just went through your journal... Great set up man .. is this your first time using Ocean forest ?? if so u gonna love the results.. no need for veg nutes till flowering.. Everything is Looking great.. keep it up
Yeah it is my first time with soil, decided to start them in Happy Frog when they were in the 16oz cups then I transplanted them into the ocean forest in the 5 gals. Got about a week and a half until flowering begins, so I really have to push them with the light. Any recommendations on a flowering nutrient to use? I would prefer an organic as everything else in the soil is and this will give me a great opportunity to compare the same round of clones in hydro and organic soil. I'm guessing little to no diff, but we shall see.

I'll throw some pics up this evening or tomorrow when I get a chance.

my Past 4 grows I have been using Tiger Bloom wich is not Organic, but on my current grow im gonna go with Big Bloom & thats Organic, but after this grow im gonna start using.. Humboldt Nutrients Bloom Natural.. it's an ultra-concentrated organic bloom formula the NPK is 0-10-0... so it dont have any potassium... no more chemical fertilizers for my Ladies

I was thinking about that Bloom Natural too, but what do u count on to boost potassium? Just the FFOF?

usually I use the root riot cubes and just barley insert them in the hole, but enough so I can't see them. This Afgan Kush I germed in the soil (Happy Frog), just under the surface. Made sure it was light a fluffy, had no problems sprouted in 2 days.

pic updates tomorrow. Quite a bit of new growth with the larger pots & higher ec on the hydro plants. Flowering starts this sunday.

fucccck. Found some bugs in my soil area, I had noticed them since I moved the FFOF in even before I had plants in there. ;( thinking they are fungus gnats, cuz their tiny w/ wings, but I notice tons of white bugs running around the top of the soil. They are super small, hard to even notice with the naked eye. My plants don't look eaten, but they seem to be all over something in the soil. Erradication time...and if this is any sign of the BS you have to deal with in soil I'll stick to hydro thx.

Got some Azamax and applied it as a drench @ 7.5ml/gal. Hope that knocks out all the little larva in the soil, I might hit the leaves with a foliar application as well. Luckily I caught this before I started flowering.

nice setup, bugs suxorz... I usually put the soil in a pot then go directly to the bath tub where I can flush the soil of any bugs before I move anything into my cab. And before that I hand wash the pots before I put soil into them just to try and kill off any eggs that might be on the pots. Then when the soil is flushed I do a light H2O2 rinse before I drop seeds in. Soil is a ton of work at first but once you get things going its pretty easy.

Aww man, sorry about bugs! To hell with soil and all it's complications, even though it's results are nice!

How long do you usually veg for from clone? with the size it doesn't seems like you need to much!

I veg 3 weeks after they root. I'd prefer 4, but didn't have the time before the move. Flouro's you def want 4 weeks, with the MH it looks like 3 will be ok.

Soil rocks! :p
Unless it comes preloaded with bugs. THX FOXFARM! I didn't have a single bug up in here until I brought that soil in.

thanks, hoping the organic soil would have a smoother taste, but with the bugs I'm not sure what the setback maybe.
