Something smells fishy at Tilray

I was just thinking, how fucked would HC be if there was a class action lawsuit by mmpr patients over being forced to buy medicine of questionable quality for many times more expensive than they could have produced it themselves, with limited access if any from some LP'S (PN)? Anyone well versed in law around here?
Its really already in process with the Allard case.

as a patient, that I assume whom needs a constant consistent supply..... you should always be ready to move to another LP, in fact you should preregister with every LP, well that hasn;t had a bad rap yet ... so that leaves about 3 LP's... and those are probably closed already to new customers.

Isn't that only for MMAR patients that lost their ability to grow? I was thinking more along the lines of MMPR patients who are doling out thousands of dollars in doctor fees and medicine expenses and are basically being used as test subjects against their own will to "develop" a doomed program. I mean, you can't polish a turd. Not to mention basically being used as lab rats when it comes to the long term effects of smoking irradiated plant material. Ok, so its used in the food industry but how many people smoke that dried parsley they buy? I'm sure that if someone did the research they would see an increase in lung cancer rates from when tobacco was grown naturally compared to when it was mass produced and grown with radioactive fertilizers. And sure, there's a choice of what LP you sign up with but in reality they're all the same as they have to adhere to the same insane regulations that HC lays out for them.

personally I would not smoke irradiated crap.... I would go another route to find my supply, in the end your the one that needs to decide if that what you want to smoke. yep sucks to be in that position

As far as I know I haven't smoked anything irradiated but, who knows. I wouldn't put it past some companies to be less than truthful about their practices. Once I called mettrum and asked if a strain was irradiated, they said yes. Next time I called they suggested I buy that strain, I said no I don't want it it's irradiated then they said no, it's not and the first person was mistaken. Really? That's a pretty important detail to be getting wrong. Then I left mettrum .

I'm not sure why, but Tilray has been trying to buy up excess product from CCs, MMAR growers, etc still.
As of a month ago they were still out asking for any excess - maybe they have no faith in their crops, because this close to harvest you would think they would want to harvest them before bringing in even more street weed..

How the hell can they still even bring in outside weed? Is Health Canada just turning a blind eye towards this or what, it's totally against regulations

In that article about profiteer(Tilray's parent company) it said HC approached THEM to get into the business. So perhaps they're HC golden child that can do no wrong and bend/break the rules as they please.

HC has been making exceptions the whole time.
When you get approved, if you can get product in they tend to create a grey area for you to work in.

I believe they're allowed to keep buying up stuff under some strange "don't ask, don't tell" system.
At the end of the day, we've been leaving CCs in a grey area for ages, so it's not a big surprise.

You seem REALLY interested in defending Tilray, MM.
Yup, you got me......by preaching a bit of patience I am obviously a Tilray employee. Where did you go to detective school? You've got some serious skills.... :hump:

Maybe you can give him some better advice, like to pay for another script to sign up for another LP? By all accounts I've been reading, every LP in business right now has the same or similar issues.....they are all overpriced, most have issues with reliable supply, many irradiate, and quality is pretty spotty. There isn't some magical golden LP right now that is the answer to everyone's (or anyone's) problems......my advice is to wait it out and not burn through more time, money, and frustration trying to get another script just to potentially have the same issues.

You're doing it right.

Relax - and see for yourself. There's no reason you Can't switch from one to the other, as long as the supply is there. So do that!

It's impossible for everyone to agree on everything, so just find what works for YOU, and do it that way.

Haters gonna hate, no matter what...

This is ridiculously unethical in a system full of regulations that tilray can operate outside of them, how is that fair
For other LPs and the patients, if things are all such in a grey area then throw open the grey doors
Entirely and let medically approved persons under the mmpr source their medicine from the provider of their
Choice either themselves calculating grams per day approved by five plants to get total grey area plants allowed,
Or allow a medically approved person be in possession of their prescription from any other sources
Black market or otherwise. To allow tilray to buy black market weed from the very growers who abused the MMar
(the only ones who have "excess") relable it as pharmaceutical grade prescription pot and be for the patient
The only legally approved source, that is the most sick and disgusting thing,
Surely patients should fight to see health Canada approval of this and I would surmise would make great
Evidence in court for patients litigation against health Canada and the LPs .
How about patients suing under consumer protection laws for false and deceptive marketing practices...

Class action lawyers listen up!

I wasn't aware that there was a "wrong" way to go about being a person with an illness I'll have for the rest of my life just trying to get some decent medication. Maybe if I was suffering from some social anxiety or restless leg syndrome or psoriasis or what ever other new approved condition they added so they could rake in even more money, I could chill out and wait this thing out. But, unfortunately as an epileptic with severe arthritis and spinal cord injury that causes severe nerve pain, I don't really feel like waiting it out. In fact, I'm so fucking done waiting for this system to get fixed I'll fix it myself, for myself. Time to get that veg garden converted. (Yes, it really is an indoor vegetable garden)

Don't blame you one bit for taking matters into your own hands. That is what I have done in the past, but my current living situation won't allow for it, and don't expect it to for the foreseeable future. Best of luck with the garden and producing your own......a word of caution though, I would not recommend meeting anyone from an internet forum for clones for a wide variety of reasons. Order some seeds through Attitude (or buy them at a local shop) and start from scratch......well worth the extra couple of weeks of grow time to stay safe, especially out in Alberta.

Psoriasis is a very serious disease. People can die from infections and suicide.

Relax. I also have psoriasis but I don't really feel like my quality of life would suffer if I missed using some cannabis salve for a few weeks. And yeah sorry but social anxiety disorder is one of those things that pharma latched onto to sell you happy pills. Everyone e gets anxious once in a while. If it happens more than it should, talk to someone about it don't medicate with drugs. You obviously need to work through something. Same with restless leg syndrome. Totally made up ailment to sell drugs and now it's been accepted as a real thing because of all the advertisements to sell drugs. Didn't mean to offend anyone but some conditions are less imposing on quality of life than others. Such as terminal cancer or aids. Don't think anything trumps them.

Wasn't criticizing you, just pointing out. I didn't see it as nasty what you said. Sorry to hear you have that. I know people with it and it's very debilitating.

The relax was directed at MM. I wasn't trying to offend anyone, just saying that for some with less invasive ailments going a bit without some weed isn't going to totally unravel your life. They can probably afford to wait til things work them selves out and the system improves. Some pepole however have few options s that work and going a few days without can send them downhill fast. But I do think that we can all agree that the only reason health Canada broadened the list of approved conditions is to generate enough demand for all these LPS. It definitely was not out of the good of their hearts.

And that kinda misses the whole point of it being used medicinally by only the most desperate. They know it helps people.
