Strain Names

In case anyone is unaware, but interested ... though with anything with such a 'rich genetic mix' you find the inevitable words, such as, "unknown" and "probably" amongst it's lineage. I don't mean that as a knock or anything. But it's becoming more and more common as more strains are released that are at least in part made up of certain somewhat older strains. There are a few assumptions taken in some cases, based on likelihood of probability, and other cases it's a simple, beats the heck out of me, it's just unknown. As long as it's good, those things are meaningless, but it is occurring more often.

I suppose it could also just be coincidence ..... but then again, it could be tied up with where that darn sock always goes when it vanishes from the dryer, never to be seen again.

Right ... go on, go ahead and laugh about the sock thing ... if you need to ...... but I think I might have found a connection and I'm going to Sherlock Holmes the Hell out of this thing until I figure it all out.

Death-Star (Clone Only Strain)

Strain: Death-Star
Breeder: Clone Only
Location: indoor, outdoor
Type: indica/sativa
Flowering: ~65 days
Available as clone only.

'Death-Star' was originally bred around 2001-2002, by 'Team Death Star' who started revealing it to more elite growers in 2004 and enjoyed much attention from smokers throughout the American-Midwest and along the East Coast. It gained and attracted a lot of attention in 2010 when High Times wrote an article about the tightly-held strain.

It is trademarked for it's 'hashy' Sour Diesel taste and it's compact growth structure influenced by the Sensi Star father, that made it very popular for Midwest growers.

It produces rock-hard buds that are covered in trichromes to the point that the final cured buds appear to be an almost gray color, often times with light purple streaks when temps are dropped.

It's high is both mind-numbing Sour Diesel twist and narcotic body effects from the Sensi Star. It has the ability to still be an all-day smoke for high tolerance smokers and a knockout for those with lower tolerance.

20.23% THC
0.43% CBD
0.63% CBN

That's supposed to be it, so it's claimed to be ... take it with a grain of salt if you need to ... it's what people want to agree on it being anyway so I guess we might as well just say, OK.
Per usual, great info Brick!

I'm asking because I want to try growing something unique, with a distinct taste to it.

Fire away!
Actually I have Dutch Passion "Orange Bud" plants. One of my plants hermied a while back and I saved all of the produced seeds, they should be all female. Not sure of legal issues with seed exchanges. But I am here in the yoop. Orange bud has a light fragrant orange smell and the smoke is smooth. Great daytime weed. Seems to give me ambition. Like a speedy high. Rated at 16.5% THC. Works great for anxiety and pain.

tga seems to have many different phenos for each strain. I know agent orange is real stable and apollo 13 sounds like it would be also because its back crossed.
Subcool covers this pretty good in The Weed Nerd Episode #27 on You Tube. I'm pretty sure that it is about 35 minutes long and I would guess the middle 15 minutes is about this and the way he breeds. It was just posted this morning so it made me remember this post and I tracked it down. Very interesting. It is worth rolling one up or packing a bowl and checking it out.bongsmilie

LOL!! I saw you mention the Weed Nerd on here, so I decided to check it out. I got about 3 episodes deep, and decided that I wasn't going to watch any more because it was just basically subcool spinning tunes and packing bowls. Then my old lady went out the other night, and I was sitting there with nobody to smoke with ..... so I dialed up episode 4, and shared a bowl or two with sub!! Good times! :-)

Looking at it as a chance to sit down and burn a couple with a great breeder/grower is pretty cool. It is different. I think it is pretty cool to hear his views and thoughts on quite a bit of things because I agree with most of it. Episode 27 is a perfect example. Worth the 35 minutes for sure. lol
