The overwatered one is looking better today. Brown spots on leaves aren't any worse. The plant overall looks better. I don't plan on watering again until 5/9 or 5/10 (7-8 days after watering). Hopefully this plant will have a good recovery. Depending on how it looks in a week then I may or may not add H2O2 (1-2 tsps 500ml). Maybe the roots are fine...and it is only recovering from the overwatering, which has deprived some nutrients from the plant. These plants really don't like to be overwatered (not that i've grown any other plant to compare to). I thought about getting a moisture meter (http://www.cleanairgardening.com/plant-moisture-meter.html).....but i don't want to spend the money on yet another non-essential item. I'm going to get a Ph meter though...the one i have is crap. Something like the Hanna HI98103 looks good. I'm thinking that if you measure the ph of all solutions you give your plant (and they are in the right) the soil doesn't need to be tested?

I made a DIY carbon filter the other day. It's made from 6" ducting, a universal replacement carbon filter, 1" hex wire, and a cheapo 6" inline fan from homedepot retrofitted to the fan port on my light. I found that with the glass shield removed from the light and the fan ON, the temps were higher than with no fan and the glass on. Sooo what seems to work best is to pull the glass out only enough to not slow the inline fan down much and allow good air flow. Temps are about the same as with the glass fully in place and any odors can be contained.

I gave the overwatered one a good dose of H2O2 (which I should have done earlier...as soon as I noticed overwatering symptoms) yesterday to help it out (4tsp of 3%h2o2 in 800ml of distilled water). It seems to be doing fine. It's getting bigger. PICT0615.jpgPICT0614.jpg

I've since had some overwatering on the other one now (which was looking very good). All was good until ~4 days after a watering (5/1/10)...it was just a little droopy....and I thought it needed water (the first ~2" of soil was also quite dry). Shortly after i watered it, it went much more droopy....by the next day it, however, look pretty good again (Pic1: 5/1/10, looks good b/c it used/using the O2 in the water)Pic1.jpg. As the O2 was used up, I noticed that every day after this, it kept looking a little more and more droopy until it looked quite bad(Pic2.jpg: 5/3/10, Pic3.jpg: 5/5/10, Pic4.jpg: 5/6/10)View attachment 924656 . To prevent a loooong recovery time, etc.....I added 4tps of 3%h2o2 in 800ml of distilled water. It looked a lot better after just 20min. Two days later, it is looking healthy again (for the most part) (Pic5.jpg: 5/8/10). I learned a lot from this one, and will hopefully not have these problems anymore. Pic2.jpg

Thanks dasa. I got the digital readout one from walmart (~$8 or so). That silver rod (thermal couple) in the back is attached to a temp. controller (got both of these from ebay)....just using it as a second temp. readout though (i don't have any air-conditioner or heating).

I got my screen in (made from 2" chicken wire). The distance from the soil to screen is ~10". They were without light for ~1.5hrs....hopefully they didn't mind. I bought 3 gallon pots as their final home....I think 3 gal is a bit big for this setup/grow. Unless anyone thinks i shouldn't transplant, i'll do this in the next day or two (even though i don't see any roots coming out the bottom of the pot)....since i can't transplant after they start filling the screen. The one plant is 11" tall and the other 9.5" (currently in 3 quart pots).

I know this isn't the most convenient setup b/c i only have access from one side and it's not mobile...but it should still work. I'm going to raise the pots a little (after transplanting) so when i water i can see water drip out of the bottom and empty the drip pans if needed.

Day 37

I did a bit of LST'ing today. I noticed at least one alternating node. I plan on transplanting and watering in 3 days. And go to flowering in ~10 days. I still haven't added any nutrients....i'm assuming they won't need any for 2-3 weeks after the upcoming transplant.

I found some good scrog info here.

what size pots now? I do 3 and 4 foot plants in 2 gal. Has been a pain to keep watered in late flower.
