Subaru Impreza WRX........ anyone drive one of these?

I'm looking at getting one of these. Seems like it would be a good investment. I'm thinking of selling my current ride and re investing other funds... So I don't need to worry looking for another car for a good 8+ years *knocks on wood*

From what I've heard they are great off road/on road cars.. I do a lot of driving on snow and dirt (when the vehicle is appropriate of course)... in addition to the ride, and exterior - It seems like a really nice interior... and I'm a fan of a manual transmission :blsmoke:

Any thoughts from previous/current owners? Thoughts on Subaru's in general? I'm interested in it all, I actually don't know anyone with a Subaru. That or any other suggestions will be much appreciated

ps:
It's this or going to really CHEAP route to save money!

I've heard good things about them. They're also pretty fast and performance mods are plentiful. I'd think about buying one but there are no used ones, at least on the major canadian auto trading website

Yeah they are fantastic, fun cars. Plenty of parts to modify it too, if you're into that. Although, gas mileage is pretty crappy for a four cylinder, and you have to put premium gas in it... kinda sucks.

Head to head the Evo is a better car. In 2003 I had friends that owned one of each and they both loved their cars. I would lean more towards the STI for longevity. Boxter engines seem to last forever.

Subaru's are the #1 selling car in Alaska by a long shot; nothing else even comes close. Many reasons why. ...Just don't think of a car as "an investment". :) Not many things depreciate faster than a car.

I'll check out the evo too... Thanks :)

& Yeah I actually am looking at an STi.... for a couple reasons.... 1) Comes with HID lights stock...& you cant legally install HIDs unless your car comes with them STOCK.... 2) Brembo brakes.... I know GOOD brakes, and love having responsive, good brakes even when I'm not 'racing' (on a motorcycle). For a few thousand, the brakes lights and tiny extras you get is worth a couple extra grand..

notttt a fan of the useless spoiler though...

I mean it's not bad but I feel like it would be a cop-magnet.... I'm used to getting harassed, and followed for like 15 mins at a time by asshole cops though. Just play it coooool... ;)

That's saying something! Yeah I hear they are GREAT in the snow...

and I think of it as an investment because it's not a lease :) Obviously it wont increase in value... but I see 2008's with 50,000 miles selling for 28,000.... and there's 3 in 300 miles o_O.... pretty nuts.

Hell yeah man. I'm not looking for crazy crazy fast, so I wont be tuning it or dropping thousands on the engine in any way... I figure the stock WRX or WRX STi should be more than enough, and sound good enough...i'm used to doing like 0-120 in like 12 seconds just getting on the freeway ... i'm used to riding bikes, and I know nothing ill ever drive on 4 wheels will be that fast... so I'm just not going to try .... if I want to drop another 5,000 on performance parts ill just get a liter bike 8)

the 07 have a secret hiding spot lol were the stick shift is the leather going down you could pull it up and its like a hiding spot. The leather dont go up its the plastic square it connects to and it looks bolted on.i was rolling blunts and got rolled and stashed everything in there and the cop instantly said wheres the weed at lol.So after putting 3 of us on the curve and searching us and the car they could find shit lol.The two cops kept asking us where the weed was i was like idk then he was like so its coming from this store behind me lol. They searched good to.Then they popped the hood and were compaining about how these spark plug wires dont look legal or stock lol wtf huh? They were just trying to pin anything they could on since they didnt find shit and we looked sober so they gave him a fix it ticket for the tinted windows.

Verde. If there ever was a time to listen to me...its now. Buy this car. Don't think. Buy. If you can afford it it will last you 200,000+ miles with routine maintenance and care...EASY. INCREDIBLE in the snow. Subarus AWD is a technological star. And safe as fuck. Plus the STi is one of the fastest stock cars made today. It drives sooo smooth and handles like a dream. Just pull the trigger. You will not regret it...ever.

The interior pic is of a Mitsubishi. Check the steering wheel..

My boy has an Sti and damn they are sexy and fast as fuck too right outta the box. A few mods and your burning 90% of the crap on the street. All wheel drive is dope as well, if you feel you ass sliding out just gas her and she's sure to to go straight :). My boy tears up the snow as well as the dirt. Soild investment in my opinion. My dude hits round off ramps at like 85 with ease, I love when he drives, a nice change up from my truck. Ide go sti over evo

I have one. ;)

Best car I have ever own, friends can't believe its abilities on gravel... I often hear things like "yes we're taking the rocket car", "this thing fucking crawls around the turns like it aint shit", "I need to get me a subaru", "holy shit dude its like we're playing rallycross in real life"(as I am blasting nothing but you by paul van dyk, flying at 100mph on gravel back roads). In the rain, you can step on it at a light and not slip one bit, soooooo many people try to fuck with me in adverse weather conditions, I fly passed them like its just another beautiful day in the soob.....at least twice the speed limit everywhere I go. I get lots of waves, lots of "FUCK YEAHS" screamed at me downtown, bunch "RIP ITS!" and "SPIN EM UP!" Hard to rip on a dry day with the best AWD system on the market ;)

You can put up a nasioc or craigslist ad to swap someone without a spoiler...

Me and my boy were cruising in the snow laughing at people stuck, then my dude hit a turn too tight by accident and drove up a 3foof snow bank from a plow. The only thing I've seen stop his subi, but any car wouldn't work when all the wheels werent touching. A little mule work from the passenger (me) And we got outta that mess
