I was dicking around and made this but I haven't tried it yet and I have no idea if it will work ...

the idea was to apply some force on the plunger and squeeze that shit out while pumping butane, but I'm reading now that butane and plastic don't go together so I'm having second thoughts on wasting my weed ...

Butane leaches the plasticizers out of PVC, which are carcinogens.

The syringe is most likely PP which is compatible with butane, but the design is a bad idea because you don't need the plunger action and you are getting very close and intimate with a highly flammable gas.

Keep it simple,
Put desired amount of weed in multiple mason jars with small hole in lid just big enough to fit butane nozzle and freeze overnight along with butane (separately).
The same jar can be used over for the blasts but 2 makes it a little faster allowing less butane to evaporate

Blast enough butane in 1st jar until butane is level with material (stop once or twice and take butane tip out of jar lid to avoid pressure build up inside jar) and soak in freezer for X amount of time, the longer the soak, the more butane will evaporate. (I like 1 hour soaks)
I like to open the freezer every 10-15 mins to let any butane vapors escape to avoid build up over the course of the soak.

After soak, pour out butane from jar 1 into jar 2 and repeat.......so on and so forth......
I like to do 2 soaks of the material, the 2nd soak is done with new butane and then combined with the first.
Then lid can be removed on mason jar and place unbleached coffee filter over mouth and screw on the ring to hold on the filter and filter into whatever you see fit.
I use a warm bath to reduce and then purge.
IF AT ALL POSSIBLE, THIS SHOULD BE DONE OUTSIDE.
The soak is fine in a freezer indoors as not too much butane is evaporated in the 1 hour but don't get complacent, it is still very volatile!!

Butane in the refrigerator? Do not do it this way or sooner or later you'll regret it.

What Jump said! Soaking a jar of butane in a freezer is a formula for disaster.

As opposed to what? Blasting, purging..........
Everything involved in BHO has the potential for disaster.
I guess I have just been lucky the past 25 years.

Ummmmm.....as opposed to a closed loop system that is certifiable to ASME, IBC, IEC, and NFPA-58 as required in legal applications for instance.

Without a closed loop, as opposed to using a thermos instead of a mason jar and not putting it in a freezer.

As opposed to keeping open extraction outside and adequately ventilated. https://skunkpharmresearch.com/butane-safety/

Have you seen the peeectures of the refrigerator explosion that circulated a few years back?

Alas, to show how far behind I must be, I don't remember the process being available 25 years ago.
