Yeah this old lady in Canberra Australia got 2 years and served 90 days until a judge thought it was harsh and reduced her sentence to time a good behaviour bond under appeal. You can legally have 3 dope plants next to your fence but omg no tobacco.

Tobacco is not only legal to grow, it's completely unregulated. The plant is perfectly legal, and no regulation has ever been passed to make it otherwise. It is illegal to sell your own tobacco. Anyone can grow whole fields of it for personal use.

God why would you even THINK tobacco would be illegal? Been snorting petrol again bro?

It's only illegal to sell your own proccesed tobacco , Whole leaf (raw or fermented) is legal to sell in a private transaction .

Yeah the point is it's not illegal to grow, and certqinly not MORE illegal than cannabis. I've grown my own and tried smoking it though, and nobody who's tasted plain, home-grown tobacco would have any desire at all to continue smoking the shit and pay for it? Pft :)

Nicotiana Tobaccum is so mild you cannot taste anything but air, when it's dried and rolled. I would expect that you would *have to* either compress it or made some kond of 10x extracted leave to have any chance of tasting anything at all.

Nicotiana Rustica is meant to be much stronger, but I couldn't get my hands on any seeda back when I grew mine out. Got loads of seeds at flowering though. They're about 10x smaller thwn poppy seeds, so you get an assload of em, but then I lost em somewhere along the way.

But whatever-his-name was up a few posts claiming it to be illegal. Pft. Unless you have some cuban tobacco wizard to cure it into so ething useful, all you're gunna end up with is mulch.

Like I said, it's got so little flavour, nobosy would ever want to buy it, so it's legal, since you'd never sell any anyhoo 8)

I'm in australia so I think the laws here are different man, probably legal in the states.
Far out you can have a baboon if you want to guard your weed there for gods sakes lol! And you also need the exise license to grow it here too!

Actually I know of 2 people that smoke home grown/cured tobacco , Yes most of it is in the cureing but the sub species can play a big part in it as well , the turkish varitys are said to be very smothe , but most growers I have met insist on growing the american 'virigina' types .

I dont smoke but when I grow I usually chew on a piece of the leaf , some taste very different than others , some are even border line sweet , Very ingestering plant

One year try some other varitys , If you dont like it you can always make a effective - insectiside out of it

What I used to do with mine, since it was just too tastless to bother smoking, was boil it down into a paste called Chimo, a South American tribal way of ingesting nicotine. Basically, you take some Tobacco and boil it in enough water to cover the leaves, then after half an hour or so toss the leaves and strain the remaining nicotine-rich liquid. next, you add some of the finest cocoa you can find, just a spoonful (depending how big thhe pan is), and an equal amount of honey.

Turn the heat down as low as it will go and simmer to reduce. You have to watch it pretty constantly from this point, as it will burn if it's just left there bubbling, and then once it's down to a syrup consistency, turn off the heat and scrape the sides so it's all on the bottom of the pot and leave it to finish evaporating into a paste.

What you end-up with is a lovely tasting chocolate fudge type substance. How strong the finished paste is will determine the dosage, but about half a pea was enough to make my throat get that numb/stabby feeling as thr nicotine absorbed into my mouth.

Tasted a buttload better than those boring mint nicorette things, yet all natural and did the same thing, essentially ;)
