stealth grow under cfl!

Cool will be perfect timely heard it`s realy good for the taste and resin production to give em mollasses now in preflowering because they start storing up those sugars now . Just mix a little with water and see how they react to it . Ya still got a long way to go mine are on day 90 exactly to do but i only switched at week 6 and my plants where alot taller than yours then i prunned so made em take a little longer and i started with a 11 watt cfl and then upgrade to 26 watts , then 60 watts then 120 so it also made em take a little longer . Yeh you gunna get hairs like crazy all over these are they both definately female yet ?

Ah I read that's more or less what it does and that its not harmfull at all so why not try it! Haha ja same here, pruned, then repotted, thenthen pruned again, small space everything made them stunt growth, but now they are happy! No I'm not sure yet..1 definitely is, the bushy smaller one I'm not sure about yet..hasbt started showing, when should she/he now that they are under 12/12?

Should take like another week or a week and a half to show if it`s female or not by producing the same small hairs like on your other plants . That other small sort of indica plant of mine has been on 12/12 from seed and i`m also still waiting for it show . Your spectrum is mostly blue`s like on a metal halide this helps you get more females too so hopefully that little bushy one is female because it`s a beutiful plant and could be a nice yielder .

The lst was not right at all and thank you for pointing it out haha so tonight I watered them and after about 1.5h I started the new lst! I'm pretty sure that I did it correctly this time..did I?? #2 has new hairs now, so I'm 100% sure its a she! Some pics!

Both together! Still hoping that the other ons is also a female, the bushy one! Bust she is growing really nice, her budsites are big and she is super strong aswell, was difficult to lst her, had to do it really slowly




Just for an extra pic, here's my swazi plants growing indoor through a window. 3 plants in 1x20L bucket. Topped them at about day 20 and never again. They are 52 days old now. Right before I started these 2 under the cfl I planted those in normal soil and I feed them only nutes basicly and every now and then I give them like 2l of water and leave them for about 10 days before feeding again. I know its not right but I just tested it on them and they love it! Won't do it to my journal plants tho haha these are purely for fun and whatever I get out of it is extra!

OH f*** yeh two females good to hear they are looking so good new growth is a nice colour . Is your growroom completely light tight ? so that when it`s night or when the lights are off they get complete darkness same for the swazi`s (they got some weird looking thick leaves on them sorta like a hybrid ) if the swazi`s are getting any light from like lights at night or something . If you have a cub or something to put them in it will help them to go into flower if you want just put them in it after the day is over for 12 hours then take em out . Yeh those swazi has got some fat indica looking leaves of it for a pure sativa and the indoor ones are so bushy and awesome nice lst`ing . The swazi kind of looks like panama red it`s awesome . But yeh the swazi`s will never naturally flower if they getting artifical light at night time and will veg for ever
The grow is looking realy awesome and the light intensity for the space is rad i never seen these strains so bushy nice work bro .

Oh shit didn`t read properly we still waiting on plant two to show it`signs .

Ja unfortunately only 1 is a female, I'm not sure about the other 1 yet, hopefully in the next week or 2 I will be able to tell, if its a male I will take a clone from the female and put it under 12/12 in the same cab! My plants under the lights are not 100% light tight but on after 10 when they go off, I just use my cellphone, its in my room and I'm only ever in there when I go to bed so its fine. And yes the swazi plants are getting light from my lights being switched on, don't have a big enough space for them to go into, will try figure something out coz I want them to finish now! They are only day 6 of flower so they will propably fill in the cab within a few weeks right? Like the way the leaves are darker as they go more to the tip and lighter to the middle. I always see other plants look like that so its propably a good thing haha they are getting molasses with every feeding now, read that you can do that, will not over-do it though, added 5ml to every litre of water. They are getting more water now tho, about 400ml each every 3 days, does that sound right?

Yup remember if you reading guides from people in the States that a gallon = 3. 87 litres around i think . Just get a large a cardboard box for those swazi`s . That`s actually a nice idea use your swazi plants as mothers if you get females from them will be awesome to see how the clones do , I`ve never made clones before so i don`t know but i hear that sativa`s are easier to clone so could be a cool learning experience . Oh only one female so far well the other way looks like a female too ussually is short stout growth like that ussually the males grow faster so lets just hope .

Ya I read a few different threads saying 1 tbsp per galon, 1tsp per galon, 1 tsp per litre and everything. Everyone uses a different amount so I thought that 1 tsp per litre can't do any harm as all those people said they have never seen an overdose of molasses so I will use that and see how it goes! As for the mother plant, I want to take a clone out of my indoor cab but I don't want to loose any bud from it from the total harvest, unless 1 is male I can clone the female and it should bud at more or less the same time as the mommy if its under the same lights at the same time right?

