I bought a bad batch of clones(spider mites) about 6 months ago and its been nothing but a nightmare ever since.I'm Looking to regroup and completely start over .I'm tired of wasting my time and ALOT of money trying to get rid of these mites. What i want to do is start fresh with seeds from a reputable seed bank and start from scratch. My question is how long do these mites live? What else besides plants do these things feed on?Whats the best way to make DAM SURE when i start germinating these seeds that there isn't gonna be a mite within 10 miles of my house.

Bleach your whole room. Run a couple dr doom bombs. Spray every week in veg. Those things can live like 6 mo in egg form I believe. Once you get them its hard as he'll to get rid of them.

Unfortunatly, I'm an expert at spider mite eradication. Had them come on clones on three seperate occasions. Now I deal only with a company out of San Diego called StrainBank that guarantees their clones to be spidermite free.

1. I got rid of spider mites the first time with bug bombs, then lady bugs.
2. Six months later - Second time around the bug bombs were worthless, they had become immune to Pyrethrin. Had to go to commercial stuff
called... Liquid Lady Bug - After two rounds of it they were gone.
3. A year later they came in on new clones... This turned into a disaster that lasted for 9 months! Tried all kinds of remedies... Finally had to wash
them off the buds with water every day then sprayed clorox on the dirt floor to kill the mites that washed off the plants. After the plants were harvested
I finally got rid of the ones in the mother room by using No Spider Mite - 3 TIMES in a row instead of the recommended 2 applications. Every time I did
it two times they would come back! Each application of No Spider Mite was a big stress to the plants. This stuff is expensive - but it does work.

When you bleach your space - use a bug sprayer with Clorex/water 1 cup to a gallon of water to hit the ceiling and walls - use a freakin set of goggles!

Good luck

Forbid/Avid mix for me. I choped my flower room, sprayed my vege room 2 christmass ago. I found it by the oz on ebay. It is $300 for both full size bottles and $5 for a single dose... I still have two doses left from18months ago.

Sad advice from a desperate person.
You can either battle them or kill them in one application during veg as babies

That won't happen in 1 application unless the application has a way (that I don't know of) to completely destroy all the mites and the eggs that hatch 2 or 3 days later. If it kills the eggs too I want to know what the product is called.

inleague has been dealing with this for 6 months so the mites are everywhere.

People in this thread have already mentioned the best way to kill them... not battle them.... in one application.,
9 drops of AVID, 5 drops of forbid in a 32 oz bottle of water with some greencure for spreader

use only on your babies to allow 3-4 months for chemical breakdown :)

But you can always get mites again easily through an open window or door.....on your clothes.. through pets...other house plants.... other people in your grow area.

The only way to prevent mites... is what we do in Colorado..... A totally filtered grow area and a decontamination area before you even enter the grow area (street clothes come off...take a shower and put on new in the bag... white coveralls)

When your in a 20,000 sq ft warehouse that is divided up for 6 different growers 1 mite will fuck us all.... just as 1 pm spore will do the same...We signed a legal contract to decontaminate ...If we get caught not doing this its a $10,000 fine and we lost our grow spot

Avid kills eggs and the hatched mites....Forbid does too but it penetrates the leaves so you don't have to spray the underside of your leaves...

Don't use this method if you are in flower or have less than 2 months of your grow left

If you have a small grow.... spray your plants every other day... you can kill hatched maites with soapy water .....spray every other day.. for 10 days.... to break to mites life cycle

Forbid is for adults and avid is for eggs. I used them 18 months ago. I dont even own a plant that has been sprayed anymore... Grain of salt... I dont want to tell you to spray your stuff with poision... It is one application. I can spray the outside of my room and not my plants now...

Avid and Forbid are for outdoor use. I still used it indoor. I would save it for last resort type... It will kill them for sure.

I put a lot of blueberries in my outdoor worm bin. It attracted predatory mites by the thousands. I think that they like sweet fruit. I paid $75 online for 1500 of them, it has been a couple of years so my numbers might be off. They really didnt fix the problem!

Fuck the additives. Get rid of everything. Bleach your room and house twice within 1 month and start again. If you dont clean the room then you will always be buying insecticides for a loooooong time. After you clean the entire area, preventative sprays after your place is clean will help eradicate them away from your grow in the long run.

If any of your friends or yourself.... has 1 mite on your clothes anywhere and you go into your grow area you have mites again

If you open a window to get fresh air or open your front door...mites float on air...you have mites again

If your dog or cat goes into your room you can get mites again

Buying a houseplant from a store... mites will jump off the houseplant and onto the weed plant

There are multiple ways....not just 1..... for your plants to get mites
