Soothe my seedling stress

I’m posting this to hopefully lower my stress levels as a newbie. I’m on day 11 of my 2nd grow (I fucked the first one up close to the end and was super disappointed) and I’m just looking for confirmation that all is normal. Day 11
FastBuds G14 auto seed planted directly into 5gal pot of organic potting soil
150w HPS light 12” above seedling
20/4 light schedule
Giving small amounts of water at 6.4ish ph when dry 1-2” down
Fan running on low since sprouting
Temp 72-80 degrees Fahrenheit

This is my first time with good genetics and also growing an auto (last one was bagseed Sativa). I feel like I’ve done as much research as I can and I’m controlling as much as I can but, I’m stressing that I’m forgetting something or fucking it up somehow.

And 12" is wayyyyyyh close for HPS light, try 24"

It has a root booster mixed in already. Other than that, I’m not sure. I used it for my other plant with no soil issues.
As far as solo cups go, I read a few places that with autos, you can sow the seed directly in the pot so you don’t have to worry about transplant issues. Apparently it grows slow to start but, then it’s fine. Idk. Now I wanna go start another one in a cup lol
Thank you! I’ve been messing with the light trying to figure out height/temp. Everywhere says something different from 3” - 5’.

I would use your wrist like checking temperature on a baby bottle and settle on a distance that does not feel warm on your hand

That’s how I was doing it at first but, I can get up to 8” from the bulb before it starts to get too warm for the back of my hand and I know that’s too close.

He kept it close but he also made that space feel like a wind tunnel

Why is up-potting the best way to grow a cannabis plant when growing in soil, because every time you up pot a plant you will give that plant the ability to extend their biggest roots downward, which always accelerates plant growth. Which is very different from putting a seedling in a big pot and keeping it in that pot until harvest because once the tap root finds the bottom of that big pot, plant growth will slow down greatly because the plant has found a downward boundary limit which will make it start swirling its roots around the bottom of the pot until it begins strangling its self, (becoming root bound), but even if that doesn't happen, once the plant knows it has run out of bottom space it will begin spending most of its time on building fibrous roots upward, and that usually happens at the worst time, (around mid flower), which will hinder the plants ability to grow to its full potential because it doesn't have the space to continue developing its main root system. Yeah the plant continuing to build upward fibrous roots will most times get the plant through to harvest, but budding won't be optimal because the pot will be filled with way to many roots before that should ever happen , that's why playing the up potting game is so important!
