1) Take plug set out of package and separate the wires about 3" down.
{see pic #1}

2) Using the wire strippers remove about 1' of the white coating from both ends of the wires.
{See pic #2}

3) Using the wire on the Plug set that has a Round coating, twist that wire around the tip of the Black wire from the socket set.
{See pic #3}

4) Using the wire from the plug set with the Ribbed coating, Twist that wire around the White wire from the socket set.
{See pic #4}

step 13: Call fire brigade and tell them your address
Why is that? this is wired correctly. If you don't like my tutorial thats fine. But their is no need to be rude. I am just trying to help out people who might be having trouble wiring a plug set.

Thanks for your reply anyway. Have a nice day.

Did someone ask you to put up a step by step guide?

Shouldnt you be using block connectors to connect them together, That orange cap you are using does not look safe.!
I would not copy this guide, It does not look safe in the pic!

Seems like a worthless thread made just to increase your total posts.
P.s I dont want to crap on you thread but it is needed, You should post un-safe guides for

oblivious reasons.

Nice thread...good advice...

A simpler method might be to purchase single sockets that plug directly into a power source and use extension cords...no wiring to deal with and they are pretty cheap.

Nice contribution though.

any wiring not done by a licenced electrician voids your insurance, what if you burnt down an apartment block ??? spend the money and get the right equipment otherwise dont bother.

This isn't wiring that is a part of your housing wiring...quit hating. I have done some wiring in my house and if there was a fire it would be impossible to tell if the wiring was done by a licensed electrician or not. I have read tutorial books on wiring and from what I can tell he has done everything just fine. Although instead of taping up those wire nuts you could put box them to make it a little more safe.

Who's hating? No one!
A thread was started containing bad advise, others like myself have noticed this and tried to correct/improve the thread.
The wiring only needs to be inside your house to create a fire hazard you know, And it would not be impossible to tell who wired up your house because a licensed electrician would have left paperwork/certificate behind to show his work comforms to eu/bs standards.
Ok, so you have read tutorial books covering wireing, Well take it from someone who doesn't need to read tutorial books to know about electrics that the above is in fact NOT safe.

There is 2 ways to look at this, NOT safe and safe.
By using caps and tape to secure wires together like shown, Is not safe and could be a fire hazard. Are you starting to understand now,

Anything else to say homer

Thanks for your feed back, However "That orange cap" That does not look safe is called a "Wire nut" and is made for this exact purpose. To tie two wires together, It is completely safe. You can go to Homedepot and ask them your self. I under stand it does not look professional but it does work, and will not cause any fires! The wiring is rated for 600w and so is the socket set, and as you can see in the pic I only have 136 w connected, You still have 464w before you even have to worry about the wires getting warm.

If you dont like this guide don't use it.
I know many people that have used this method for years, and never had a single problem, I do understand that your being extra careful, and I respect that, so lets just agree to disagree.
Hope you have a nice day.

Thanks very much, Yes that would be a simpler way, But I have seen lots of people asking how to do this and I just thought I would show a cheap and easy way.

No, i dont need to go to home depot to look and see as i already know how to do things correctly.
So your wire nut may be made for that usage but are you really saying that it is the right way to go?
I'm not being extra carefull either, like i said, just doing it correctly!
I dont like your guide and will not use it and hope no else does too.
BTW, Block connectors cost 1Penny each, How much do the caps cost?
wattage has nothing to do with this post at the moment, so it can hold another 464W, does that matter when the tape holding it all together fails and the cap falls off leaving exposed wires? NO

Anyway, I'v had enough of this thread and the crap that is getting spoken in it, Only tring to advise you on the correct/safe way of doing things and if no one takes notice it doesnt bother me.
see pics
Can anyone see the differance?

They are not caps. They will not just fall off, They are wire nuts they screw on, the only way to have them come off is if you unscrew them, Their are no exposed wires under the tape, You could use block connectors if you like either way will work just fine. No one is talking crap in this thread but you. Wire nuts are $1.50 for 100.
So like I said before we can just agree to disagree, I am just trying to help people out, I will be showing how to wire a lamp socket set next. Have a good day, and Peace!
