Still no independent review of the GeekBeast Pro???

To answer my own question, I've just checked on the drivers and they have the small dimmer screw, so I can at least dim the lights and turn them on using a mechanical timer.

Fuck me, what happened to the good old days. A ballast and hps could be in a box for ten years and you could unpack it, plug it in and it'd light up.

Not anymore, some company in china goes tits up and my bought and paid for item doesn't work anymore.

Ridiculous
Yes it is! Well I Havnt looked into flashing yet either but thought I could use built in dimmer as well. It works but for only up to 280 W. In order to use 300 to 600w you have to rewire to make white and 660 work. I’m not sure if you can use switches on the ir or uv after rewire. I just needed a light for flower so didn’t do any further testing. As far as just plugging in and turning up dimmer you’re only going to have a veg light. Some came with manual switches and wi fi together but mine don’t have any manual switches. Would be nice to have schematic for those and driver modle. Hope that helped some.

Hello mate

Mine didn't come with switches either, just the Bluetooth/WiFi module.

I wouldn't be arsed if I could download the app and use the Bluetooth, but I can't find the APK anywhere. I don't even know if it's on my old phone, screens broken.

Not being able to use the UV or ir doesn't bother me, but I need to be able to use the full wattage via the dimmer, so I'll have to find some work around.

Like people said at the beginning, these Chinese brands might be great value, but this goes to show the major downsides.

I wish I had just got the lights with switches and dimmer knobs, I never dreamed that there was a possibility this would happen.

I also have the smaller qb lights, so I need to get that sorted too.

Ok this is my quick fix to get full power just using built in dimmer. Pics show location for removal. Get some wire nuts small. Unplug of course. Remove lid on black WiFi box and remove your ac_L and ac_N power wires. These run to the back of power supply. Cap those off. Next remove the dim+ dim- wires and cap off. Put lid back on.
Now your light will run from 300w up to rated power. Just adjust and stick a wall timer on and good to go. As I said before this only works the main leds. Whites and 660nm. Not the ir and uv. Those are actualy split from main lights on own line. I’m pretty sure those are 5v. You could check the voltage past the black box on ir or uv and see what voltage is and get a driver to run those remotely. I’ve not had a bed to go that far but will get around to it and let ya kno. Anyway that will get you through flower bro. Any questions just ask.
Take care.

Hello guys. Thanks so much for your help last time, when I realised geeklight had gone tits up.

Some good news though, possibly. I've found the geekbeast apk on apk pure. The app is legit and I've logged in with all of my previous saved data.

I'm going to assume the Bluetooth will work if not the WiFi connectivity.

I'll keep you posted

Happy gardening

Nice! Idk but mine have to have WiFi to raise main lights up. The Bluetooth worked the uv ir just fine for of n on. Will see if it works and let you know. Thanks.

I've not tried the big geekbeast 630 yet, but the monster board 240 is fully functional with just the Bluetooth. Hopefully the 630 will be too, as I'm setting up a new tent and will be getting it hanging soon

That’s good it works for the smaller lights for sure. I tryed to download the apk file and it wouldn’t let me so I gues they took it off to. I’ll probably just go with how I have it wired now and ad another driver for ir. Thanks for the tip and info tho!
