Some basic light and vent questions

Greetings just have a few random questions.

I have 8" insulated ducting from another project laying around but have a 6" fan. I haven't bought my hood yet and was just wondering if I should just buy a 6" hood and new ducting instead of an 8" hood with some flanges. The fan is only going to need to cool one 1000w hood currently possibly two in the future with a cfm of 400. Is there any negative to making a 6" fan into an 8"? Such as being harder on the fan? Reducing how air tight the setup is?

As far as hoods was thinking blazer 8" due to how air tight it's windowed seals are and have heard good things about it's light canopy penetration. Thought I've not been able to find any legitimate info about this. I want to cool the hood separately from the room pulling air from another room and dumping it into another room or outside so the hood being air tight is a definite pro.
Any hood recommendations? My purchasing priorities are:
  • air cooled
  • high light reflection % aluminum
  • easy to clean glass w/ catches
  • relatively air tight construction
  • MH and HPS compatible

Why would you need 8"? Are you running 10 lights? Stay 6" all the way. 6" extra sun is pretty cheap and works ok. Cool tubes are good for multi light setups. I use a xxxl. It's big and pretty even coverage. $200+ a piece though.
