Strawberry Cough from seed, 250W, 1st grow

54 Days Old (Day 2 of flowering 12/12)

Some new pics today. They both looking real good. I had another look at the preflowers (and took some pics). I was able to take pictures through my 30x magnifier, which has an LED light (pretty nice for ~$7 or so from ebay). I think i found a hair! What do you guys think? I may have 2 females, since all these preflowers look the same...just 1 potential hair so far. I need to make sure there's no light leaks through cracks. I watered this week on Monday and by thurs the moisture was down to a reading of 1. It looks like I need to water about every 3 days (maybe i should have used less than 40% perlite).

In the third pic (624), there 2 small green "leaves" cupping a white ball. In the picture it looks like the green leaf could be a stem for the ball, but i don't think it is. You can see the top part of the other leaf on the other side of the white ball.

Both preflower pics are from the plant on the left (in pic 610), but the preflowers on the right plant have the same 2 small leaves cupping a little white ball.

I still haven't really added any nutrients....just big bloom (2tbs per gallon) twice to replenish the good "bugs" that I may have killed off when using H2O2. I may add some 25% strength grow big in the next week.

Thanks. I just got back after a few days break over memorial day just in time to have a look before my plants went to sleep. The one plant was very thirsty (some of the fan leaves were droopy...a few were even shriveled)...so i gave it a 1/2 gal. of water (it was last watered on thurs.......4 days ago). I should have watered it before i left, but moisture reading was ok...oh well. It should be fine. No worries about over-watering now...ha. The other plant was fine...moisture reading of 3-4 or so.

Looks like the one plant needs watered at least every 3 days....i'm going to add some more soil...whatever will fit in the pot to help water retention. That'll have to wait til tomorrow since they're sleeping now. They sure are growing/stretching fast though. That reminds me i should get some kind of ties to hold it to the screen to keep these girls (hopefully) under control. Edit: Didn't see anything at walmart so i'll use some plastic coated single strand wire.

I'm currently using a diy carbon filter...i'm getting a bit concerned about whether it's going to hold up. I'm going to get a spare carbon prefilter and some carbon pellets. Anyone know off hand where to get the carbon pellets (walmart or home depot?)?

Although both plants look good (day 5 of flowering), the verdict is in. They're both males .............soooo i tossed them and started germinating more seeds today.

I germinated 2 more seeds, just one germinated, so I germinated a 3rd seed (this one is ~4 days younger, so 19 days old). Here's some pics of them. Same setup, same seeds.

I decided on a 33% perlite in FFOF. No nutes yet. It seems they don't need many. The first ones were growing good with almost no nutes (just a little big bloom).

The second plant is a bit slow. It was slow to germinate (a good 3 days, i planted it b/c i didn't want it to get moldy). It's vertical growth is almost non-existent so far, and one of the leaves is a little mutated. I think it'll catch on...we'll see.

I'll have to say, the moisture meter is really nice to have. A necessity for me. I haven't over or under watered them yet, and I think the plants are working hard on their root system searching for water in these pots.

After i threw my first set of male plants out, i did some searching on whether i could salvage anything from them. I found that i might have been able to make some iso hash. If I get any males this time, i'm going to try it.

This grow may have a time limit. I may be going on a trip in September (to France for about a month, sounds cool but i'll have to work for a slave-driver...i guess i won't give anymore details so i can stay anonymous). The grow will have to be completely finished before i leave--curing and everything so nothing gets moldy when i'm gone.

According to the seed bank where the seeds came from, it takes 9 weeks for flowering. To be safe i'll guess 10 weeks and a 1.5wks for drying/curing. A conservative guess for when i'll have to leave is 11.5weeks. So, i'll be going 12/12 very soon. Not much scrog this way, but hopefully i'll get some good weed a lot sooner.

Both of these plants turned out to be males too. I made iso-hash out of the one, going to do the other one soon. It works but doesn't make much. Very nice high.

I'm not going to buy regular seeds anymore. Feminized all the way for small scale.

Hmmm....I think i'll germinate 2 more....and do 12/12 after a week or so. Males will be turned to iso hash...ha

I got paranoid a week or so ago, and threw out my two seedlings. I had gotten back to my apartment on a Sunday evening, dropped off some stuff at my apartment, drove to where i park (~0.3mi), rode my bike from my car to my apartment and in front of my apartment were 3 cop cars. So I rode past my apartment and around till they were gone (~10min).

I'll be starting back up sometime, and going to make some sort of a stealth box.