Cool ja that's a good idea! Will get a cardboard box and just open and close it in 12hour intervals. Good idea and cheap, thanks! Haha no I didn't top the plant twice, topped both once, actually topped the taller one twice as I tried to fim it and I fucked it up so I stuck to topping haha

I checked out your grow, its looking awesome! See you had your problems along the way aswell and then they turned out great, looks like this happens to most new-timers! Haha but thanks, started out with 65watt 6400k cfl and now I'm at 190watt of cfl with 3 different spectrums so just like you the more I got into it the more light and other shit I got, its awesome! Keep up the good work

Thanks, I started with 26 watts then 52 watts when both plants were vegging bigger and they were 2700k lol should of been higher k rating but they turned out female, then i ordered 2 105 watt cfl bulbs and one came broken so I went up to 105 watts and then a week or so later the replacement bulb came and I put that in. I'm only a few days at full 210watt power.

Haha now you see what I mean! That's anough, more is obviously better but I'm running 190 watts and they are doing good so 210watts will be just fine! Thinking about adding ONE more 20watt light, but I'm worried about temps then, but that will be in my next grow then, for now this will do. I have a very small space, about 2 swuare feet so 190watts will do good in there, it kicks out about 6000-7000 lumens per square foot I think so it should be good!

I need a thermo too from the shop in obs a hygrometer is 290 with lcd display but I don`t think it`s worth it for such a smallscale grow .

That should be an easy grab, i don't know about in africa. but here i got a hydrometer/thermometer for 15$ even shows daily highs & lows. I have looked at your grow too though, every page and I doubt you have too much heat based on your lighting. I also seen some 40 watt 2700k cfls at walmart if you can get a hold of something like that. Light is important, every time I increase my lighting I see my plants get happier and happier. But with stronger light comes stronger heat then you need more fans and exhaust fans and before you know it you've spent over 120$ on your plants.

Thanks yeh im just in a pretty ragtag part of the country at the moment just had trouble finding any CFL`s over 20 -25 watts in the 2700 k and 6500 k . Walmart just took over Game another supermarket group here , so hopefully we will be able to buy better shit those mogul sockets , clamp reflectors and higher watt cfl`s would be awesome . Where this grower is there are better shops and a hydrostore but theirs about 4-5 reputable online providers of hps`s , led`s and cfl`s ,carbon scrubbers and all the other shit we need . I`ll be upgrading to hps in 3 months , i didn`t grow for a few years then was able to so started that little indoor op to get up to speed with all the new techniques , alot of new stuff like scrogging and autoflowering pot that i encountered after like 4-5 years not growing it`s crazy people in the states realy advanced indoor growing alot .
I`d like your opinion on what typa wattage hps`s too go i`m thinking 2 600 watters hps and using one and just cfl`s for vegging we got around 2000 dollars for everything like odour control and all that . A 1000 watt hps costs 400 dollars here so that you can guage the price . Thanks for checking out my humble grow though dude .

53 days have gone by with these guys and I definately know 1 is a female, but it looks like the bushy one is a male..fuck!! That's what I was screaming yesterday when I saw some plant balls! This is my first time sexing a mj plant, but I have seen a lot of photos and read a lot and having one female already means I know what a female looks like, there is hairs at EVERY node now with no balls, with the suspected male, there are atleast 1 ball at most of the nodes, but some have 2, 3, even 4 balls..not likely that hairs will pop out unless its a hermy right?

I decided to wait another 2 days or so before taking action, JUST incase, but I don't see hope..man that was my favorite plant!! And that cut my yield into half, he had a lot of budsites!

After the lst all the budsites shot up and from the top it looks really nice!


Its hard to see due to cam quality but if you look carefully or just zoom a bit you can see the small balls forming. If it was 1 ball only it would be fine coz hairs could still pop out, but if its like 2-4 balls it will be a male right?




If anyone has some advice on what to do next it would help a lot! Thinking about taking a clone from the female and just putting it in the same cab under 12/12 but I have never cloned, tried it but it didn't workout as I killed them by dropping them before they even started to grow. Ja a full walmart would kick ass here in SA! But people are against it coz of small bussinesses and things like that so they just took over all the big ones, changed it a bit, kept the names the same and still make a shit load of money! So game is helping me aloy yes, but over here we have a fully equiped lighting shop where I can but a 150w or even 200w cfl! But then I need the fittings and shit so fuck that noise, I'll stick to my smaller ones haha but joh that's a lot of weed they found, they say they havnt seen the equipment before?
