Hey masterganga, I'm also into my first grow and had the same experience (see pics--is this what you're referring to?). Yes, I would say it's normal for several strains. That is the input I got from several growers. Good luck & keep asking questions.:joint::joint::joint:

the lights are about 2.5-3 inches away there 2 48 inch flourescent, the light fixture is hanging and then its surrounded in aluminum foil then at both ends i have 2 fans blowing air in. i was just reading and i'm scared it might be heat stress, i'm going to try to get some pictures up of the plants, the temp is around 90 degrees F, and humidity 45% if you could help me with an idea how to cool the area down that'd be great

Personally, I've never seen any exotics that didn't have red/purple streaks on the upper parts of the branches (yes, I know they exist)
If I had any, I'd trade you a green stemmed plant for a purple anytime!
I think it's a great sign the vast majority of the time.

I have a setup that allows me to pump in cooler air from a crawl space beneath my grow area. I use a fish tank air pump and it works very well. It lowers the temp between 15-20 degrees;-).

What i had wanted to do in the first place was do something like RaginCajun420's setup in the 30 gal rubbermaids except i cant find 30 gal rubbermaid around where i live or the light fixtures that he had

You could stand there w/a wet/damp towel and fan it back and forth until it dries or, if you have a fan (I suspect you may) simply drape a well dampened towel over it so that the air passes thru the towel <<< 1950's po' folk A/C.

well its in a closet like the diagram shows theres a shop light 2 40 flourescent tubes hanging about 3 inches away from the plants i put aluminum foil hanging off the sides of the light and on the ground then on the ends of the light theres a fan on each end, so far i have 2 plants then 2 plants are in jiffy's right now 1 of which i think is dying and the other is just sprouting now, i started on the 17th of july so my plants arent very big at all, with it being summer and all i check on them every hour because i'm so bored, if i had school it'd seem like it went faster
