i recently tried germinating 8 seeds from attitude in rapid rooter plugs in a rapid rooter tray. under a 8 tube t5. keeping the light 6 inches away. 2 out of 8 sprouted out but after one day they look sick and are kind of laying down. nothing else is even budging. wtf am i doin wrong. i didnt give any nutes. seems like im the only one who cant do this and i have a 100 percent clone rate under the same damn light.

rapid rooters suck. loose the dome. seedlings are fine in the open air, as long as the soil is moist enough to open the seed.

Just wanted to say good thread. I recently planted 5 WW, 2 SLH, 3 AK, 3 ice, and a roadrunner just seed to soil. All but 2 widows popped and are growing beautifully. Why complicate things any more than they need to be? Mother nature knows what she's doing.

That's taken from the Mandala Seeds website, which should be mentioned, and who's method I tried with one of their Kalichakra seeds a month ago. I'm still waiting for it to sprout. Also tried one God Bud seed, one Santa. I'm still waiting on these, as well. In the meantime, I used the warned against method to germ a Fast Bud, which is about to flower, and a Blue Widow.

So, I consider their advice to be sincere, and it's well-taken by me, but in the colder months I'm going to make sure my seeds crack. I'll risk the hazards they warn about.

To be clear, I'm a fan of Mandala Seeds, but taking their advice set me back.

What happened to him?

+rep Cracker! Just dropped 6 Nirvana Chrystal seeds in wet Rockwool cubes. Left in ambient light for 48 hrs then threw under T5s at 12" above cubes. Germed a perfect 6/6. Once they sprouted I moved the T5 4" above tops and all are doing well.

No more paper towels or seed-soaking for me!

Cracker can you go into detail what size cup you start in plus how much water you use in planting? DO you use a dome or plastic bag? How about some details on how you plant step by step.

So I used the Paper towel method, before finding this thread, But ANYWHO my friend gave me some bag seeds to grow( he is a dealer that thinks Hydro is great weed) so i have no idea what strain these seeds are but back to the topic..I started germing these seeds like 3 days ago i'm going to give them a whole week since I have no idea how old the seeds are. I have 4 in the paper towel and 2 in the dirt..when should I give up hope on my lil ones???

when u realize you dried them out. my first mistake was poor soil moisture

My soil is damp to the touch I don't want to drown them but idk wnt them to dry out too...I'm not as worried about the pot seeds as I am the paper towel seeds.

ive had atleast 99% germ rate with this right her drop in a cup of water next too my cable box in the dark overnight than they go into damp paper towels on a plate covered by a solid color bowl placed on top of heating mat within 24 hr all have roots coming out dont leave it too long roots will grow quickly runied many of seeds like that

That's interesting stuff. I actually did the two side-by-side about three weeks ago. Both sprouted, but the paper towel sprouted, was transplanted, and cotyledons out before the first broke the soil, though they are pretty close in size now. I personally enjoy the transplanting.

agree plus you know that it took i personally like to transplant from paper towel into coco dont have to worry too much about the water to o2 situation

I will try this with a couple of the seeds I have left over

can too much heat kill them?

wont be too much heat trust me standard heatin mat is made for seedlings so wont be over kill never had a issue either except letting them go too long
