the bubbler cloner is an alternative to rapid rooter plugs. found the 2900ppm thing on another thread:

I run EZ-Clone sprayers on a cycle timer. 1 minute on, 5 minutes off.

It's all about Oxygen to the roots!!!! Everyone gets hung up on nutrients and PH and all this other shit when what really matters is O2. If you run sprayers on a timer you can bump your PPM to insane levels with no burn what so ever. Your growth rates will be beyond anything you could ever imagine.

Plant growth is powered by the sugars the plant creates. It needs C6 H12 and O6 as the main elements. Everything else (nutrients) are used in very small amounts. The plant gets it's C (carbon) from the air through the leaves, H (hydrogen) from water through the roots and O (Oxygen) from the air through the roots. Water is easy to give. To boost carbon you would need a CO2 emitter. The only way to increase oxygen is to allow the roots max dry time. It's a fine line between having the roots dry out and giving max O2. That's why a cycle timer is needed. Try it and you will see it works unreal!

I run 2900 PPM all the way through week 6 and then 2400 PPM for week 7. Clearex for 24 hours and then I flush with straight water for week 8/9.

Botanicare Nutrients:
126ML Cal-Mag Plus
180ML Liquid Karma
540ML Pure Bend Pro Bloom

I'm interested in that cloning machine that you've built out of a rubbermaid container. What kind of pump does it use, and what kind of little nozzles are those in there doing the misting? I'm thinking about building one of those.
396 GPH pump and EZ-Clone sprayers.

What week in the grow do you take the cuttings? Thanks. :peace:
Cuttings spend three weeks in the cloner and another 3 weeks in the veg system. That would make them a total of 6 weeks old. At that point the plants are 12"-18" tall with lots of side shoots to pick my clones from.

I take my cuttings from the veg system right before they go into the flower room. This is a great system because I don't have to run any mother plants.

+rep, great journal. is their some secret as to why you can run 2900ppm? have you ever tried doing that much with another brand of nutes?
My mentor has tried everything. He has 35 years of growing experience. I owe everything to him. I grew soil for 14 years before going hydro. He showed me the light!

I really have no need to try other brand of nutrients at this point. The formula I'm using is 100% organic and works better than you could ever dream.

Using the cycle timer allows me to run 2900 PPM. The roots are only exposed to the nutrient solution for 1 minute out of every 5. The rest of the time they are just hanging out sucking up O2.

Well.. I just read the whole journal and I am officially going to modify my system for aero!!

You have a fantastic operation. What size are the pumps in each of the 3 part cycle? What size pvc for the feed lines? ..For the grow tubes? And how many plant sites per tube?
I think you told me the sprayers in between each plant site are the same used for the ez cloner right?

Sorry for the 21 q's :blsmoke: really like your setup
Pumps are 396 GPH for everything.
1/2" PVC pipe for the internal feed on my PVC fence posts and cloner/veg.
14 plants per flower system, 18 holes on my veg and 23 on my cloner.
EZ-Clone sprayers for everything.

Hey My Brother, Great Set-Up!!!!..............& You Are Getting Great Result's!!!!!...........I Have Two Question's, 1) How The Fuck Are You Getting Away With Running 2900ppm????.............I Can't Get Over 1000ppm Or So, With Out Burning Them Up!!!!!........2) In Your Bubbler Cloner, Why Do You Not Use Rapid Starter Plug's In The 2" Basket's????.........Man I Use Them, & On A Regular Basic Get Root's In 3 To 5 Day's!!!!

But Any Way, Great Thread, I'll Be Back!!!!:joint::hump::blsmoke::roll::peace:
*-

At one time I used Rapid Rooter plugs for all my cuttings. I still use them for seeds now.

Using my cloner I found no difference in rooting time using the plugs. Also the Rapid Rooters break down over time and you end up with small pieces of it floating around in you system.

The biggest difference I found when taking clones is where you take the cuttings. The closer you take the cuttings to the base the faster they root. The very top of the plants take the longest to set roots.

Thanks sbud. I have to admit i have been researching for some time and seen a lot! of setups, but none as brilliant and functional as yours. Thats pretty sweet that you use the 396 pumps b/c they are fairly inexpensive. How many plant sites do you think an eco 396 can support max?

Hey how far apart are your plants in the pvc rows?

You have a sprayer inbetween each site right in the middle?
Do you just use tap water through the whole grow or do you filter it RO?

Plants are 7" apart. 7 plants per tube, 14 for each system. They are packed pretty tight at that spacing. 12 plants would have better spacing.

I don't put any sprayers on the very ends.

I use plain tap water @ 200 PPM I'm going to buy an RO unit soon though and see if it makes any difference. Tap water works great right now.

On the other hand its seems like a waste to remove all the calcium, iron and magnesium and then just add it back with Cal-Mag Plus...

I'm harvesting the biggest buds I have ever seen in my life Sunday. I've seen bigger plants but never anything like this. They are so covered in trichromes it's crazy!

I'm going on vacation soon so I needed to harvest two days early. It's not a big deal as most of the plants where actually done a few days ago. The Blueberry finishes in just 7 1/2 weeks.

The harvest was the best yet! Huge colas the size of coke cans everywhere. I wish I could get the same quantity and high as the AK47 with the taste of the blueberry. I may have to do some breeding!

I've smoked a lot of weed in the last 35 years and I've never tasted anything better than Blueberry. If you have never tried it yet you really owe it to yourself to find some. It's not a big producer but the taste is worth it.

I've been around many chronic smokers all talkin shit about how good their buddies weed is and bla, bla, bla... I'll bust out a hit of Blueberry and they shut the fuck up real quick! How about a big fat slice of humble pie?

Well I finally added CO2 to my flower room. I also got an A/C unit to keep the temps and humidity down.

The light's vent fan is now pulling air from my bathroom so my flower room is totally sealed. I have a vent fan that comes on right before the CO2 to clear the room of stale air.

I'm still dialing in my PPM levels. My next big purchase is a CO2 controller.

I started some Dutch Passion Skunk #11 fem seeds last week. It will be interesting to see how they turn out. I miss having some old school Skunk around so I broke down and bought the seeds from Dr. Chronic.

All my plants are doing great! I put the new babies in the system on the right.

The left system is going off. Huge buds everywhere. Even the Blueberry is looking big this time.
