Ah cool cool. Im working with minimal budget at this point. So its a pretty simple grow/build this round.

Shootin to get 8 lights hanging and 2-4 bare 600's. We'll see.

Damnit! Alright.
Ya, a 40ft'er would be ideal. Mine is a 28ft reefer, so the insulation is excellent. Other than having to put up your own insulation. I think they'll work pretty good. Best of all is they are hella secure. For the most part.

With that being said, i want to upgrade to a shop/warehouse if im lucky and successfull. Like 400a coming in.

Hey man I'm in the process of doing the exact same thing, haha great thread! I was looking at a 40ft dry semi trailer or 40ft refrigerated one. I figure semi trailers dont cost the 3k to move as would a shipping container thats cheaper but has no trailer. Anyway I was curious about the AC on the refrigerated units... are they just as good or better than a mini-split? Would it be more cost effective to go with a 1k - 2k dry trailer and install a minisplit AC or get a 3k - 5k refrigerated trailer which already has a AC and is insulated...?

I was actually considering living in mine too but wasn't sure how legit that would be... I could easily build a room and living area but can you someone run waterline for a shower/shitter and cable / internet to the thing?

Thanks!

This is wicked cool! I've seen people build their homes out of shipping containers- architects, not amateurs.

I could see having two of them; one has living space and veg area- heat from veg would keep living space warm. The other would be set up next to the first and have bloom space. To scale, add more shipping containers for additional bloom rooms.

Solar panels on top and along south side would cut heat gain from the sun in summer, and would provide some power.

You still working on this?

Im a trucker so let me offer you advice, old reefer trailers leak and youll get water in the insulation breeding ground for bacteria as well as mold, secondly the landing gear on old trailers has been known to crumple up even empty, Its normally 6 bolts holding your sub frame and axles on I wouls suggest sitting the box on the ground if your not going to have to move i the near future.

also the roll up doors leak like a bastard , i would seal that off and put a man door in somewhere if there isnt a CURBSIDE door already

Any truck and trailer dealer will sell a caulking type sealer made specifically for sealing leaks in trailers. As well as kemlite to patch any places inside which have been broken over time. Does the unit run? Could be good for temp control
