Well, the wife didn't get laid off, just asked to make more sacrifices zzzz.
Anyway, we are deciding what we want to do, go up a floor or stay. I like the idea of 2 a/c units which would mean "my area" is completely sealed off and climate controlled....almost couldn't ask for a better situation. The downside is I hate moving, physically I am not up to it so I would be forced to hire. Obviously there are things that the movers cannot move/see so it just makes things more difficult. We are going to weigh everything over the coming days and make a decision by the end of the week.
The plants had a rough patch the last two days, temps here were in the 90's and I was not prepared with the a/c set up. They are fine now and temps are back in the 70's during lights on. They have eased up on the stretching and are now popping bud sites up everywhere. I did my second and final trim on them as well. For those that were interested in pot comparison.....this will not be a good comparison. With the delay on my bulb replacement and other gear they vegged for too long. They are getting watered everyday as a result. In the picture you can see the one in the 3 gal container is 6 inches taller and the stem diameter is quadruple....the difference wouldn't have been so noticeable if the others would have went straight to flower from rooting. Next batch I will run two tables with 32 oz or 2 quart squares and two tables with 3 gal containers.

Everything in the veg room could have clones taken at this point but I am holding off for two reasons.....1 less thing to worry about if we have to relocate upstairs and I like taking bigger clones when going straight to flower. All photos below are 28 days from seed and 28 days from rooting on the tomahawk...I believe
ANYONE THAT HAS GROWN ALASKAN ICE PLEASE TAKE A LOOK:
I have some leaf cupping going on....normally a sign of heat stress but it is 78 in the veg area and none of the other strains are showing any cupping. Is this normal?
As you can see there are 3 distinct pheno's on the AI.....should be fun to see them till the end. If I had to choose on the others right now it would be cheese 1 and trainwreck 2. Both have sick node spacing and stink if brushed against....again we will see what happens in flower. Everything in the veg room is now up to full strength nutes and drinking up tons.
I have decided on my hydro system and have started acquiring the parts. I decided on ebb/flow due to the flexibility it will offer. I am going to run (4) 36" x 24" x 8" tubs under (3) 600w adding an additional 600w if needed but I think the light spread will be perfect. I am going to run 2 separate reservoirs for the system, 3 table s on the large res and the 4th as flush. I am going with the K.I.S.S. rule.....lucas formula for first three tubs and flush for 4th....nothing fancy.....less to F up. If I relocate up a floor res temps wont be an issue as I can keep the room and the room within the room as cool as needed. If we stay put I am going to turn a chest freezer I have in to a DIY chiller of sorts
I spoke with a lawyer today that specializes in cannabis cases, he is now on retainer. Nothing has happened I just figured I had the opportunity to meet this guy and its better to be prepared before shit hits the fan, not that I expect it to. After understanding how my local officials deal with personal grows I have changed my grow strategy a bit.
Since they go by weight and not plant count I have decided to do SOG (obviously) little to no veg time and perlite as my substrate with a coco mat under the pots. Reason is if they just pull my plants and not remove the medium (which they don't do in most cases) I don't want big blocks of rockwool or anything else being in the mix. With little to no veg time they will be smaller obviously with less stem and foliage. I will experiment with veg times and yield to try and dial it in over time.
Hope this finds everyone well and sorry for the long post...had a bit too much cannabutter on my french bread this evening ....
