser had a higher EC than my well. lol.Same
i built walls around my bathtub and grow in that now. does that count? drains fast as hell!Im still waiting for someone to show up who says fuck pots and just fills there 5x5 halfway with dirt and just waters that lol
It's 50ppm at my store. Or was. City water here is near 300ppmI did the same until one day I realized the water at walmart from the Primo dispenser had a higher EC than my well. lol.
i haven't bought in a while but when i was it took me a bit to figure out why my res EC was much higher than it used to be with the same amount of nutes. It's 50ppm at my store. Or was. City water here is near 300ppm
I didn't say that now did I..? My containers sit on blue foam board, keeps the roots away from the cold concrete and above the drain water.Letting the plants sit in runoff is a brilliant idea. Why didn't I think of doing that before!
Doesn't need to be 'toxic' just needs to grow the wrong kind of mold/mildew/fungus/algae/bacteria.I didn't say that now did I..? My containers sit on blue foam board, keeps the roots away from the cold concrete and above the drain water.
Now explain to me how the soil the plants are grown in becomes toxic once it hits the floor.
That's exactly what you said...I didn't say that now did I..? My containers sit on blue foam board, keeps the roots away from the cold concrete and above the drain water.

20% humidity lol.At 20%ish humidity and drip pans being used what's the realistic odds of that soil growing anything? Seriously?
