yes you have to remember with a subaru. Just because you have AWD doesnt mean you have ground clearance. :(

got wasted a few months back and was blocked in my buddies driveway by ten or so cars... decided to take the "scenic route"..... bad idea. You can mow over the bent mangled pieces of metal from tent stakes or whatever the fuck, but I drove away with a flat tire at three AM, had to change my tired in the street while drunk, never a good thing.

When you are rough on your tires, they can be rough on you. I abuse the shit out of mine all day long... bought the car with 000009 miles on the odometer, I'm at 009900 right now, no issues, only compliments...

The interior pic is of a Mitsubishi. Check the steering wheel..
Both of those pictures are of an evo lancer... I said that's the car and I still like the sti better.. I didn't say "the sti is better look at these pics" :]

My boy has an Sti and damn they are sexy and fast as fuck too right outta the box. A few mods and your burning 90% of the crap on the street. All wheel drive is dope as well, if you feel you ass sliding out just gas her and she's sure to to go straight :). My boy tears up the snow as well as the dirt. Soild investment in my opinion. My dude hits round off ramps at like 85 with ease, I love when he drives, a nice change up from my truck. Ide go sti over evo
I have one. ;)

Best car I have ever own, friends can't believe its abilities on gravel... I often hear things like "yes we're taking the rocket car", "this thing fucking crawls around the turns like it aint shit", "I need to get me a subaru", "holy shit dude its like we're playing rallycross in real life"(as I am blasting nothing but you by paul van dyk, flying at 100mph on gravel back roads). In the rain, you can step on it at a light and not slip one bit, soooooo many people try to fuck with me in adverse weather conditions, I fly passed them like its just another beautiful day in the soob.....at least twice the speed limit everywhere I go. I get lots of waves, lots of "FUCK YEAHS" screamed at me downtown, bunch "RIP ITS!" and "SPIN EM UP!" Hard to rip on a dry day with the best AWD system on the market ;)

You can put up a nasioc or craigslist ad to swap someone without a spoiler...
Lmao yeah sounds like a fun car when you put it that way.. I might have to go easy on the offroading until I put some big numbers on the mileage

Me and my boy were cruising in the snow laughing at people stuck, then my dude hit a turn too tight by accident and drove up a 3foof snow bank from a plow. The only thing I've seen stop his subi, but any car wouldn't work when all the wheels werent touching. A little mule work from the passenger (me) And we got outta that mess
I don't think I've ever driven a car good in the snow  I'm always the dude your laughing at on the side with 2wd and no snow chains

Yeah I feel you on the ground clearance... which is why id be worried about finding a rock about a foot taller than my clearance on the road... I mean my tire could hit it but it'd probably fuck up the body and underside pretty good.

But how much are you paying for a set of decent tired on one of these? I know in some cars, and bikes especially, a bad tire can just bottleneck good/smooth performance.

& what kind of gas are you guys seeing on the road, and on the highway? Is it really bad?

I don't know the gas mileage on em but I heard Ford is making a performance Focus this year, 210 HP and the regular focuses get 40 MPG city so you can assume it'll be about there too.

The more boost you have the more gas you consume.

I think its more the AWD that kills the gas..

I'm coming of a bike that got 50 mpg.. so I'm not expecting 30 or 40..

I'm just hoping its not SUV status on the gas mileage

its is not the best, but i think it gets better as the car is broken in. i know my boy has a comp that he pluggs in to flash the car so he can vary from fuel eco mode and performance mode. the new ones might have it right on the dash like S or I mode something like that

by the way verde, I am seeing anywhere from 17 mpg to 28 on the highway.... but usually I'm doing 110+ on the highway so I'm getting shit milage ~18

had an explorer with four wheel drive, nothing but issues. Yes all wheel drive is heavier but add some gas and get out of any squirelly situation..

Exits that I used to take around 25mph in my ram1500/explorer/stratus/tc/camry/civic/prelude/etc... I can keep my foot on the gas and easily triple most of the recommended speeds around sharp turns.

I am just waiting for a cop to pull some shit up in the mountains. I'd like to see a crown vic doing 100+ in gravel and 50+ mph around turns..

I had sub for a while than my young lad brought home an evo 8, that did it for me I bought the 09 RallyiArt new for 34,000 cdn and it is a scream, I don't know the milage because when I get in that car I turn into a 18 year old. We are weekend warriors and race the car so it takes a pounding, the paddles work excellent. The only thing is turbo lag of the line, if only it was not so bad. Crazy thing is we have a few sets of wheels but my wife takes the Mitsu every time. Awesome car for the money and no issues other than the service. $$$ That's what I would check on the Sub.

for some reason, I know the new EVO's are ridiculous(hell, all evo's are ridiculous) but the new lancer's that are 15k and every punk has one in town, thats all I see when I see a new evo... looks childish and plasticy, less mature than the subaru. But don't get me wrong, I'd take one in a heartbeat.

and I know the evo is a long ways away from the pos base model lancer..

The best part about the subaru is LCG, from the boxer engine to the designed of the subframe, these cars are built to take corners fast! something you can't really do comfortably in a SUV

Good info to know! 18-28 isn't crazy bad. But it definitely doesn't seem like it'll be a road trip car!

turbos help gas, dud.

Thanks man! I really thought it was the worst subaru video ever after I posted it, considering how baked I was during recording/uploading/commenting with the link. It's a totally different driving experience than what you're used to, guaranteed.
