Sprouting problem

I have four seeds in peat moss pucks right now. The seeds are from greenhouse. Today is day 6 since they went inside of the pucks and no sprouts. I have kept them wet, but not drenched. I check with tweezers real careful like today and saw the seeds and they have cracked. I made sure things were in order and put them under lights inside of a little plastic greenhouse (I cant think of the word ha)

I guess im just looking for a little re assurance since this has been taking longer then expected.

No worries, it'll pop up if theyre cracked. Be careful when transplanting those peat pots... make sure u take of the netting that's holdin em together and that they don't crumble when u plant them.

yee just give it some time, some seeds take longer to sprout than others
did you germinate them first ? or did you just stick em in the soil?

I put them straight into the peat pucks. And I'll make sure i do richjames.

be careful man, the taproot will grow through the bottom of the puck and when you go to take off the cloth the bottom won't come out and the puck will most likely crumble to pieces.

Try to maintain a constant 75 degrees. I've had "throwaway" seeds in my worm farm that took 2 to 3 months to sprout. They just needed the right temp & moisture. Good Look.

I've had that happen myself and got a retarded plant out of it. Simple fix though- 3/8'' planting depth in the peats gives it room for the taproot until the first round leaves sprout then transplant into new home, HOPEFULLY without distress to ur sprout. The peats do tend to want to crumble though, making carefule handling key. As someone else said as well, maintaining the temps can be an issue since the peat evaporates water when wet which makes them cold for sprouts, u can counter this as well with a heating pad.

i've actually had the same problem multiple times. sprouting for me is always the hardest part for some reason, I germinate them and start them in soil and get it moist but not soaking and nothing ever pops even with about 2 weeks waiting.

It's easy to remove the peat mesh if you have a sharp pair of scissors.Carefully place the puck on a flat surface so it's steady,and snip a little at a time, working slowly, all the way down one side.The do the other side,and peel them gently down. Test the puck with your fingers to get a feel for how to grab it, and have your transplant pot ready.Gently lift it ,and snip the remaining mesh,or, if the taproot hasn't grown through, it should just peel right off.It's kinda fun, like pretending you're a surgeon!

I've had a lot of problems with this very thing with greenhouse seeds this past grow. They would crack, then just kind of die/.stop growing after being put in the dirt. Never had a problem with this before with any other seed.

I planted a bunch of different strains this grow and gh seeds were the only ones that were problems.

day eight. STILL no sprouts and im really getting discouraged. Can I save these seeds, wtf is wrong. what do I do now? I have 6 more seeds that I was supposed to be saving and now I feel that the variety pack is no good. is there a way to get money back or them send me more seeds bacause im heated about the whole subject.

Should have gone for some rockwool cubes.i don't know why but seedling seem more stable in these make a little hole pop the seed in just a couple of ml under the surface and take a little bit of the bottom of the cube put this over the top of your seed and within days you will have the 1st set of seed leaves,spray a mix of water and superthrive onto the cubes if they become dry but it is not very often they do.i soak my cubes for a few hrs in the above mix only add 1 drop to a ltr of water.also apropagator can make all the differance just keep the lid and the top of the cubes misted.keep the vents shut till seeds sprout and bob is your uncle and fannys your ant.

My gh seeds died in rockwool as well. I don't understand it. I like the looks of some gh's strains, but don't think I'll be trying anymore. Root stimulator coating my ass...lol.. GH is the only seeds I've had a problem with. They screwed up my whole grow time frame this grow.

so would you guys says seeds are dead? i have rockwool cubes, peat moss is just ph balanced so i thought it would be better. how do i go about soaking the rockwook in PHedwater?

plant them in planters, peat pucks are better for propagation. seeds germinate in the dark if you're trying to use light on them.
Germinate them between paper towels, folded up and drenched and put inside of a cracked container or ssock, something that can breathe a little bit but is light tight, they will germinate within a week and you can plant them root down in the soil.

you should probably buy some 'pure water' in a gallon to germinate and water the seedlings for a few days. it works great, is ph neutral and free of chlorine and other tap additives. you shouldn't bring it down on the store because you said one of them opened and you were using tweezers, you might have closed it back up. and you can use your hands its not a big deal. I cut one of mine open because it was last to open and it sprouted. just like slice the part that opens very carefully and pry it open a bit and plant it open if its really late, chances are it will appreciate the help.

I've been giving them drinking water, that has sat out for a couple days so the chlorine can dissipate. I took the seeds and put them back in paper towel method germination to try to get a little more growth from the tap roots. I also started three other g13 seeds that attitude gave me for free.

What's up with the red one? Anyway, if those seeds are cracked open, and have a taproot at all, then it's time for them to be planted and they should grow.

Looks like one of its greenhouses new colored seed pathogen root stimulator crap.


I would order some more seeds man. If its been that long and nothing is happening your probably wasting time.

Hmm... thought they colored them so u could tell which ones are which no?
