Exactly win win, I can't see how a few extra hours of dark could possibly hurt anything so no way you can go wrong.

Flower Day 5

Everything seems to be running smoothly... Knock on wood. My hands reek of pot after training the plants, and they are growing noticeably stronger by the day (the plants, not my hands). I believe tiny pistols are starting to form in the flowers, but that could be my imagination. Regarding timing, I will continue training the SCROG through the 2nd week of 12/12. Maybe 10-14 days?

Oh man she looks gorgeous. That is going to be one bad ass screen when you are done. You might end up having to cut the whole thing off to get it out, lol. Are you planning on trimming out the lower growth under the screen once you stop training it?

Happy dance, jumping jacks! I will definitely trim the suckers after stretch. My plan is to grow a healthy layer of fan leaves under a screen full of fat buds, and that's it. I hope this is the idea, but it's hard to say when you see so many different "SCROG" grows online. My friend just throws a net over some plants and declares it a SCROG, while I'm over here busting my ass every day. :)

Looking great :-) Id train as long as possible because it looks like your just bout out of scrog real estate ... Maybe even start training them past the screen if you can?

Also, not trying to thread jack at all, but would you consider doing something like this in the future? Its great for stretchy plants.

Edit: just remembered your room is 2x4... If you upgrade to a 4x4 you could do this, and use the LED for veg.

Good call, Who. This is actually my last grow with this strain, I believe two new prospective mothers are rooting on the farm as we speak. But all options are on the table for my next grow. :) I thought about curving the SCROG upward on both sides, so I can cover the entire closet with screen and still have reasonable access to the res. That should give me plenty of space and better yield.

Totally agree any amount of curve you give it increases your canopy size. Whodat do you know off hand how much extra surface area you got doing it like that? It also makes much more efficient use of the light.

I think that 360 screen was 43 square feet  really gives you allot more area. I was unable to complete the 360 before I moved... I tried twice.

Hey roomie you said the new moms were rooting, what strain are they?
This is currently the subject of heated debate. My stubborn but loveable grow buddy doesn't seem to care about strain and genetics. We received a care package from a professional grower, but genius over here failed to label the seedlings correctly (just let me do it! Grrr. Haha). It was all the usual suspects; Northern Lights, AK, OG Kush and Blueberry something. I need to count the leftover seeeds and then I'll know what we used. He's housing the mothers (or fathers) while I clone for sex.

Lol gotta love partners. I've never had to deal with that, but a friend of mine has and it always sounded like a mess. Atleast you know no matter what you grow out its gonna be killer. I am a strong believer that lesser genetics can be grown better, but that better genetics will grow out better and easier.

New trick I just learned...plastic spoons make fantastic plant markers!

Damn Whodat, thats crazy surface area. How big is the room 4x4, 4x5. I suppose its gotta be 2.5 to 3 times the surface, I wanna see that full this run!

Speaking of "partners" never again haha.

I like the spoon idea. I dont put labels in the soil any longer, I would always be missing some by the end of the grow. I use tape on the side of the containers labeled with a sharpie... never fails me.

Aww, you guys care. :)

Flower - Day 9

The stems are stiff, the smell is potent, and the plants are growing consistently by the day. I immediately noticed the canopy growing more evenly under HPS compared to the DS300. I no longer have lone rangers nor am I witnessing an obscene amount of stretching. This pleases me. Still, I have no idea how long to train the branches.

Fun with HPS

The Roots

I'm feeding 8, 12, 15 ml/gal of Micro, Grow and Bloom respectively, with 5 ml/gal of Liquid Blue and 6 ml/gal of Early Bloomer. That's a grand total of 1400 ppm.

I am having issues with low temps during lights-off. It's been in the 50's for the last two weeks. I'm going to wire a thermostat and small space heater, stat. The plants seem perfectly healthy, but that doesn't mean growth isn't effected. Speaking of climate, I'm also having problems keeping the RH above 30%. It sits at 25% during lights-on, and 40% during lights-off. I added a new warm mist humidifier and it has had absolutely no effect. I'm assuming my exhaust fan is the culprit.
