Super tight node spacing... problems later?

Greetings all,
New to posting to this site, have seen plenty of helpful forums here so I finally signed up.

I have a Green crack plant that's doing surprisingly well and has super tight node spacing. I planted it a bit too deep after running out of soil on my last potting. I said "eff it" since I had already potted a few others and they were looking better than this one anyway.

My main question is: Will this cause problems later? To the point where I need to transplant to a pot with higher soil level? or should I choose this one for main-lining or something? Thanks in advance to any and all helpers. Happy growing everyone!

Maybe I misunderstand, but what does the soil level have to do with the node spacing? Couldn't you pull the rootball as if you would transplant, and add 2" soil to the bottom, replace the rootball?

I didn't realize GC was that indica-looking. I'm growing what I believe is Sensi Kush, it sprouted around 11-26 and looks a lot like yours, similar spacing.

What kind of light do you use? I usually raise my lights to encourage more height, but some strains are short and bushy by nature.

In regards to the spacing, it wont be like that after the flip/stretch. When you flower a ganja plant, it will double, triple, and can even quadruple in size. The veg growth pattern is different from a flower growth pattern. Veg is usually symmetrical and flower is asymmetrical.
 
it definitely Does look indica, I agree. but it came straight from a labeled batch of discount hermie pile at the local disp.

I have my dual compartment tent 48-48-80, vegging this and a few others under 2 King LED 800w units, they pull about 170 actual wattage each. top comp has a few 48" fluorescents for my clones.

I'm sure that moving these from fluorescent to the LED made them node the way they did. I dont mind it being that way, but I do like the idea of topping and cloning the cutting. this is my strongest of all the seedlings I planted.

the lights hang 16" from the top of this plant. I do realize now that is particularly short for LED.

yeah i have only done veg so far. I do like the idea of topping, promoting side branch growth. those fan leaves are so huge theyll just continue blocking the light.

flowering being asymmetric, does that mean the side growth will be unpredictable?

Topping will give you more than one cola, that is the main idea. More colas = more ganja.

Not unpredictable, different than it is now. Like in your pic, the nodes on each side of the branch are side by side. When it flowers, they will be staggered. It will stretch for the first three weeks and then the plant itself will stop growing and only grow buds. After you complete a grow, you will understand.

okay great. that's understandable enough. thanks for the insight. cant wait to top her also.

I'll be building my grow journal over the next few days. I have a great looking Jack Frost that sprouted Nov 1, cant wait to clone once she gets her side branches out to a good 4" or more.

Three of the GC plants were a bit shocked after being potted. Roots may have been drowned for a bit too, but they look better after recovery time. I was trying to start my grow journal, but I'm stopped by what I can only guess is a time-based minimal requirement of being a member.
 
Worry about the plants and fill your head with knowledge for the time being. Worry about the journal when you are good at it. ;)

Thanks. I've been reading / saving every guide I can. I'm learning that one person's guide may say ABC and another may say XYZ, but I'm paying attention to detail and really "listening" to the plants. Been reading and re-reading the methods that I believe in for now, and finding that like anything, practice makes perfect. I've got some Fire OG clones that were my practice round, doing well and have given a few away to friends. Will switch those to 12/12 once I am ready for my first harvest round. See how those do while vegging and training my sativas to be donors/mothers.

I didn't realize Grow Room->Journals (forum) was limited like that. I thought you were talking about your "Journals" (blog) area (the big "Grow Journals" link at the top).

Few more days, few more likes and posts should do it.
 
ok I had read about main-lining before, but this was my first top ever, so I was weary of taking off too much (besides the two new main ofc)... so i think I will go ahead and main-line the GC since its got a fat stem. what if I left the JF like it is? I really want to be tender with that one and am hoping her top cuttings will root soon.
